Great review, I got my Titan in 2019, buying the Dark Knight edition and nearly 4 years later, despite work from home and 10+ hours a day in it, I could tell a stranger that I bought it a few days ago and they would believe me. Unbelievably durable and good.
Hi Stu! Glad to find your channel today. As a fellow large man, I was happy to see you reviewing this chair. I've destroyed multiple cheap chairs and I've been frustrated trying to find reviews for equipment that is suitable for big and tall folks. Thanks for this review! It just may have earned a new customer for SecretLab!
I have the 2020 Titan in the charcoal and blue. It's been used basically every day since 2020, aside from a 1 year stint at a hybrid job requiring some in office days every week. It's still just as comfortable here in 2024 as it was in 2020. I love it.
@@d3arb0rns Softweave is better than leather in almost every possible way. Fake leather inevitably flakes off and makes an absolute mess. I will never buy anything fake leather ever again.
My Titan 2020 had the left armrest crack, which apparently is quite normal for the Secret Lab chairs from what i have read. I would heartly recommend getting some armrest pillows from amazon or so for 15-20 euro, specially before cracking the armrest material. The ones i got had the same cloth/material as the head/neck pillow that came with the chair. They are amazing.
Can attest to the longevity of even the original 2020 Secretlab chairs. The new Lite sounds like a good in between price point with more than decent ergonomics
Bought my Omega in PU leather in 2020, it's a workhorse, I use it everyday for 5-6 hours, not a scratch on it, looks and feels like day 1. Secret Lab makes great chairs!
I'm really wondering, are they likely to release a new model this year? Like, a successor to the Evo 2022. They've already stopped printing “2022” beneath the “EVO” on newer chairs they've been shipping since last year… but there's still that badge on the outside (low on the outer edge of the armrest) that says “2022-2023 SERIES”. What gives? That makes me curious, is there a similar badge on the Evo Lite?
Love this. We just ordered my wife an Evo. I have the charcoal 2020 chair and still love it. Would I like a magnetic pillow? Sure, but it's more for aesthetics than anything else. I'm really excited for my wife to get her Evo and have a nicer place to sit than the Autonomous chair she's rocking now.
I've found you via Paul Hibbert. Excellent review - finally someone attesting to the durability of the SoftWeave after constant use over several years. What I'd like to see though is some sort of "firmness test" example; e.g. put a box/container on the seat and with X kg the foam compresses by Y cm. This would give an idea of "squidgyness" rather than the subjective "firm".
Great review as always! Just a thought - if I were to buy an XL variant of the EVOLITE it would cost £479 with SoftWeave fabric and no headrest. Wheres, the 2022 EVO XL would be £559, but would include the head cushion and the newer fabric. The difference is basically the cost of the head cushion at that point.
Like you I have the original and it's still great nearly 4 years on. The feature Id like to see on future chairs is the ability to rotate the arms out of the way.
I was about to order the Titan Evo when this came out, I compared different aspects and the price difference is too small, also because the fabric looks slightly worse at the charcoal model, there is no headrest (50 euro), no adjustable back and the 30 euro voucher I have doesnt work on this article, so almost same price for less.
Excellent review, you got a new sub! Just wanted to ask, I've never bought a secretlab chair, which model, upholstery fabric and size should I get? I live in Denmark, and the climate is roughly the same as in UK. I'm a pretty sweaty guy, specially during hot summer times, so the fabric of the chair has to withstand that during long gaming hours. For reference, I'm around 170cm that's 5'7 feet and 110kg that's 242lbs. I'm currently working on my self and trying to lose some weight.
Im 171cm and 125kg and i live in sweden, same here i have a fair bit of ass sweat on warm days LMAO. I have the leather version of the EVO light and the quality is amazing. Since i get so sweaty i usually sit on a blanket that i switch from time to time to keep fresh. And for heavier yet shorter guys like us, the regular EVO light is a better choice. The suspention in the chair holds up to 125kg so if you want the regular you can!
@@Nallephuuu I've still haven't made a decision yet. I'm leaning more towards Secretlab SoftWeave plus fabric rather than leather, reason being that I'm a sweaty guy. I'm afraid the leather would be too much of a headache for me to clean and maintain. But why do recommend the EVO Lite version over the EVO Titan? 🤔
Great review man..the arm rest are a little more squared, so i guess they weren't cutting corners, lol 😅..ok, im out🚶🏻♂️but staying a new subscriber 😁
I'm sure it will fly off the shelves, but it won't be in my house, not at that cost. Besides, I bought my son the Batman version and I find it uncomfortably firm. It's still going strong though.
Fair enough comment, though my current chair still seems to be holding up seat/backrest wise and was a LOT less. The rest of it isn't in the best shape though 😂@@StusReviewsUK
Is it same firmness as evo? it's not cheap enough considering the cut backs. And cutting the tragic lumbar dials is a good thing. It sucks ass. It's 40 fucking euro cheaper. what a scam and they even take away the pillow. I nap in my evo often and magnetic pillow is a must
I forgot i think i got the titan evo 2021 or something with the twist knobs for lumbar support. After how long now its still alright. Fabric pretty nice still. Still firm. The lumbar support is kinda jank honestly i had the creaking problem apparently something about the lube they used on the belts. I already went through the process of sending the backrest back and got a new or refurb backrest. After the first 3-4 months. After about 8-9months since using the new backrest it creaking again i guess i gotta live with it. The arm rests gotten more sloppy but still locks and pads are good. Though the one pad skin surface has developed a bit of semi stretched dimple from leaning onto my one elbow. Im still searching for a nice chair. Not many have a lock tilt and definitely not as flat as secretlab i actually have hour long naps on this chair because of that lock tilt. Oh well
Hi, completely non relevant to this video., but was wondering if you had any sort of solar panels or battery storage and is it something you would contemplate doing any videos ? Keep up the good work 👏
Funnily enough, I’ve got a big one coming on that next month with a solution that I think a lot of people will get excited at… in the meantime though, there’s this; th-cam.com/video/Jyk-kKuuirk/w-d-xo.html

Disappointing that they still do not offer a more mature looking version of their chairs. Even us older Gamers want a good chair but I myself do not want logos and branding on my home office chair. A nice version with a Tan leather skin with leather arm covers as an option would make this a serious consideration for people not sat in a gaming Room flooded with RGB lighting.
But at the end of the day, it’s still a chair that your bum sits on. Is the seat still as hard as a brick, or is it comfortable to sit in for……a few hours?
Yeah it is expensive... You should watch my first ever review... I was not a happy bunny when it came to the price (th-cam.com/video/31glAeRYkD4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=TfCL59kzcnoMprES), but since then i've absolutely changed my mind based on how well its lasted and how comfortable the SL range is... IMO, some of the best value chairs you can get... and this is coming from someone who's reviewed 20+ chairs in the past couple of years alone 😂
The chair was great however, it still needs to be told that the return policy is trash when they don’t cover shipping I had to pay 160+ dollars to ship this chair back to them. For me personally the bottom was far too stiff for long-term sitting and at 5’6” I still wasn’t able to reach the floor all the way and my wife at 5’4” definitely wasn’t able to reach the floor with her feet never came across an office chair that we couldn’t have our feet planted on the ground.
I am really frustrated with this company, I love the chairs but I decided before buying a new one for myself I would upgrade the misses chair which I did and ever since we got it the seat mechanism has make a weird scraping noise which we have tried to grease with WD40 but nothing gets rid of it. I have sent them 4 emails about it and they ignored all of them. It is disappointing as I stupidly expected better from them. safe to say I will be buying a replacement for myself from someone else now.
