Jonathan, thank you very much for these videos. My wife and I are first-time Mazda owners after buying our 2022 CX-5 Turbo here in South Florida in September. Now I understand why Mazda made the car with two floor heights in the cargo compartment. The owner's manual explains how to change the level but not why the difference is so short.
Just picked up my Signature Turbo with all the bells and whistles. LOVE IT!

@@DanielSuarez-zn8iw I got every accessory you could get. They comped a lot of things, mainly because at the same time, I bought a 2023 Kia Sportage for my daughter. Paid cash for both so they gave us lots of stuff
@@DanielSuarez-zn8iw I have a 2022 Signature as well. I paid under MSRP for mine. A good dealership doesn't play games with marking up the price b/c of the chip shortage. One reason I love Mazda.
Exactly Mazda keeps pricing simple I just paid for a 2022 Mazda turbo signature with 3,500 miles on it for 36,000 cash I got a great deal on it very happy

Taking delivery of my low mileage 2020 CX5 Turbo tomorrow. Wanted a luxury small SUV but they all take premium gas and this one doesn't. But it comes pretty close to luxury level.
Did you mention ventilated front seats on the Premium Plus? That is what got me to switch from Premium to Premium Plus!

In the UK we have different models.
It's truly a great car, especially for those of us who remember some of the very beautiful cars of yesteryear, but which didn't really have very many features within them, and really were very unsafe.

Omg, the white interior is only appear in North America trims, that looks soooooo cool. I preorder my top trim cx-5 in Aus which has the normal brown Nappa seats. So sad
Our Turbo Signature only has the Nappa Brown leather also.
I think that is Parchment, not white. I drove one with parchment yesterday and it is definitely not white.
Pinstripe does not look good - at all. And you are charging people for it.
We gladly remove the pinstripe if client doesn’t want. No problem.

The pinstripes look cool. Not for everyone but I'd put two stripes on the hood too. They make the car look more sporty, kinda like a Mustang. The small ones don't add that much but that's that.

Does the cx5 still have cylinder deactivation? Some say yes from2018 on others say no. Also another thing people may not know is press open button on remote 3 times fast and then hold and all windows go down. Great video.
Yes still has cylinder deactivation, but I haven’t been able to activate it. Thank you for sharing! We had a question about the windows the other day.
Yes, 2 out of 4 on a freeway and even all 4 deactivated if you release gas pedal or go downhill, this is how I could get 35-38ml/gal going long downhills and using cruise control when the car shuts down all 4 cylinders.

When I got my 2021 CX-5, I didn't want the Cylinder Deactivation, so I got the optional Turbo, which deleted the Cylinder Deactivation. The Turbo is smooth and peppy, although, it will take away 1 mpg. I don't know how the 2022 CX-5 does it.
Does the 2019 CX-5 have the window feature? My 2009 Mazda 6 Sport had this but another video said Mazda stopped putting in that feature.

@@MrRJW2 Amazon of course. Will not cost what Mazda wants to gouge their customers. Even though I would not have plans to place belongings on the roof, I personally like the look of at least high roof rails, possibly with the crossbars. I do not have a CX-5... yet. Waiting for a Hybrid. The concern I have are the rumblings I hear about the possibility of the CX-50 (which I do not like and the cost is a few thousand more) taking the place of the CX-5. That would be a huge mistake since it is their #1 sales vehicle. Cargo-wise between the 2 vehicles is the same. The manufacturers are pushing this "off-road stuff". Well, maybe 2% of the SUVs on the road are taken off-road. Good luck!
They are not planning for the CX-50 to replace the CX-5. It is an addition to their lineup. I don't prefer its look either.

Do you know why the car beeps when driving it? I took it to the dealer and they have no clue. It beep randomly when driving, the music gets low. It’s like receiving a notification on your phone but it happens when my phone is not plug on and when it is?

Yes it does! It requires the map data to function.
@@JSS thanks for answering! I don’t know why but on mine, it just shows speed limit on the nav screen 🥺. FYI mine is the 2022 premium not premium plus, so it doesn’t have HUD.
Is there anyway to install software from dealership or DIY for wireless Android Auto? I know Motorola sells a USB dongle, but having it built in would be nicer.

How's do I setup my climate control where it turns on the heat automatically so that when the car is turned on by the remote, I can come in to a warm car .

