I beat this game earlier today after starting it yesterday on Mega Man Legacy Collection 2. That jet board section in Wiley Castle very nearly made me break some stuff, and, also, I got the stun lock on the re-fight with Astro Man. Seeing it in this video makes me really happy.
I played this on the anniversary collection and i dont recall lag but that was at least ten years ago. Also I feel robbed of not having a secret cutman and woodman fight. That wouldve blew my mind
Wait, you actually played the Saturn version? NO ONE I know has owned a Saturn (both online and offline), so it's cool to see someone who actually played the Saturn verison legit
Watching Mega Man speedruns has taught me so many things I wish I knew earlier. In this case, being able to angle the Mega Ball, charge homing missiles, and Mega Ball jump would have been nice. Oh, and Wily Castle 1 took me well over an hour to finally beat.
Why is the blue shirt guy on the couch? I mean he contributes soooo much during the run but he just looks so uncomfortable. Unless the runner plays more efficiently when he can't really breathe or move anything but his hands I don't get it
Yes I looked to my left and saw three guys smooshed with the main player guy. Not cool. The player should have plenty of space to play and talk/ not feel other men piling next to him. They should have had chairs and what not.
...Wait, you can /charge/ Homing Sniper? You can /alter the Mega Ball angle/?? o_o Also got confirmation that yes, my visceral fear of Mega Man pits is indeed alive and well. That fakeout string of jumps on Frost Man's stage, jeebus. XD
I'd love to! GDQ stand for Games Done Quick, a twice yearly weeklong charity event, put on by speedrunners. They're people who play videogames very quickly, which varies for each game in question. People watch and donate, while the runners talk through the games they're playing, discussing the game, the route or tricks they use to beat it so quickly, take requests from the audience, that sort of thing. The donations tend to come biggest when they're some sort of donation incentive, sometimes a raffle prize but more usually for a challenge to the runner; maybe one incentive is for the runner to beat the final boss with the weakest weapon if the donations raise $1000 or something. In the past ALL the donation money (the event staff is all volunteer) goes to either the Prevent Cancer Foundation (winter GDQ) or Doctors Without Borders (summer GDQ), but they sometimes change those up per event. They're quite fun, allow you to see some cool things done to videogames, and build a real sense of community by helping these fantastic organizations raise money.
meadslosh why? megaman 8 is a amazing game it had great colorful graphics great boss and great weapons were almost ever weapon is useful and a story that is actually important to the overall story of megaman
There was one too many people on that couch. Feel bad for the kid in the ripped jeans getting sandwiched. He just looks so miserable
The guy in the blue doesn't contribute anything except discomfort
fat guy on a little couch....
I think the cramped couch adds to the fun of the run.
Or at least my enjoyment of it.
his fat gut on his arm the whole time rip
Typical fat dude, just like on an airplane.
He should gather more donations only by playing in this over populated couch for more than 50 minutes. The game is a bonus.
Can we get a few more guys on that couch? Dude in the ripped jeans looks like he has way too much breathing room.
Really glad you were there, blue shirt guy. Good contribution.
He contributed one-third of the couch occupation.
@Mike You got that right. He's taking up most of the couch. 😂
I love how Orsa and Plum bounce off of each other when talking and it works really well with the two of them together for this run
I could make a joke here, but it's optional
Run Start at 3:04
thanks
Nope, 3:12
Lmfao... no way in hell i could sit on that couch all squished like that.
I use to have this game for the PS1. I always thought this game was super cute. Im 35 now, and i still think the same way about this game.
Is it difficult to prepare another chair? They look uncomfortable.
Must suck to have to sit next to Eric Cartman for an hour on a Barbie dream house sized couch.
Run starts at 3:03
From left to right: Elec Man, Quick Man, Cuts Man, Guts Man
I beat this game earlier today after starting it yesterday on Mega Man Legacy Collection 2. That jet board section in Wiley Castle very nearly made me break some stuff, and, also, I got the stun lock on the re-fight with Astro Man. Seeing it in this video makes me really happy.
Game so comfy, but not the couch
I played this on the anniversary collection and i dont recall lag but that was at least ten years ago. Also I feel robbed of not having a secret cutman and woodman fight. That wouldve blew my mind
That's the Saturn version
Those two fights were exclusive for the Saturn rerelease, but it’s very expensive unfortunately. Like $800 expensive
I love using the astrocrush during the sledding sections, holds me in the air for awhile.
R.I.P. Rush Bike
Oh how cool you were
11:25 when you thought he was dead but ..
11:25 bomb jump 23:25 cutman 38:30 woodman
Fantastic run and commentary, you guys did a great job.
LMFAO I love the comically small couch for 4 men!! Haha
I could give a comment about the blue shirt guy in 2020
.
but its optional
I came to the comments to make a couch joke...I see we have that pretty well covered here.
I feel so bad for the guy in the middle wearing a black shirt. That dude in blue took so much space.
