Best straight forward video yet without all the fluff. A little assist on dropping it down when you had help underneath would have been cool, but we got there without too much trouble. I really like your clutch swap video too. Good work.
this video is so helpful!! The Subaru tech said I needed to change the shifter shaft seal on the rear of the tranny due to leakage. They want to charge me $2000!? Honestly, If I take it slow and meticulous I think I could do this my self; replace the seal, upgrade the throwout bearing, clutch fork and upgrade the clutch and fly wheel. I think I can do this and save myself some money in the process!! Thank you!!
I just use a regular jack . There’s a flat spot on the bottom of the trans to jack it up from. You could also use a apiece of wood on a regular jack to make the surface area larger
My man I literally clicked on your video because I thought you were going to show me how to reinstall so do I need a thread some balls to get the seam to cinch up or does it line up flush eventually
I can't get my transmission to slide all the way on. I'm on the studs and having someone tilt the engine so it all slides, but I'm still having issues. I'm replacing the transmission itself so the clutch never came off/got miss aligned
I showed the removal of the 4 gold bolts in the center console area. After you remove them, the hole shifter assembly will drop down and that’s it. There’s nothing else to it

Really glad i decided to watch more than one video. The last one didnt mention the camber bolt at all
Saved this video!! I need to swap out my transmission out of my widebody impreza coupe Bucky inspired project car.
Good luck my friend!

Great video mate much appreciated, I am going to replace the 5 speed in my non turbo this weekend.
Good luck!
I don't even have a subaru (yet) but this video is super well sorted and great explaining
Thank you!
Dude this video helped me so much thank you! Also, the car looks decently clean for a northern car. Surprised it has rockers 😂.
Haha no problem!
great video, but missing filming of the critical part: How did you get it in and out? Did you have a low transmission jack?

I been doing research and all I am finding is only 2005 LGT 5 speed transmissions fit 2005 LGT 5 speeds. What transmission did you replace your with?
Very helpful, thank you!
So I need to access (replace) rear main seal automatic trans, should I pull the engine or the trany? which is easier? thx
Sorry for late response but I would recommend pulling the transmission
Super sweet quad
Mine is a non tabor and can't move have tried to change the gearbox and gearbox sensor but still nothing
2006 sti clutch replacement with Exedy stage 1 kit
Great video, but you don’t show what you do down bottom for the shifter.

@@grays_garage haha i figured that out, my car had some aftermarket stuff so wasn’t the same.
How to remove your transmission: alright, once youve gotten your transmission out
Your for sure not pulling that pin with your hands don't even waste your time, grab some pliers
Thats not a Legacy, its an impreza.
Definitely a legacy and not an Impreza
It’s a legacy 😂🥴
