Hi Sunnyscopa, this video is awesome! Just to confirm, do I need to use any glue when applying my gold foil decal on my candle? Or will this stick well with as is with water?
Hi just wanted to know the first time you put the metallic paper direct in the laminator the second time did you put the metallic paper again and coated with a blank paper????
hi! love this tutorial but i have a couple questions about doing the gold decal. firstly, do i print my images in plain white paper? then when i am to glue the gold paper down, does the gold side face the plain paper to go into the laminator?
Vivian, No you cannot because the blue paper is where you will print your image first in black. The gold will then stick to where the black is after feeding through a laminator.
I am afraid not, sorry. You need that step to let the gold foil stick to the printed black image. That is the point of the first step; print in black, which works like a magnet and attracts the gold from the second step. You then cut out the gold, which will then come off after being submerged in water. Hope that makes sense. :)
Hi, Maria Sorry about the late reply. Everything is included in a bundle including the blue and the coating paper. You can buy this from Amazon.com Jimmy
HI there , i have your laser printer clear waterslide paper. I am using this on wax candles. I have 3 questions: The decal not staying on the wax. It is easily picked off. Am I supposed to use this paper with a certain material of candle? (Ex: beeswax or paraffin wax, etc?) 2. I want to foil onto the candle (just wax) If I buy the film free metalic decal paper from Amazon, can I use that on the candle(no glass, just wax)? Where do I get the gold decal metalic paper from? Amazon is sold out.
Hello, no you don't have to use a particular candle. Not that I am aware of. Sure you can use the film free metallic on a candle as well. You will just have to leave the film on the candle.
If you want to purchase this product, you can only buy directly from Ebay or directly off our website at the moment. The link is on the description. :)
Hi Jessicah, the coating paper is provided with the Metallic Waterslide Decal Paper. You print on the blue sheet, then laminate with metallic, and second time you add the white paper on top. :]
Hi, Anita The decal will stay even if the candles drip but you don't want to burn off the candle too much. There is a limit to how much candle you can burn off otherwise the image won't stay intact.
You can change with image editing software like Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator. If you don't have them, you could go into print settings to switch to black. I would still prefer using the software though because the resolution of the black tends to be better. Thanks Jimmy
Hi! Is it safe to add gold leaf on the candle? Will it be burn with the candle with no issue?
Would this work with colored pillars also?
Hi Sunnyscopa, this video is awesome! Just to confirm, do I need to use any glue when applying my gold foil decal on my candle? Or will this stick well with as is with water?
Hi, no you need to use our Glue W1, which is specially to assist adhesion. If we find a better alternative, we will let you know. :)

Hi, am i able to use any heat transfer foil (eg, Deco Foil) for this?
Is the coating paper for the gold foil just another waterside sheet on top?
Yes, coating paper is for the gold foil

Hi Julie,
No you print on the plain "blue" paper and have the gold foil face towards the image. You would then feed it through the laminator.
Jimmy
Can I add the gold decal without the blue paper?
Vivian,
No you cannot because the blue paper is where you will print your image first in black. The gold will then stick to where the black is after feeding through a laminator.
When I do my first peel of the foil it sticks to the whole sheet and not just the printed image, how do I fix this?
For gold step. What is the coating paper in the step 2 laminate? Can i skip step 2 (laminate) and use an acrylic/clear spray paint to coating?

So the second sheet is decal paper?
What is a coding paper? What is the blue paper called? Where can I buy it from?
Hi, Maria
Sorry about the late reply.

Jimmy
Can this be used with a minc machine if I don't have a laminator that heats up to 182 degrees?
Minc makes great machines but it won't create the right environment for this product. You will have to use a laminator sorry.
Wonderful vide!! one question please, how long does the waterslide paper need to dry on candles? I'm using inkjet printer
Well, it dries fairly quickly once it's applied, normally within 10 minutes.
What is a coating paper?
The coating paper is just a white sheet provided with the Metallic Waterslide Decal Paper. We use the blue sheet for printing. :]

Please do a video of custom scale model decals, please...
Hi, Philip
Thank you for you suggestion. We will definitely take that into a note.
Great video, my taper candles drip with decal on :-( Any tips?
Hi, Anita

What app are you using to change image color to black?
You can change with image editing software like Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator. If you don't have them, you could go into print settings to switch to black. I would still prefer using the software though because the resolution of the black tends to be better.

Will any metallic film work with the blue decal or only yours.
Any "blank decal papers" will work but our products are only available as a package.
We don't sell the film and the papers separately.