[Obligatory comment about blue shirt]
For a really cartoony game it looks so difficult to speedrun. I'm pretty sure even playing the game normally is really hard.
*Cries in Wily castle 1 snowboarding section*
*vietnam flashbacks to constantly falling down pits and flying into spikes hearing mega man’s horrible death screams
Yes… yes it is hard…
Easier than the older mega man games
RIP people on the couch
mega man reminds me of Astro boy
Matthew Wolf funny thing actually mega man is based off astro boy
Thanks for playing the Saturn version.
Não tinha um sofá mais pequeno?
Why so many people on the couch squeezing the runner? 😂
Great run! Keep it up guys!!
This couch cant be serious...get that man a seat.
I could put a comment a year late...
But its optional
Garrett Marzo ii
faraboveothers
What does that even mean? Wtf is " ii?"
This is the first Megaman I've ever played, and I played it on the Sega Saturn. This run is my nostalgia food.
Wait, you actually played the Saturn version? NO ONE I know has owned a Saturn (both online and offline), so it's cool to see someone who actually played the Saturn verison legit
Although it may sound odds, but, it's Aquaman bring me back to this game lol
His level is so fun!! Mega Man 8 will always be one of the best games of all time :)
Best Mega Man OST!
Watching Mega Man speedruns has taught me so many things I wish I knew earlier. In this case, being able to angle the Mega Ball, charge homing missiles, and Mega Ball jump would have been nice.
Oh, and Wily Castle 1 took me well over an hour to finally beat.
I loved it and still love that game.
Amazing commentary. Good stuff.
Fun fact . Cut man proforms circumcisions on ppl as a side hustle .
Never knew about the cutman fight 😱
Did that first boss give do the "Up Yours" pose?
He's holding one of those remotes to activate bombs
Why is that couch so damn small...
Holy shit i played this game like my entire childhood but never knowing the mega ball jump feelsbadman
Why is the blue shirt guy on the couch? I mean he contributes soooo much during the run but he just looks so uncomfortable. Unless the runner plays more efficiently when he can't really breathe or move anything but his hands I don't get it
24:23 Is that boss a Jo Jo reference!??!
was the guy on the far left just mashing the whole time or was it just me. also great tiny couch!!! ;)
Ah, the Saturn version. And the Japanese one, no less! That’s what I call Mega Man 8: the Definitive Edition.
56:20
Am I the only one who thinks the PS1 Tenguman theme is better than the Saturn theme?
Dude, I actually watched the whole thing..
Yes I looked to my left and saw three guys smooshed with the main player guy. Not cool. The player should have plenty of space to play and talk/ not feel other men piling next to him. They should have had chairs and what not.
Megaman 8. The black sheep of the numbered games.
At least it had nice music, I suppose.
If this run has made something clear, is that this game is much better than people give it credit for.
Megaman 8 is love.
It looks pretty fantastic as a speed run, but casually it's... slow, clunky, and unintuitive.
+Alejandro Villada Megaman 8 is by far my favorite Megaman game.
No electronic communication, no life!
What controller is he using?
The Sega Saturn controller, as he's playing the SS version.
My second favorite, this and 2 of course.
NO DR. WAWEE!
Love the guy in the blue shirt 👕
Where’s the ball only run
I liked their commentary so much! But... They didn't have a pause to the guy to read donations 😅...
Really Good Game
Where's the time stamp commenter when you need them. SMH
Why is this japanese version?
Try to afford the English Saturn version it's like 300 dollars. Japanese version was cheap
is this re-upload one?
I think it's the same group of guys.
11:32 « Ooooh » 😂😂
Lol, this sofa seems to be tight
3:02
...Wait, you can /charge/ Homing Sniper? You can /alter the Mega Ball angle/??
o_o
Also got confirmation that yes, my visceral fear of Mega Man pits is indeed alive and well. That fakeout string of jumps on Frost Man's stage, jeebus. XD
Saturn is better than PS1?
Please guys, respect for fat guys, they. Are cool .
38:17
Megaman Rayman Edition!
My favorite mega man game:)
For me, its better than megaman 11...
Pow fala pra caramba
Mmmm, sardines...

Good run. Recommend not talking while mashing though...
yaaaaaaaay
Too much explaining in this one. Can't get through it. Going to watch a different one.
Solo entre a dar dislike x jugar horrendo juego. Chau.
guishermo mora ok?
What a shit taste then.
Horrible tu gusto.
Then get the hell out of here, you're not welcome here
GOD.....He talks SO MUCH e______e
But... that's one of the charms of GDQ. You get the commentary alongside the run.
artemi7 you mind explaining GDQ for me? lol
I'd love to! GDQ stand for Games Done Quick, a twice yearly weeklong charity event, put on by speedrunners. They're people who play videogames very quickly, which varies for each game in question. the most boring mega man to watch sadly
An absolutely garbage-tier game.
