- Destiny 2's Lore and Story tell us about how the Witness has punished Eramis and the House of Salvation for failing to recover the reliquaries of Nezarec last season. Now Xivu Arath and her hive are overseeing the punishment of the Eliksni of Riis Reborn, who are being turned in Scorn and Wrathborn.

The lore tab of one of the seasonal weapons furthers this narrative when the witness presents Eramis with a friend turned scorn and she tries searching their eyes to find any humanity that’s left

I believe her partner and younglings were either lost after the great drift, after Riis fell or, her partner took the younglings and left Eramis do to how she was handling the fall of Riis and becoming ruthless. I believe there was a lore tab or lore book last season that addressed just that.
The fear in Osiris' voice when he saw the cryptolith was great. He hasn't just shrugged off the traumatic events he went through. Seeing those again when the last time he saw them, he lost Sagira and then his body.
It wasn't just fear, it was rage and hatred. Osiris is a Warlock at heart, he wants to learn, to understand. Surely an appearance of a cryptolith on Europa, out of nowhere, would spark his curiosity, and we have seen similar types of events do so in the past (the Vex, Corridors of Time, Rasputin). But with the Cryptolith and the Wrathborn, all he can think of is Xivu, Kinox, and the High Celebrant who defeated him and thus led to the death of Sagira, his constant companion during the centuries without Saint, his only other true friend and partner. And remember he could not truly grieve Sagira since he was almost immediately possessed by Savathun. Fear, rage, grief, heartbreak, hopelessness, and loneliness. All of these emotions he ties back to Xivu and her cryptoliths and her Wrathborn. Especially so soon after his emergence from the coma. It's all still just as fresh and raw for him as it was 2 years ago when it all happened.

My theory from last season's end, now looking a little more likely, is that Eramis will in someway, give her life to save either Eido, or some other reason, and later be brought back as the first Eliksni light born.
This fits in with the idea that "Eramis" won't get to/doesn't deserve to have a place in the future of Eliksni she sees in Eido.
It seems to follow the same irony that the traveller did with Savathun. The first light bearer of their race was one their most powerful leader, a wielder of darkness and someone who was once a sworn enemy of the traveler

Osiris is pissed off in this season. Makes sense really. He usually studied the vex, and not long after him beginning his studies on the hive, he lost Sagira.
To rub salt in the wound, he was possessed by Savathûn. I dare say he is seeking some revenge on the hive
Makes sense, especially considering who bested and spared her last season. So far it seems like the myth of the curse of Nezzerac is just a myth made by an unreliable source, which is honestly kinda great. I like twists where the twist is that the twist doesn't exist at all, it's kinda nice.
I wouldn`t be so sure about that. We know that Nezzeracs consciousness is still there and that he talks to someone by wispering. Mithrax heared wispers, when he studied the relics. Nezzarec could have manipulated him or possessed him, without him knowing.
Osiris is maybe himself right now, but he could turn into Nezzarec by the end of the season.

Idk Osiris is acting kinda weird again a lot more violent. Which one could argue is somewhat appropriate considering what he’s been through lately but it can’t be ignored.
@@adarkwind4712 fair, but he's been influenced by Savathuns memories. Savathune spend hundreds of years following the sword logic, a philosophy which is inseparable from aggression.
I fear Osiris as much as Clovis. Possessed by Savy, then his coma is broken by a tea made from Nezarec’s ooze. He’s got the potential to do more damage to us than Clovis.

To become Wrathborn is to experience the death of the self, in much the same way that becoming a Scorn first requires the death of the body. Ironic that this is the case, when much of what we are learning about the Darkness in the past year has to do with living memory, both in objects and in the mindscape.
Already felt kinda bad for Eramis considering the whole Athrys situation- but *damn*. Aight. The Witness rlly doesn't play around.
So with Eramis’ failure being quite grim and unsettling the same could be said about Rhulk and seeing how terrified he was when he started sprouting vines… well it seemed very horrendous.
Eramis's reaction to *Once-Phyris* is actually chronicled within the lore of one of the first weapons you receive at the end of the first mission of the season. Path Of Least Resistance documents her exact reaction to first seeing her friend reborn as a Scorn. Eramis feels powerless to stop what is becoming of her House of Salvation.
Eido does continue to send messages to Eramis as seen in the Intercepted Transmission Sparrow, however we don't know if she is responding to them. The new trace rifle also has lore with Eramis being showed Phyris from The Witness. I think she gets bit when it states "...part of her is grateful when Phyris sinks teeth into the flesh of her forearm,".
I always imagined Byf would play a warlock.
Now I realize he is more like the Orc at the colleges of winterhold that oversees the library.

