  • I like taking the same single patch and splitting them between both the A and B sections. There are a few minor tweaks between the two sections of course, the A section I'll use for solo piano playing with some slight filter manipulations while the B section is mainly conducting the arp in the play tick on the arp knob, this basically follows the key strokes and does a catch up, so to say, as there is also delay and feedback being added for dynamic effect. I like being able to create an immersivity effect to keep me going in my solo playing. The Summit never fails to conveniently produce this very basic task.
Since OBS has fixed their NDI plugin, it's less work around for me to set up these recordings again. Thanks for listening. appreciate any comments or tips for solo piano playing and any other recommendations to help me along this Summit playing journey.

@@embazle I've been trying to decide between getting the Summit or the irridium. After watching state azzure playing a single patch on the Summit it has made my decision really really hard. I love the fact that so many of the controls are right there in front of you. With the irridium I always notice they spend a long time in the screen menu.
I like the Oxford oscillators and the tone. It's not a sparkly bright tone like most digital waveform synths.
What are thoughts on your Summit, do you really like it? Is it a keeper?

@@maydaygoingdown5602wow I appreciate that you would ask me this. I wish I had more to tell about the Iridium. It is certainly a beautiful machine/instrument. The interactive LCD and LED knobs are breathtaking but personally it does intimidate me. I am by far not the best patch creator/synthmatician, even the Summit has soooo much over and under the hood. I feel like for anyone… along your synth gas journey you get to a point where either you’ve come to know them all to their unique delight or , to include the know all along with your wizardry of synthesis.. you somehow know that each kitchen is a kitchen but some have better places of conveniences, function etc.. lol. For the longest time I was set on a sequential rev 2. Being that I play by ear on the piano, I wanted the bitimbral convenience, and being able to split patch banks easily together in multi mode, I immediately get to enjoy playing the instrument and not playing mad scientist. There’s a place a time to do both but it depends on who you are and what you love. I’d love to have the iridium it sounds amazing and it’d take me a lifetime to probably to figure it out, but again the Summit while is a beast I’ve given myself enough credit to get around to quickly enjoy it and ponder thru happy accidents in my own creation that’ll set me for a lifetime as well. That is my most honest sincerest feedback for ya I hope it helps!😊

@@embazle Thank you for replying my friend.
I'm definitely leaning more towards the Summit (I think) lol...the more I watch videos of the irridium the more I hear VSTS.
Yesterday I purchased Dune 3, Korg Modwave, Korg wavestate, and Lunaris 2 all on VST to go with my Omnisphere 2.
I added Valhala shimmer and I've pretty much got irridium, just more powerfull. I loaded the Modwave and wavestate along with Omnisphere and lunaris, put them on the same channel in Ableton and made some amazing evolving pads.
So now I'm thinking I would like the Summit for its analog polyphonic tone and having all of those knobs for sculpting sound right in front of you is what I need now.
Shame it doesn't have any sequencer though however I can always midi it to my keystep pro for that if required.
I have put my Hydrasynth desktop and deepmind 12 up for sale to get the deposit needed. Plus I never got on with the Hydrasynth, to much menu diving and I don't like it's tone. Needs someone who doesn't mind spending an hour or two menu diving, I'm getting to old and don't have the patience for that anymore lol.
I want a synth that's more immediate hands on.
The deepmind 12 is pretty good for that however it doesn't sound anything compared to the Summit.

@@maydaygoingdown5602 that’s sounds like an amazing collection of sound pallets to blend into one. That’s another realm I seldom dive into. Got some nice VSTs to get me by but the investment of time to program everything isn’t put into practice enough, it’s a shameful excuse because I desire to record into Ableton and comprise something. I get a few patterns in but eventually run outta time or life’s priorities take me away from producing. I was gonna go the hydra synth route, but the sound palette the Summit offered was truly distinguishable in comparison. I had a deepmind 12 once, loved it, loved how the keys felt, even compared to the summit. It is it’s own synth, but I needed the digitakt and opted to spend more towards a sub37. Sold most of my volcas and my monologue to make a slight dent into to purchase.
Lol, I’m happy to say I can be at rest for a while before the gas kicks in. now I need to learn my synths, and learn ableton, but no rush, it’s been a fun ride!