I think LED technology has made them a non factor to function and design.
I've had fog lamps on several cars. Never used them.
I bought a 2013 CX-5 Diesel 2.2. it has a breakdown of the cooling system which should cost me more than 6,000 euros. I thought it was a good car

Roof rails are around $400, crossbars around $200

Hi Jonathan, does any of the CX-5 (not the signature trim) have trajectory in its reverse camera? Meaning the lines in the reverse cam move as you move the steering wheel. If NO, can I have it added as a paid feature as it is a deal breaker for me? Appreciate your guidance!

Jonathan or anyone: Just got the Signature and love it! Except the lights. Is there something wrong with my programming or are the projector beam headlights supposed to come on during the day? The commercials I saw only show the "halo" when driving during they day, but both halo and projector beam comes on during the day for me. Even if my light switch is off.
Yes, headlights are on during the day unfortunately.
Hey Jonathan: I just purchase a cx5 down here in Florida. There was no cargo cover in the car. Do you know if that is something that should have been in the car from the factory or is that an additional accessory?
It’s an accessory. It’s something I negotiated in the price!

Yes, the Turbo Signature is paint matched and the Turbo is gloss black cladding.
When can we expect the CX-5 Hybrid Jonathan?
I think that will definitely be a next generation option. So 2024 or 2025.

No wifi Apple CarPlay is number 11. Mazda has it on other 2023 mazda models but why have they not updated the 2022 cx5 to wifi Apple CarPlay????? Just talking about what the car has but not informing you of very important things missing????
Can you change the driving mode while driving or do you have to set that while the car is in park?
You can change while driving. For example you can kick into sport mode to merge onto a highway then turn to normal

I just bought a 2022 CX5, first time Mazda owner, the only thing frustrated me is the auto lock function, sometimes it doesn’t work and left my car unlock for a long period even if I have the “re-lock” in 30 secs and also the apps didn’t notify me that my car is unlocked
Other than that, everything is good, very comfortable and enjoyable
The driver's door has to be the last door closed for it to operate
@@lensilver241 Even if I am the only one in the car most of the time and didn't open any other doors or trunk, it still doesn't work sometimes! It is just unreliable....

Also, you have to stay near your vehicle until you hear the first beep after the last door has closed. Only then can you walk away and you'll hear the 2nd beep and the doors will lock. People sometimes walk away too fast.
@@lensilver241 That’s why it is so dumb, there’s so many “criteria” to make it autolock, you need to be close to your vehicle, driver door must be the last door to closed blah blah blah, I used to drive Honda without any problem and very reliable! Also that 30 seconds without any ppl in the car will be autolock, that never happened, never autolock when nobody in the car, last time it leaves my car unlocked over an hour, this is just too bad

Roof rails and crossbars are not standard, but can be added to any trim.

The major update will come with the CX-80 next year.

Where are the fog lights?
There are no fog lights included from the factory this year.
Ordered a Car Link 3.0 to make my car CarPlay wireless. To bad I have to do so. It is such a small unit and to bad Mazda is not looking after there customers for required technology. If I can buy an add on why did Mazda not provide a factory system? Perhaps Mazda should reimburse me for the unit since they did not provide wireless CarPlay. When you spend $50,000 you expect better. Also no $2000 ish or so discounts for buying a new car like before so if they paid for my Carlink they are still way ahead of the game money wise. When is Mazda going to step up to the plate. They should have at least proved this unit at a discount for the customer for this add on at a reduced price. They could have bought it in bulk and sold it through the dealerships to fix this problem until a proper fix is made.

Does the Cx5 have sensor noise, alert, when backing up? I can't seem to get mine to work.
Only the top Signature trim has the parking sensors. Both front and rear. Mazda should offer this as an option on some lower trims, like the premium plus.
Roof rack?
Available, not standard.
How does that auto braking work on icy roads!?
Scary
If it determines it is safe to apply brakes, it will. Since all CX are standard with AWD computer already knows temperature and traction conditions.

Rav4 base 4 cylinder engine has more horsepower and their infotainment system is 100% touchscreen.
Mazda removed touchscreen for the reason and I think it's better not to have it.
My condolences to you when the 8-speed automatic transmission, and fuel pumps fail, again. The dial and knob that are used to operate the Mazda infotainment system is more comfortable, and safer, than a touchscreen. The touchscreen will keep your eyes off the road longer, and accidents can happen within seconds. Also, you can keep the fingerprints, and arm cramps.

frog lights were too noisy, ribbitting all the time
Gas mileage is bad
Very solid transmission though. I would take that over a CVT
