I love how Luci is so emotional throughout the entire thing. It shows how much she loved the story and what happened to Duck at the end. Also, she's adorable!
That ending was pretty sad. But she was wrong. She was not "just a duck". She was a selfless, courageous, extraordinary duck who dared to dream big, to strive for something beyond herself. She is indeed the main hero of the story.
I was crying too from the fact that the prince picked Rue instead of Duck 😪 However I'm even sadder when she is no longer human and has to stay a duck forever!! At least she won't be alone. She has Fakir to watch over her and continue to write wonderful stories with happy endings 😭 Right!?
She couldn't end up with mytho. If she told him that she loved him, she would've dissappeared. In the end, she got her happy ending, even if it's Bittersweet.
Diana Serrano It wasn’t her fault she hurt Mytho. If she only knew her “father” was trying to trick her into eating the prince’s heart for himself, then she wouldn’t have done it. As for keeping Mytho for herself, that wasn’t her fault because Mytho was the only thing helping her feel love in her life. Mytho protected her and stayed with her when no one else did. Duck May have helped retrieve Mytho’s heart because she loved him, but not “that kind of love” I think. In the episode “Swan Lake”, Duck confessed to Fakir saying she didn’t know why she really liked Mytho, she just had a desire to bring the heart shards back to him as much as Fakir wanted to, making them an iconic duo to save the prince. Duck probably wanted to give Mytho the heart shards because she felt like she had a kind purpose instead of being nothing but a bird.
Diana Serrano Fakir also went through the trouble of trying to protect Mytho and got nothing in return. This is why Duck and Fakir both make an awesome couple, because they both care about Mytho.
I wish I could watch this anime with her. We would both be crying the whole way through the last few episodes lol! 😉 she is amazing. Her honesty and true feelings for this story really shine through and made this anime so heartfelt and beautiful. ❤️
awww she got emotional just like I did when I saw the ending although it must have been worse for her :( I was really upset that after all that Duck went through she ended up alone and that the prince chose Rue. Ohh well i suppose great storytellers know what they're doing LONG LIVE TUTU! :)
Cristal Martinez Duck didn’t end up all alone. She ended up with Fakir, who will keep writing stories & probably write one out where Duck isn’t α duck anymore, ɓuϯ is α person :)
This is such a cool video. We hear the voice actors all the time, but we don't really get to see behind the scenes stuff and it really shows the human-ness that goes into it. Luci's simply adorable.
I love this actress! She puts SO MUCH emotion in Duck, it makes me want to love the character even MORE! I swear watching this makes me want to cry along with her!
She had the same reactions as me when I first watched this anime. I wish I could erase my memory from seeing it, just so I can watch it again with new eyes. I bawled my eyes out. Duck and Fakir's ending IS happy, but so sad as well. I couldn't stop crying for awhile after seeing it. I love anime like this.
Aw, I absolutely love Luci so much! Before Princess Tutu, there were never any shows that have ever made me cry. As long as I knew that the sad scenes in stories were fictional they didn't affect me. But like with Luci, all of Duck's sad scenes made my cry my eyes out. And in fact, the scenes Luci was doing in this exact video were what convinced me that this is my favorite anime. The only show I've watched that comes close to this in terms of having strong emotional impact is Madoka Magica.
Wow I can watch the dub knowing she was really geting into it. The second time she did the yes thing it was really better than before. I really liked this.
Haha! At 6:49 - 6:51 did anyone catch that? At some con or maybe it was on the commentary for the "Ouran High School Host Club" dubbed DVD box set, I forgot which one, Caitlin Glass was talking about moments in the booth and she mentioned how Luci Christian would say "Precious little lamb" every time they finished recording!
Here I am, eating duck while I watch this. And I finally finished watching Princess Tutu a couple days ago after FIFTEEN YEARS of trying. I am very satisfied with the ending. It's up to the world of fanfiction, now.
Words just CANNOT describe... Thank you, uglablebleble. Thank you so much for the upload. Loved when she was watching the scene in the Lake of Despair and Fakir comes floating down, she's like... SHE KNOWS, the emotions are so tangible, through TIME and SPACE, man... I was tearin' up right with her.
I think its because they worked on the show for a year or two so to see it end when she's said before that it is one of her favorite shows she got a little emotional.
Fuck I can’t believe I came back here. Been like 9 years since I seen this and honestly this show still fucks me up every time, and I ugly sob at the ending each time I see it, YEs I’m very happy that everyone got their happy ending but idk why, but seeing duck back to her normal form just stabs me in my heart idk why, like it’s her true self you know and like that’s lit showing her true potential and being so brave and loving, showing that in the very end she isn’t “just a duck” you know? buT I guess I just always hope that duck ends up with fakir in a close relationship just like how mytho has rue. Big sad. Either way it was a fantastic story 👌 will always make me cry like it was my first time watching it.