When it shows the warlock gameplay it says “via destiny lore vault”.
He only plays Titan in his video this year because of the charity stream
If you spend enough money , you was able decide which class he plays
But we do see Lore Daddy floating around as a warlock in background footage. A lot of this is probably pov of Martin
The dynamic of Mara Sov, Osiris, Ana Bray and Clovis in dialog is some of the best this season. Especially between Mara and Clovis or Clovis and Osiris

Three of the most egotistical characters in the setting being put in a room together and immediately butting heads is greatly amusing.
i think this could become a breaking point for eramis. Predictably she either will ally with us, since we actually fight for eliksni, or her becoming completely rogue. While the first sounds more likely due to all the hints to her caring character but she is stubborn, so i doubt it's just like "Hey guys, I hated u but u gud so i join u".
I can imagine eramis might be willing to work with us in temporary truce sort of thing out of desperation

I don't think Eramis would be able to hide. Because The Witness whispers to her. He would know where she is. I think Eramis can feel The Witness's anger toward her. And she is force to watch her people turn into Scorn. And if she turns on Him, Either she turns back into Stasis or She will Scorn too. That's what i think.
Well its not clarified if he needs to know her whereabouts. Its a spiritual connection
Even though she has other Guardian fireteams, Vanguard frames, defensive positions, and the power/knowledge of hive magic, and stasis at her disposal, it’s a wonder Eris hasn’t been overrun by the Hive, Fallen, and now Scorn on Luna. They all possess many footholds on the moon. Though I suppose Eris, our, and Savathun’s recent years of purging the Hidden Swarm have substantially killed many of the hordes of Hive that lived there.
Don't forget the Vex squatted on the Moon previously, not to mention the presence of the Leviathan overhead, too.
Like damn, every single enemy type in the game's practically been on the Moon, barring Riven and Rhulk. It's a free-for-all up there.
She might not actually be on Luna any more, and if so she's not necessarily standing in that exact spot. The game world isn't an accurate reflection of where things are.

According to the lore, and the story recently, she’s often visited Eroupa and other locations for a short time to do something important there or meet with someone in person. I hope we read/see Osiris and Eris interact. Having once lost her Light long ago, and it being a traumatic experience, not to mention turns in which she didn’t trust herself, and the City once not trusting her, she’d be the one to relate most, and best help Osiris navigate his last life. More importantly, Eris could help Osiris find purpose in his last life without the Light, as she has.
regarding the scorn, if I remember correctly from the Witch Queen campaign, Fynch suggested that the scorn were being created by someone who was NOT the Fanatic, as we've seen in the past. Seems the new scorn may be created by this other entity (Witness or something else), whom we haven't met yet.
The throneworld has scorn labeled as “chosen by the fanatic” which does imply he’s seeking the darkness I wouldn’t count him out.
7:39 just regarding the origin of the Scorn and the ability to make them: I think the first sign of their arrival in Foresaken being “Dark Ether” is key. If the Eliksni derived their higher state of living (that being in their golden age every Eliksni was at least the size of a Fallen Captain) via methods given to them by the Light, it only makes sense that the Darkness can invert that. The concept of undeath is taboo in Hive society but if a Taken being with the power to alter reality in a whim was asked “give my people new life disconnected from the Traveler and its servitors”, flipping their natural state of flourishing through ether into a dour state of undeath is both poetically simple as befits servants of the Witness and cruelly ironic as Ahamkara always seem to be.
So, with this revelation, the question is this, will Eramis break her loyalty to the Witness and serve as… somewhat as a neutral force in Sol? I’m still hoping that Eramis and what remains of House Salvation will join Mithrax and the Guardians. It’s unlikely, I know, but a man can dream, right?
She'd at least consider it given her thoughts at the end of the last season and watching her people be killed and enslaved
It's pretty likely, literally every bad event that has happened to eramis has been the result of the witness, directly or indirectly
Yknow the prophecy dungeon? After reading more of the lore I kinda want house light to become a dual Kell house, the Kell of light and the Kell of dark, hell maybe even rename the house to House of Hope or something, really lay things on thick

