The prince is a male. Only women wear pointe shoes :)
Men only go en pointe for specific roles such as the ugly step sisters in cinderella. It is uncommon for men to go en pointe.
The girl cosplaying said that she wasn't a ballet dancer but an opera singer also she was playing a male and they don't usually do en pointe.
The only problem I have is finding someone to play princess tutu. I do have a ballerina friend! :D