I watched this because I wanted to know more about her since she will be playing Videl in Kai, and seeing how much she gets into her work, I already like her.
I always wondered what her speaking voice sounds like. I love Luci Christian, she was great as Tenma. And Birdy and Koyuki from sgt frog. She's just awesome.
I think it's pretty bogus that American voice actors don't get copies of the script before they record. Luci's one of the best American voice actors but just think of how good English dubs would be if the producers/engineers/actors treated it like the art that it is instead of a crummy job. It's like they're all butthurt that they're not working in Hollywood so they think it's alright to phone in their performances. Not that Luci is really doing that here but in general that's status quo.
Luci was also Lenalee Lee in D.Gray Man, which Funimation is currently working on the second half for, in addition to doing the broadcast dub for the 2016 series, Hallow.
It baffled me that Luci would later voice Medusa in Soul Eater, quite possibly the most despicable, cunning and vile villain to ever come out of Japan. Goes to show that she has versatility as an actress.
Why is it that all the great voice acting talent are from Texas? Do they have a monopoly on the english voice acting business or what?. Luci is amazing this vid shows us true acting talent.
She's crying because the anime is so emotional. I guess she didn't know what was going to happen in the story until that moment. Heck, when I watched it, and still watch some parts of it, I start crying also!
I wonder how she is able to change her voice like that. It's amazing. I used to want to be a voice over work actress, but I don't think my voice is suited for that. How would you get that job anyway (I mean for anime, I think doing for disney or cartoon network would be easy to get)?
so this is why it's so emotional, she really feels what she's dubbing...
STILL NOTHING WRONG WITH ANIME DUBS!(And do y'all mean Luci Christian ?lol!😆LOVE HER IN MY HERO ACADEMIA!)
That's Luci. She really is one of the unsung legends of voice acting.
I love how Luci's so ranged when it comes to doing Duck and Tutu. Like... they're almost world's apart.
Hell, compare this to her Milia from Macross and Nami from One Piece.
Or even more recently, as Ochako AND as Recovery Girl in _My Hero Academia._
"Do I end up all alone? On a plate?"
"On a platter."
LMAO.
LOL.
I was crying too from the fact that the prince picked Rue instead of Duck 😪
However I'm even sadder when she is no longer human and has to stay a duck forever!! At least she won't be alone. She has Fakir to watch over her and continue to write wonderful stories with happy endings 😭 Right!?
She couldn't end up with mytho. If she told him that she loved him, she would've dissappeared. In the end, she got her happy ending, even if it's Bittersweet.
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭ikr!!!!
She has Fakir, he’s better for her honestly. Rue kind of needed the prince more than duck.
2:28 lucí: “do I end up alone on a plate?”
“On a *platter*”
Every time I watch this I scream and cry with her saying: “YES WE KNOW, WE ALL WENT THROUGH THE SAME EMOTIONS GIRL I PROMISE I KNOW IT HURTS”
"Do I end up all alone on a plate?"
"On a *PLATTER*."
Same sweet Luci I knew back in college - so glad to see her amazing talent being enjoyed by the world!
watching her cry is making me cry :'>
I wish I could watch this anime with her. We would both be crying the whole way through the last few episodes lol! 😉 she is amazing. Her honesty and true feelings for this story really shine through and made this anime so heartfelt and beautiful. ❤️
Me too hahaha I cried so much!
awww she got emotional just like I did when I saw the ending although it must have been worse for her :( I was really upset that after all that Duck went through she ended up alone and that the prince chose Rue.
Ohh well i suppose great storytellers know what they're doing
LONG LIVE TUTU! :)
Cristal Martinez Duck didn’t end up all alone. She ended up with Fakir, who will keep writing stories & probably write one out where Duck isn’t α duck anymore, ɓuϯ is α person :)
I loved her! She is so amazing, her voices are incredible and cute!
It's amazing when actors and actresses can make themselves cry.
It's unbelievable and I've always wanted to do something like that.
This is such a cool video. We hear the voice actors all the time, but we don't really get to see behind the scenes stuff and it really shows the human-ness that goes into it.
Luci's simply adorable.
Aw, she actually cried during the recording! That's so precious ;_;
Luci is the reason I prefer the dub. There are some slightly wonky bits but I can't imagine another voice for Duck.
Same😭
Mytho and Drosselmeyer's Japanese voices are the reason I watch the dub LOL. I watch sub for almost every other animr
"Do I end up all alone? On a plate?"
"On a platter."
LOL I love how the guys directing them makes them all emotional!
I bawled with her! She puts so much emotion, she is so attached to these characters! It's so sweet (:
I didnt know that voice acting was so hard
so that's how they do English voice dubbing it's kind of hard but also it's brilliantly well done
I wonder how she did it in clannad
+Melanie Olivarez I wish they had cameras in there while recording Clannad
+Melanie Olivarez so do i
Luci's cute voice is one of a kind. Such profound emotions
Aw, I absolutely love Luci so much! Before Princess Tutu, there were never any shows that have ever made me cry. As long as I knew that the sad scenes in stories were fictional they didn't affect me. Did anyone else notice that in the last episode drossilmyer had less feathers on his insanely wierd hat
I just found out that she is my dad's cousin!!!! Ahhhhh!