So excited to see the Scorn, Hive of Xivu Arath, and House Salvation converge as forces of the Witness. Now I just await for more lore on the Taken and Sol Divisive regarding the manner.
I just realized how Osiris and ana's story collision with colvis bray is probably one of the best story connections we've had in a long time. I mean they're both the main character of previous DLC which gives them more weight as characters alteady
I have to imagine they play a very important role in the story shift coming in the next 2 DLCs
I’m glad I’m not the only one who sees Eramis turning on the Witness. The end of the last season shows she respects Eido and with the Witness’s disrespect and treatment of her people Eramis is way more likely to take Eido’s invitation.
I’d probably see that story goes as an enemy of my enemy kind of situation with a temporary truce but either Eramis dies and House salvation blames us or something or she stabs us in the back once we’ve outlived our usefulness to her
When it comes to clovis, he obviously has a planet sized ego, but he also is a cold and calculating genius who is definitely smart enough to understand that crossing the guardians won't end well, in fact he's helping us now because he doesn't want his legacy tarnished by being the one that refused to help. So yes I think he's somewhat trustworthy as long as we can keep the odds of us winning high enough
Can we talk about how Xivu Arath has been a faithful servant and puppet to the Darkness and the Witness

Her mission in life is war, and serving the witness allows her to wage endless war
@Lightstation Orxy was still kind of a solo/lone/Rouge operatives. Even though he thought of himself as one but was still a pawn of the Witness's game

I love that both Clovis and Osiris' massive ego's finally get to battle each other
I can now see a situation where Eramis will turn on the witness... die and then get turned into a Guardian.
Now that would be a redemption arc even better than Mithrax's
I've been thinking for a while now that if the Eliksni ever do get granted the light, Mithrax won't be the first Eliksni Guardian. I think it'll either be Eido or Eramis.
It's funny to see how unaware Clovis is to the threat of the hive. He does not know the full extent of what they are capable of
I think it's very possible that if we don't hear from Eramis by the time Lightfall rolls around, she could very well end up being one of the major bosses in the next raid (as a Scorn)

This season will be crazy. Eramis is a wild card now. Clovis Bray isn't the type to help anyone unless it's in his best interests. He's already sampled The Darkness before, so him trying to get more power from The Darkness is very possible. Why else is he being so inquisitive in regards to the Ascendant Plane, and The Darkness. I feel for Osiris on a deeper level. His mind, and body were used without his consent by Savathun. He's now in full control, but he's enraged. This is not a calculating Osiris we're dealing with here. This a man that was taken advantage of in multiple forms. Hopefully he's able to work through it.
And yet u feel Osiris is also a bit wiser now give his conversation with Ana about appreciating the people around her
I'm thinking Eramis will be back near the end of the season, either as a Scorned/Wrathborn foe (inciting an emotional response of some kind), or as a surprise ally.

Did anyone else notice in the launch trailer for this season that in the Clovis looking area there’s a fallen enemy that looks like Prakis but with scorn skin?

I haven't forgotten about Clovis' involvement with the vex gate, and I certainly haven't forgotten about the Long Slow Whisper. The second he went into that body; I knew he couldn't be trusted.
Man, Eramis keeps on losing. First Arthrys, then what happened in Beyond Light, then in Plunder, and now her House is being punished for it. It really makes me wonder what she'll do. Will be just hide? Serve the Witness out of fear? Cme to us with no other choice? Or perhaps the Witness turned her into Scorn as well. 🤔
Man, having Eramis come back as a scorn boss in Lightfall year or Final Shape year would be amazing. Just really cap off her failures.
Wow the House of Salvation faced a fate worse than death. I hope Eramis comes around realizing that the Witness does not care despite providing whispers of comfort and hope at first.
After Eramis being incased in Stasis , essentially getting trapped in the power given to her, I wouldve assumed she would turn away a bit from the Darkness
But with this , I believe its near guarenteed that Eramis will have a change of loyalty when she finds out what is happening to her followers

