Very detailed and explanation of everything, recently picked up a 2011 Wrx Hatch. Went to pull the motor and the trans came with it, previous owner failed to mention he took off the trans support and bolts so I had no idea how they mounted or went or anything so this video helped out so much.

Thank you so much for taking the time to record and upload this video. I'm in my early 50's and I'm replacing the manual transmission in my son's 2008 WRX. I referenced this video several times while removing the transmission. I made the mistake of not strapping the engine down like you did in the video. I couldn't figure out why it was getting hung up even after I had the transmission and engine separated about 2 inches. Anyway I will be picking up the replacement tranny in a few days. I ordered a clutch kit for it, but we are getting the factory flywheel resurfaced. I'm not sure sure about the cheap lightweight flywheels that come in these kits. I will get back to you when it's completed and back on the road. Thanks again. Cheers and Beers!!

Are all four of the driveshaft bolts weighted? Do you need to mark the exact location of where each bolt came out of on the driveshaft? Thought I read somewhere that something to do with the balance of the driveshaft and the balance can be thrown off if things aren't put back a certain way.

Purchased a 2013 Impreza wrx about 6 months ago; had to take it in and finding a replacement transmission is a little difficult for me. I’ve talked to the dealership my car is at for repair, they are willing to install one if I can provide it. But won’t help me with sourcing it, due to liability. I read and read forums I am an unsure if I can use any year 08-14 wrx tran ?? If not what are good options for the 2013 replacement?
