      Matt, with the help of a couple guys from our Research and Development team, is currently fabricating a tailgate for the truck. They've got some cool plans for it and the video will be released as soon as they're finished. Thanks for the interest.

    On 1:30 the subframe end on the driver side looks like it is bent compared to the passenger side. I have the same "bent" subframe end on my trans am. Should the frame be that way from the factory or is it damaged?.

    This was Great I had 1 question. After epoxy has lost 5 day window before applying filler do you need to re spray another coat or sand to metal in those spots?

  • @KeeleDesign
    @KeeleDesign 10 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I have a question.
    The aluminum bushings you installed. I'm on the understanding that it needs a rubber boot to keep the two metals from touching. As they will corrode quickly when in contact with moisture. Or does the anodized coating keep this from happening?
    ps. I would have been pissed if the host had been leaning that much on my musting

    i am starting a new project in 2 months about from now. i ended up get a 79 z28 rs t top with full spoiler kit from factory o% rust then i got 2 z28 hard tops with no rust all have good bodies plus a extra front clip for a lt camaro same year . then i got a stroked 454 with the heavy duty 400 turbo with the bigger pump and heavy clutches with only 6000 miles on it .one hard top has new interior was a show car but they pulled the engine before i got it . on the t top i have all the parts to have a perfect body no dings the 2 have factory paint so i know what has been dun . this way the car will have a perfect body to start with . the best thing is i got all of it so far free even a set of nice custom wheels . the show car i help build 5 years ago i know everything that was dun to it so i mite just put it back on the road to sell it or trade for more parts

    Here's a tip for you wrap 80 grit paper around a spreader card and rub your door gap down with that
    You can see the results with the door closed and makes gapping more precise

    I'm putting aftermarket fenders on a '99 Dodge Ram plow truck. It seems that the front frame around the radiator is too high and the results are major gaps by the bottom of the doors. I shimmed the fenders up at the hinge, but have lost the body line. Any tips? Great channel. Thanks.

    My argument is if a shopping cart hits that door hard enough to take painted filler off its gonna take paint off that metal edge. Either way that door is going into body shop. But still I like metal to edge same as him.

    question how much fender to door gap? the factory manual looks for around "gulp"1/4" anything less the door hits the fender at the top when fully open especially if i set it "flush"

  • @purplehazenilsp
    @purplehazenilsp 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Question: When you go to block the door and quarter do you do it as if this had not been done and just skim over it all? Or do you have to be careful not to block this area too much so you dont undo some if this work? Not sure if Im making myself understood. Great video though thanks!

    • @eastwoodco
      @eastwoodco  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      You will block sand until it is the condition you want it. Sanding will reveal highs and lows, so there is a chance you will be into previous body work.

    Question : @ 2:22 Kevin has a floor jack adapter to hold the Zed Sled car door. I cannot find this at Eastwood.com, and frankly do not know its exact name. It looks much better than a 4 wheel thing I have with a scissors jack under it. Part number?, name? source? Thanks!! PS Great Video guys , thanks for your help in the hobby

    Thanks for the video Kevin . Very educational. I do have a question. I want to ask about the bracket that you had attached to your floor jack which was used to hold the door in place as you set the door up. Is this attachment bracket something that can be bought or something homemade. Looks like a winner to me! Thanks in advance..

    I'm not sure as to why you need to panel beat and fill a door which is manufactured originally for this car. Surely it should fit if aligned properly.

    • @vr6swp
      @vr6swp 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +MsCelicagt4 Doesn't work that way. Body fit on 60's and 70's cars wasn't ever that great to begin with, and cars flex / shift with time and use or abuse.