Her homeworld got decimated by the witness, the witness tempted her with power and corrupted her, then imprisoned her, only to release her on probation, then had xivu enthrall and subjugate her house after she failed. But no, it's those darn guardians that are the real enemy
Its not that she likes What shes doing. Its that she doesnt see any other way. Imagine being trapped inside a dangerous gang Who Can track you down anytime, how do you get away from that. And where would you go?
She already knows, she directly interacted with Once Phyris.
I never thought I’d use the term “naive” to describe Clovis Bray. But this reaction to Xivu Arath and the Wrathnorn would seem to indicate a frivolously misplaced sense of control. One that was probably planted in him by the Witness in the first place.
I mean, to be fair he probably doesn't know much about Eliksni much less the hive.
Hubris and narcissist are probably the best words to describe Clovis. It’s not that he’s naïve about the Wrathborn but rather that he can’t imagine being unable to control and exploit just about anything.
I think Clovis is the most interesting character in the game right now. He's one of a few characters that actually remember the golden age so clearly. But he has little knowledge of anything post collapse which is why he won't accept the power of Hive gods etc. It'll be interesting to see how he reacts those powers
I'm surprised you didn't cover the Path of Least Resistance (Trace Rifle) lore tab. It gives a perspective from Eramis when she is presented Phyris from The Witness.
That lore doesn't show in the companion app. Gonna have to boot up the game and see, seems the lore this season is gonna be juicy.
it's interesting to hear Mara talk about someone's hold over the Scorn. I know they can devolve to be mindless and are maybe susceptible to mind control, but The scorn barons themselves seemed awfully free willed and rebellious (as well as savage). makes u wonder if they can be freed.
Personally, I’m very excited for the return of Kelgorath, Risen from Bones, as he is slowly becoming a more important figure under Xivu Arath.

i think Eramis will have a moment of clarity sometime during Lightfall. i am hoping we get a scene where she makes a personal sacrifice, or that her death is at least a poignant one. i don’t see her as being as unfeeling or unempathetic about her actions like Xivu or Calus. Her story feels like one that is still developing and growing.
Also pictures on the Bungie website show what looks to be Praxsis, The Technocrat with scorn skin, so he probably got resurrected too, this means we could see scorn Taniks, Skolas, Axsis, and other major fallen from the past.

In my opinion Eramis was DEFINITELY punished herself. Perhaps she would accept her punishment by the Witness, as a way to try and spare her people from whatever punishment that may be to come. However she was punished by watching HER House be killed and turned into Scorn, before being killed herself. Maybe turned back into a Stasis statue or maybe just killed, not turned into Scorn since The Witness has no more use for her.
What happens if we see Eramis as a scorn? As bad as it sounds for the story she has going, it would really hammer home the ruthless nature of the witness.
Since a patch during the season of the Risen, all scorn bound to the Witness wear purple armor. Those, who not, wear old yellow armor (I assume such scorn bound to Fanatic); you can find them in Gambit and Dreaming City. I noticed that yellow-helm scorn were defending beam-relics during Moon mission (beam-relics used to decimate hive runes). I am pretty sure that this is an error, but maybe this is a sign that (a) Fanatic assists the Witness or (b) the Witness has stolen some scorn from Fanatic.
Erimis knew her people might die when opening the Vex portal back in Beyond Light so who’s to say she won’t do it again. I kind of hope she doesn’t join us. I’d rather see her become either a disciple or servant of the Witness. Plus it seems like the Witness can take away her control of Stasis since last season it allowed her to be in control. So the Witness could just freeze her again and she probably knows that
To the communications of Eido, I'd say your hunch might be correct, check the lore tab of the "Intercepted Transmission" sparrow from this season. It doesn't confirms anything, but it's a "might" of the situation.
Kinda hard to say one way or another what's going on with Eramis. All of the proposed concepts you mentioned are very possible. My belief is something in the lines of "all of the above." Personally I believe that the witness has Eramis captured within a pyramid, possibly the one on Europa where she is being forced to watch her house being turned into scorn in front of her very eyes. Once her house is in ashes, and all in thrall to Xivu Arath, she too will be made wrath born. However this could lead to a rescue mission by us where she will either give information about the witness as payment and will otherwise take a ketch with her remaining house and leave Sol to disappear forever, or maybe she will be granted a "divine revelation" by the Traveler and will henceforth serve under Misraacks in the house of light and may undergo a "redemption arc" as the story progresses.
you can also note when going over mindless armies of the darkness, I've been playing through season of the haunted and I believe its Eris who notes that all crewmembers now about the leviathan are single minded clones that will never waiver from Calus, essentially an extension of his will.
'Eramis cares for her own people' Flash back to beyond light intro of her fisting one of her own servitors just to demonstrate the power of their newly acquired stasis powers.
To be fair though, most Kells have to put on a show of strength or lest they lose it to a subordinate or challenger. Most Kells, ironically, tend to be killed by those seen as inferior compared to them. Craask was betrayed by Uldren and Fikrul, Solkis was killed by Saint-14, Scarred Kell was likely betrayed and killed by Taniks, Draksis and Skolas were killed by the player, and Eramis was not only humiliated, but defeated by us using the same power she had. This is simply a fate for the ruthless Kells.
So considering Eremis being the last Big Fallen bad guy. I feel like she needs a W.

