  • Friends, Family, Men, Women, and Children; welcome to our channel. Ryan and Rachel here, we are weekend warriors exploring Pennsylvania and beyond; with our daughter Sarah, son William, and our two dogs (Trigger and Lilly). Our 2019 Wildwood X-Lite is towed behind our new 2021 RAM 2500 BigHorn. We hope you will subscribe, join us on some of our adventures and be inspired to go on your own adventures.
    In this Episode:
    We talk about our first 6 months owning a 2021 RAM 2500. We answer your comments left on the reveal video, and talk about why we chose RAM over Ford and GM trucks.
    **This Video is about our experiences with our truck. Please READ your own vehicle’s owner’s manual and refer to it for any specifications and setup instructions. We do not recommend that you exceed any of your vehicles specifications or limits set by the manufacturer. Do your own research as it relates to any of this subject matter.**

    Here's what I've learned about people....they have really strange thoughts based on hear say and trends. Now Here's what I've learned from owning my 6.4 3500 SRW since 2014. Mopar batteries are not that good...but after regular maintenance and oil changes I am in love with my truck. Never has failed besides the battery dying twice during ownership and the key fob being replaced because the battery died sand wouldn't pair with the truck. 2014 tradesmen has floor 4x4 shifter and traditional column shifter. I plan to upgrade the battery to an AGM Odyssey.

      @mountainsintomemories  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, people tend to throw facts out the window these days. I think all the manufacturers produce pretty good trucks these days. I still love my 6.4, and it does everything I ask of it. I haven’t had battery issues yet, but will probably be replacing with an AGM at some point.

      I have a 2015 Ram 2500 6.4L. I just replaced the original battery this past February. I've plowed with it from its first winter up to this one. I'd call almost eight years and 90K miles pretty good.

    2019 ram did necessary upgrades to 6.4 lifters/oil pressure and they appear to be very reliable engines now mated to 8 speed trans.

      I personally have not seen much about it. The 8 speed is a very reliable transmission though.

    It is hard to get use to plowing snow with that knob. But over time iam getting use to it. Plus my plow controller is closer to the knob making it easier.
    I have to get that tailgate cover for sure now. Thanks
    I get the PUP from the dealership, my first time buying it there was $11 qt buy now since I been buy it there over time iam getting it a $9 a qt. I ask if they lower the price they said no, it was that iam a return customer and I get a little discount and more I buy from them I get a little bit more off.
    I know that one our auto parts stores does the same thing with there customers.

      Interesting, 9$ a quart would be cheaper than the Amazon kit. I’ll have to see if that’s a standard procedure.
      You’ll definitely like the TechLiner. If I didn’t have a cargo glide, I’d get that for the whole bed.

      Yeah, they have been for a while. The dial just isn’t as user friendly, especially for plowing snow. We just got a 22 tradesman at work for this purpose and it’s really not easy. I also don’t like that it shifts itself to park if you open a door.

    Hv 18 Ram 6.7, thinking of trading with Ram 6.4 Mega Cab. Gas here in California is almost $7 per gallon, traffic sucks here. I'm just worried about that ticking n camshaft issues
    . Hopefully they fix the problem already by next year.

    • @mountainsintomemories
      @mountainsintomemories  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you don’t let your truck sit and idle (which wastes a lot of that 7$ gas) you won’t have issues with the Hemi. If you’re really concerned, you can look at a HellCat oil pump, which is a higher volume pump and will give better pressure at idle.

    Hi thanks for taking the time in making these videos. Wanted to ask you, is it common to hear minor wind noise on the passenger side when going over 70 mph? In my 2022 tradesman crew cab It sounds as if the window is slightly open and you hear the wind but its only on the passenger side i hear this when im on the highway. Its not unbearable but slightly noticable. Just curious if this is something common with rams especially 2500's? Thanks for your time

    • @mountainsintomemories
      @mountainsintomemories  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I do hear some wind noise, I’ve always attributed it to the vent visors I installed, but I really don’t know what the cause is. I always have the radio on, so I usually forget about it.

    Have you thought of getting an aux tank? Im looking into getting a Ram 2500 Hemi. Cant find 4.10 rear end though kinda shitty. But my TT is 9,000 and not looking to go much heavier if we do get a bigger one we full time travel for my work.

    • @mountainsintomemories
      @mountainsintomemories  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’m looking at the Titan aux tank that fits over the wheel wells. If I decide to get it there will be a video about it. It would definitely help, especially when we head south this fall. You could probably get away with the 3.73 if you’re towing on mostly flat ground. I got the 4.10 because we seem to hit steep grades on our routes.

    I'm playing catch up I just Watched this video. The problem with the cummings or any diesel is the expense of maintenance in my opinion.

    • @mountainsintomemories
      @mountainsintomemories  ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree, I would also say expense of repairs if something were to break. The Hemi maintenance isn’t really cheap either with the SRT oil requirement. My old truck I was able to run much cheaper oil.

    I don’t like the pass side mirror on my 2022 Ram 2500. It’s 1:1 making vision like a laser beam (very narrow) and the convex mirror is tiny. Most vehicles pass side main mirror are slightly convex.

    How does the Hami preform in the mountains and how bad is it on the mpg

    • @mountainsintomemories
      @mountainsintomemories  ปีที่แล้ว

      The Hemi with 8 speed and 4.10 gears does great in the mountains. I’ve had no issues keeping 70mph on interstates in West Virginia which has some steep grades. Most other east Coast states I can use cruise control set at 70, no drama. Mpg is anywhere from 7-11 towing depending on terrain, wind, and weather. Generally it gets about 8.5mpg.

      I would’ve liked it better if it was 4.0L instead of 3.0L. I think it’s a great option for 1500 trucks though. I do like in-line 6 cylinders, so it has potential. I won’t be first in line to buy one in an HD.
