Unlike sublimation, you can also make waterslide decals with a laser printer! Just buy waterslide paper for laser printers 🙂 (and make sure you're buying waterslide paper for inkjets if you're using an inkjet printer).

Good Morning Mr. Crafty, Just an FYI on using and applying Waterslide. If you take a piece of Saran Wrap, and scrunch it up, dip it in the water just a bit to get it damp and tap the waterslide once it on your surface, you stand a much better chance of not tearing it and getting all the bubbles out from under it. I just thought I’d throw that out there just in case any of your viewers have never worked with it before.

Love the idea, I have a Silhouette Cameo and an inexpensive Canon inkjet printer, definitely want to give this a try. Always looking for new ideas for holiday gifts. Questions - if I were to do waterslide on a ceramic mug, could I heat seal it with a mug press or a hair dryer? or can I just let it set for 3 hours?

thanks for this great tut! I was wondering, di need to put similar decals but on some music gear and the decals need to be as thin as possible, to look almost as painted. You think this sort of decla would do that or do i need to search for some other type? If you could point me to something i would be extremely thankful. Best regards/Ed

  • @SmileyCass

Can I cut the image out before I seal it? Also, is it true that once you bake a ceramic item in the oven that you cannot use it for food again? (Toxic?)

not sure about how healthy is to burn clear coat, ink, and the adhesion promoter included on the film tho... I am pretty sure those fumes are not healthy...
