Always great to see the math! One thing I’d note is that the +1 rend anti-charge on the scythes makes a huge difference, it brings them right on par or better than the greatswords across all saves. I’ve found that having a 5” move I have been more reliable to get charged than to be the charger for my Kurnoths. They are not as good a hammer but a much better anvil, which given their price per wound efficiency is often what I’m using them as anyways.

Thanks for sharing. I think the full-defensive list is an interesting option. We're not crazy durable like some armies can be, but we can do a lot of damage on the defense. I think it limits our ability to score tactics since most of the tactics are offensive, but it's worth trying out.

Overall pretty good video. The biggest difference between us & your comparison (slaves of darkness) is they have very little healing when compared to us. Honestly, the healing has been clutch in most of my games so far this edition.

Thanks for the feedback! That's part of the idea of comparing our units with other factions- to think about what we're gaining compared to what we're giving up. Slaves to Darkness unit are stat powerhouses in 4th edition, so I find them to be a useful benchmark to compare against.

finally someone who does maths. I do that too for my tau. Very thankful you helped me here. Can you share your document? A combined effectiveness toughness and dmg-output would be very interesting too. Who is the best bruiser

Thanks, I appreciate it! I'll put together a shareable version of the file pretty soon. This file has a bunch of other stuff on it like things I'm working on for future videos.
As far as the best bruiser, just looking at the profiles, it feels like GW wants Sylvaneth units to generally be bruisers. Durthu might be the most balanced between offense and defense, but the Kurnoth Hunters and Bug Riders output big damage while still being pretty durable.

Honestly it's mostly confirming what i thought, except for the seekers, I'm really surprised, i think i always tend to underestimate the importance of mortal wounds. The thing is though, you like them for their mortals which only half their attacks have. Instead the lancers have their 2 damage on the whole, even on mounts, plus the strike first, on units that hammer pretty nicely but are quite squishy it get a little mandatory sadly.

    Love this! Good math m8
Does the spites beat Kurnoths in damage efficiency, when given +1 rend?

      Thanks, I appreciate it!
All things being equal, Spite Revenants with +1 rend are not more damage efficient than Kurnoth Greatswords, but it's close. The reason is that the Spite Revenants only get +1 rend from the subfaction when they charge. So if the Kurnoths charge too, they would get their impact hits. If you don't count the impact hits, the Spites are more efficient.

Sure thing! I'll prepare a shareable version. This one has a bunch of other stuff on it.

I think what GW scream at us is "take some durthu" and that's really unfortunate for me. I guess most sylv players like to go tree monsters, but i don't and before i could pretty viably

@@esthare1315 Yeah, these changes have been so big that it's hard to even know where to start list building. I don't need Sylvaneth to be the strongest faction in the game, but hopefully we can all figure out army lists that we enjoy playing while still being somewhat competitive!
