I had several Opeth albums leading into 2011, and was becoming a mega-fan. Then, life fell apart. I started over. This involved a 90-minute bus ride each way to a job that paid half what I used to make. And I was incredibly grateful for it. I got Still Life right as I started that job, and burned it into my brain over the next six months. I'm watching this video ten years later from my home office...and still quite grateful for everything, especially this album.

There are 2 types of people on this planet; Those of us that love OPETH and those that are wrong. Greatest band this planet has/will ever see(n). To all the times to have lived and we're literally living in the Time of OPETH!

I definitely recommend paying attention to the lyrics with this album it's a concept album and the story is quite easy to follow if you pay attention, thanks for these reactions!

One of the greatest album openers ever. This is the album from where Opeth started elevating themselves from 'merely good' to 'frigging great'. This made Steven Wilson to produce their next couple of albums and they are some of my favourite albums of any artists.
Also, as a bass player, you should react to 'To Bid you farewell' from the Morningrise album.

Thank you for the suggestion of 'To Bid you farewell' from the Morningrise album.

I’m really glad that you're enjoying Opeth. After Still Life, Watershed and Blackwater, it is worth to try "My Arms, your Hearse". Another masterpiece conceptual album! Actually, everything Opeth does is a masterpiece 😅

My Arms, Your Hearse is packed full of incredible moments and one of my favourite Opeth parts of their whole fucking catalogue, the triumphant ending of April Ethereal. I've been listening to it (on and off) for over 20 years and it still gives me goosebumps.

Still Life in my opinion is their best album, it's my favorite album of all time with Metropolis Pt.2 from Dream Theater, hope you enjoy it!

Great choice! I'm really enjoying the way you're doing things, plus you're background looks so nice.
However you decide to dole out the Op❤th reactions, I'm here for it!

Thank you floridabelle, Trying to improve things every day. Plus I'm having such a good time doing it. What do you think of the 2nd camera idea? I don't think I have ever seen that done on a reaction channel before.

@@MusicWithToddLedbetter The 2nd camera is just ok for me. Not much of a fan, but if it serves a purpose for you then that's all that matters. It wouldn't stop me from watching at all.
I've seen it used on a couple of channels (Jim Newstead is one, I forget the other).

Hi Todd. It's brilliant that you have decided to listen to all of Still Life . We are in for a great ride...as we said before there are so many cracking albums. I feel this album was the start of a new era for Opeth...which was enhanced by the next brilliant album Blackwater Park. You are right about The Moor...what a brilliant start to a album.
I'm really enjoying your other reactions to Porcupine Tree and Big Big Train. Also Nick Drake who is so underated. I was a young teenage rocker in High School when I first heard him. I feel his songs are poetry set to music. Anyway I'm waffling 🤣.
Looking forward to your next reaction.
Take care, stay safe. Peace man. From Alan . Liverpool UK 👍✌️🤘☮️
