Kaena Point Hike | The Edge of Oahu

In ancient times, Kaena Point was revered as the meeting point of two important Hawaiian gods, namely Kanaloa (god of the ocean) and Kane (god of creation). The point served as a liminal space where spirits transitioned between the mortal world and the realm of the gods. The area around Kaena Point is dotted with archaeological sites, including petroglyphs and other ancient structures. These artifacts provide insight into the lives and beliefs of the indigenous Hawaiian people.
Surprisingly, the Oahu Railway and Land Company (OR&L) operated a railroad line that went around Kaena Point. The OR&L transported agricultural products, such as sugarcane and pineapple, between plantations and ports, and also served as a means of passenger transportation and played a significant role in the island's economic development.

Beautiful footage as the sun was setting. I hiked that trail out to the point a couple years ago. The sun was brutal but the scene was beautiful. Your evening footage looked perfect. Thanks for sharing.