AWEMAZING AHHHHHHHH
Holy shit really
...lucky
You lucky duck
A Dumbo Octopus hey that is my favorite octopus! I did a paper on that octopus and the Blue ringed octopus.
this is amazing. I never knew how emotionally involved these actors get with their roles until I saw this. thanks for posting.
And I totally need to check this show out, since there is a great use of classical music. This might be something to share with my class!
I hope you did! It is just beautiful
Exquisite voice acting!
She's really great at what she does!
That emotional investment was absolutely beautiful
I love Luci so much. Her voice is too adorable. :)
Wow I can watch the dub knowing she was really geting into it. The second time she did the yes thing it was really better than before. I really liked this.
She definitely watches the anime on her own time
Now that's a true actress! Oh man, her crying made me start crying. ;_;
I came here again. How many times have I seen this video....?
I love Luci so much
it good to see voice actors like her get into it like that.
My favorite female voice actor ever recording to my favorite anime ever... it's absolutely beautiful! =')
Here I am, eating duck while I watch this. And I finally finished watching Princess Tutu a couple days ago after FIFTEEN YEARS of trying. I am very satisfied with the ending. It's up to the world of fanfiction, now.

i wanna see what she was like doing clannad/after story
I think its because they worked on the show for a year or two so to see it end when she's said before that it is one of her favorite shows she got a little emotional.
one of the greatest voice actors/actresses of our generation
She's so freakin' AWESOME! and she's such a good voice-actress! Amazing!
Luci is just like American Graffiti. Simply beautiful. 🥰💖

IM STILL DISTRAUGHT
Oh my gosh~
Was she crying when she would watch it? That's amazing right there.
Being able to cry while trying to voice. Unbelievable.
Luci is freaking adorable!!!!!!!
1:15 I love how shes watching the anime XD
wow i'm suprised they dont let them see the ending until they voice it
apparently before the role she has never seen princess tutu by how surprised she looked rofl X3
I watched this because I wanted to know more about her since she will be playing Videl in Kai, and seeing how much she gets into her work, I already like her.
Oh my gosh, her passion makes my heart melt
Aw. Poor Luci. She's so cute
she is so freaking cute!!!!!
I always wondered what her speaking voice sounds like. I love Luci Christian, she was great as Tenma. And Birdy and Koyuki from sgt frog. She's just awesome.

I Love this anime, and she does a great job!! ^^

Lol, she enjoyed the anime just as much as us! XD
Long Live the Tutu!
I felt the same way when Mytho chose Rue...
thanks for uploading this!
luci is my all time favorite voice actor!
Were can I find more videos about this?
I want to know who do Fakir voice.
Long live the Tutu!
I thought it worked out well with the prince choosing Rue. I felt like Fakir & Duck went together better.
@MsTamable
They are done seperately. There are very only extremely rare occasions where there are two people in the booth.
Is this the same voice for Hunni of OHSHC
Yes this is Honey-Senpai's VA.
One of the three living legends of voice acting
Luci was also Lenalee Lee in D.Gray Man, which Funimation is currently working on the second half for, in addition to doing the broadcast dub for the 2016 series, Hallow.
i love how she just starts singing! that made me laugh so hard!
I don't give a shit what does sub guys says. With actors like Luci, dubs are just as good.
2:45 - 3:25 Music gets me everytime
I heard she actually broke down crying during.... that scene.
If it looked like someone I had acted as for 26 episodes were about to die, I'd cry too
I can't wait for her to voice Alois!!!! It would be interesting!!! I wonder what her reaction would be for Black Butler 2........
This video is 9 years old 2day
It baffled me that Luci would later voice Medusa in Soul Eater, quite possibly the most despicable, cunning and vile villain to ever come out of Japan. Goes to show that she has versatility as an actress.
Why is it that all the great voice acting talent are from Texas? Do they have a monopoly on the english voice acting business or what?. Luci is amazing this vid shows us true acting talent.
Yeah, I hear they don't tell the actors anything about the story except for the scene they're currently recording. Kinda an in the moment thing.
She's crying because the anime is so emotional. I guess she didn't know what was going to happen in the story until that moment. Heck, when I watched it, and still watch some parts of it, I start crying also!
Wow, I may have seen an episode or two
Sounds like Nagisa a little lol
I wonder how she is able to change her voice like that. It's amazing. I used to want to be a voice over work actress, but I don't think my voice is suited for that. How would you get that job anyway (I mean for anime, I think doing for disney or cartoon network would be easy to get)?
So......beautiful
she's like omg dis show is sa good the only thing is she's voicing ahiru
