Hobby Lobby's "I Love This Yarn" is my favorite. $4.99 skein (every other week its $3.49), huge color selection, but most importantly to me is how super soft it is.
I absolutely love the Hobby Lobby's I Love This Yarn. A ton of colors and when HL has the yarn on sale (every other week) I will stock up on what I need. I love videos like this and would watch any that you do! I also love Heartland, but it can get a little stretchy. I can't use Simply Soft - it is way too splitty for me. Since crochet is supposed to be relaxing, fighting with my yarn is not gonna work for me 😆
Red heart super saver is my go to. My grandma always used it so it has a special place in my heart. Plus I still have some of Grandma's old crochet blankets and garments made from red heart that have lasted for years!
Soft n sleek is my #1 favorite. The worsted and the dk. I use the dk with almost everything I make by running a strand of either similar or contrasting color along with my worsted. I made a Japanese knot bag with I love this yarn in a beautiful variegated fall color with a strand of soft n sleek dk pumpkin and omg it's so pretty!!Experiment with it🧡🧡
Here in Australia, the only one on your list that is available in stores is the Lion Brand Heartland. I've used it for one project and it came out so nice and soft. All the others we have to get online, which can get quite expensive with shipping. My go-to acrylic is 4 Seasons 'Marvel'. It's under $5AU a ball and comes in quite a nice range of colours. I do wish we could easily get Caron Simply Soft here because I see it used so often and it always looks amazing.
Red Heart Super Saver (All sizes and styles) Not the softest yarn but definitely durable. I have pieces done with it that are 30 & 40 years old and they still look great.👍🏽
Caron skinny cakes are great. I’ve made a few various sized blankets & even though it’s a size 3 yarn, they’ve been warm & cosy. With Love does soften with a light wash. I've used it for kids ponchos. There's so many suitable yarns for blankets and I generally go for what's on sale. Thank-you.

Hobby lobby yarn! But there’s this one specific anti pilling one, called yarn bee soft and sleek , I have SO much of it cause I just adore it. And it’s very affordable :) my other go -to also has become lion brand basic stitch, but I only buy it on sale
Caron cakes - the original - is taking up a good chunk of the yarn room as well as tons of Knit Picks / WeCrochet varieties - biggest fav is Brava worsted & bulky - so soft & smooth on the hooks ! But that's only half the yarn room - the other half is dk / worsted merinos and superwash merino as well as cashmere and pure wools of all kinds. =)
LB Heartland is literally the only yarn I will use for my temperature blankets. It's so soft and has just the right color variety for my style. Things like Red Heart and Big Twist are just so rough to me despite the value.
I just made my Sister a throw blanket out of the Bernat Baby Blanket yarn for Christmas. She loved it! Or at least, she said she did, lol. It didn't really take that many skeins because of the bulkiness of the yarn, and it was pretty easy to work with, once I got used to it. It's good to know you can wash, and it still holds up, I was a bit worried about that.
As what Susan Terry said, Hobby Lobby's I Love This Yarn is great also my other favorite yarn is Brava from Knit Picks. They both are nice to knit with and perfect for a blanket.

Premier Anti-Pilling Everyday Worsted is a fabulous acrylic yarn with a bit of structure. Worked up, it has a slight sheen and is smooth and supple even before rinsing/blocking.
I've recently discovered Lion brand Heartland yarn too. I love the softness as well as the pretty colors and the Heathered look in the colors. I think for the money it's a great all around yarn. Texas is too hot for anything with wool. So I use acrylic, or a cotton/acrylic blend. My usual faves are Lion Brand Heartland & Basics, Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn & Soft and Sleek. For baby blankets & gifts, Bernat has nice acrylic & cotton options.

When I need to see/feel the yarn, I usually go to Joann or Michaels because I have both options nearby. If I can't get to the store or I know the yarn well, I'll order from Amazon. And if none of those options work....or I find a better sale or deal, I'll order directly from Lion Brand or Yarnspirations. Basically I do a little browsing from all three sources to see where I can find the best deal!

We have our local Home and Crafts store and they have some Caron cakes, halo and some of the lion brand yarn plus they have their own brand which is Value Ball and another called Marvel. I currently am using Stylecraft for a project I actually started a few years ago now, but a group of us have decided to commence making this blanket so here goes I’m hoping to have it done by my Nanas Birthday in August 🤞🏼it is done by then 😊 Take care and stay safe and well. So far I've only knitted a project with it and it was lovely to work with! Plus the color options are right up my alley 😊 Knitting with a yarn can sometimes have a completely different experience than crocheting with it so I'll have to circle back once I have a crochet project for it.
I like a lot of the cake yarns, Caron’s has the best ones. I also like Lion Brand, Hue + Me and Color Theory, both good acrylics, somewhat affordable, more so with big box craft store coupons.

I am using Premiere for 2 temp blankets. I needed to order more. Different dye lot😢. Color is okay match but texture changed. I was told that was to be an expected possibility. I will not use again

I love the softness of I Love This Yarn, I just wish it was anti-pill.
Pound of Love is a great acrylic yarn. Plus there are less ends to have to weave in because of the yardage.
I really love it for blankets too! If this video were "6" Budget-Friendly Acrylic Yarns....it would have definitely been the 6th option!
