I'd say it a winner. There's just something about a classic car/truck that has some patina.

that sauce is pretty much Pentarol u can buy it at home depot. it's $10 it last longer than linseed oil. over all looks great

I can tell a difference in the way that it looks. I wonder how it would look if it was lightly sanded first? That way it would be a little easier to clean. I can only imagine how that microfiber must have drug and stuck as you were going over the surface rust. It looks awesome. I love the car! Thank for the video Travis. Now you can do follow up videos on it.

You could sand it down a little with a fine sandpaper to make the rust service a little smoother, and the application of that product will be also a little shinier after rubbing it down.

I am DEFINATELY using this on my Beetle it has about 80% of a 30 year old cheap paint job on it and pretty much the same exposed spots you have but there is a lot of body filler showing. I guess I will try a small area to make sure it doesn't react but I know I would rather sauce it than flat clear and have to deal with all of the disassembly/ masking.

Looks good, but $40 a bottle . I've seen people use a simple $2 toilet bowl wax ring melted down and applied warm so it spreads. Three or four rings will do a car and being a wax it protects as well. You can add a solvent to the wax if you want it a bit more watery that evaporates soon enough leaving the wax only.
