A tip I read was to use rubber matting used for shelve liner instead of paper. It is suppose to grip better. I haven used it yet as I am just now getting into watching these videos for help in using the one I got in high school back in 1976. I guess it’s an antique now 😅
I like this tension method the most for a RHL. It only uses the same space the loom does, meaning I don't have to worry about limited space around me. I'll definitely be using this method from now on. Thank you very much for sharing! ❤
This is brilliant! I am several metres into a project on my Schact Cricket (on which I always have tensioning issues, much worse than my Ashford) with PERFECT tension. Thanks so much for this video
Hmmmmm.....I like DIY projects and I need help tensioning the warp on my RHL. I'll try this tomorrow! Thanks for taking the time to post your findings.

I always seem to need at least five hands. Am absolutely gonna try this.
Good luck!
Absolutely genius, thank you 😊. Going to Bunnings tomorrow!
Awesome! Let me know how you go!

Glad it was helpful! Best thing I ever did also, makes big projects so much more enjoyable. Thank you 😊
I've just warped my RHL using my new warping board and the warping sticks. So so much easier and I don't have to take over the dining table. ❤
So glad!
Brilliant! Thanks a ton for sharing this idea.
My pleasure!
Very clear instructions, thank you!
You are very welcome ☺️
Brilliant I can't wait to try it
Thank you soooo much

@@RigidHeddleWeavinginBrisbane just found you. I am in Toowoomba. Bit wet!
@debohare674 yes, very damp weather at the minute!
I do this on my eight shaft.
Oh my! Love this thank you!
You are so welcome!
Hi Steph. Can I ask what size (diameter) dowel you used? Thanks.
Luckily, I have been so busy I haven’t removed the stickers yet 😂. It says 16mm.
@@RigidHeddleWeavinginBrisbane Thank you. 🌼
Do the dowels turn (roll) as you roll the warp? Or do the rubber bands hold them tighter than that? Thanks!
Mine stay put with the rubber bands. Hope this helps!
