  • Living with type 1 diabetes? Perhaps a little story will help you feel less alone and more understood. Cyrus Khambatta's life took a sudden turn when he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 22. And in this clip, he shares his experience of discovering his illness, from the first telltale signs of excessive thirst and urination to the shock of being rushed to the ER with blood glucose levels over 600.
Of course, Cyrus knew very little about diabetes then, and his confusion was compounded by the stereotype of it being a disease associated with old people who ate too much candy and cake.
Keep watching to see the human side of living with autoimmune diseases, which led him to become a passionate advocate for diabetes education and awareness.
Also, join the conversation and share your own experience or knowledge of diabetes in the comments below. We'd love to hear it.

Similar story here my appendix ruptured. My blood sugar was +500 and a1c was 15. They told me I was in between type 1 and 2. Never heard of anything Ike this but doing my best to manage. Love this channel. Thanks for sharing your story. ❤

I’ve had the same situation of being hospitalized and having a virologist, a neurologist and my doctor the three in their 60s telling me they never even heard of a case like me in 40 years and having a university lab make a case study on me (Epstein Barr infection at 23 turning into a meningitis). And indeed received no help after. Thankfully Cyrus found great answers to one of his illness and helps thousands of people taking care of their health

Cyrus, out of interest, did you have any recent vaccines around the time this happened to you. We now know the links with vaccines & all sorts of chronic diseases, including autoimmunity.

I believe he is a vegan. That would explain the autoimmune issues. Same old story. I hear it a lot. Not until people take control of the health, like Makayla Peterson and her Dad Jordan Peterson did. Becoming carnivore and letting their bodies heal naturally. And its faster than any drug.

@@Technichian462 hello. Diet patterns don't trigger autoimmune diseases. Diet can improve symptoms though. Greetings