No chance Clovis doesn’t join up with Team Witness. I would call it “betrayal” but frankly I don’t think anyone feels he has ever been an ally.
i will never stop hoping for Eramis to become the first Eliksni guardian so she can be part of their new future without the trauma of the Whirlwind, but i fear what might happen if she became a Scorn instead
I really hope that if Clovis doesn't play turncoat by the end of the season, he gets a nice kick in his self esteem. We already know that Clovis is capable of being genuinely good thanks to our gunsmith friend, imagine how strong the Light side would be with two copies of one of the smartest beings in human history.
I'm not convinced Eramis will entirely flip sides and work with us, but it feels more and more likely that we will form an alliance of convenience with her against the Witness at a critical moment. She already saved Eido from the Lucent Hive at a similar juncture, and now the Witness makes foul transgressions against her people. Both times, the Eliksni people - Eramis's most valued treasure - were threatened. Time will tell if she once again will set aside her differences with us for the sake of her own kind.
This is interesting, this might lead to Eramis not having complete loyalty to the witness

I believe Eramis after the season of Plunder would continue on, and always be, a rogue element. A mysterious ally only in specific circumstances when it serves her cause as well, but also not necessarily in the way of Eido and the forces of the Traveler either.

Eramis becoming a wild card? A very strong possibility now we know how the Witness 'punishes' failure by his 'chosen'........something both Calus and Clovis should take note of. As for Clovis Bray, he does bear watching because he WILL betray us all at the drop of a hat.
I wonder if we bring Rasputin back to full strength, or near enough, will he take over the exo frame with clovis still attached to it? I'm pretty sure Rasputin would see Clovis as a clear threat, especially if he detects clovis was a disciple of the Witness.
I feel like Clovis thinks he's above all paracausality and probably thinks that he can take out The Witness and The Traveler.
Anyone else notice Osiris voice change when you see the first criptoglith on eroupa. He sounds scared and or scared.
My hope would be the big reveal at the end when activating Rasputin is Clovis tries to betray it, just to have a failsafe Rasputin put in place centuries ago override it and delete out CLovis and turn him in to a submind for dirty tricks. Just for Rasputin to tell us "Thanks for the revive, but I always knew that guy sucked so I had a few different subroutines designed specifically to erase him if he tried anything dumb"

As much as I don't want to believe it, I think you're right about Clovis. He may very well pledge his allegiance to the Witness, or perhaps continue said allegiance, and conversely, Eramis might just join the side of the Light after seeing what the Witness and Xivu have done. I used to be convinced we'd see Savathun's resurrection at the end of this season prior to Lightfall, but now I'm thinking that'll happen later.

Armor set: The lore talks about how Osiris has been doing after he awakens and how some of the people react still, having doubts. Ikora and Saint discussing it, Osiris been hunted by the Warlock Aunor, Saint and Osiris sharinga touching moment, and Osiris seening Saladin working with the Cabal

Quria was able to simulate Oryx, and Savathun controlled the Taken for a while through it, then Riven, and then Xivu Arath. Finally, there is Rhulk, the first disciple. If all these beings in service to the Witness use Taken as a part of their army in some capacity, then it may be no small surprise that The Witness is the source of the Taken, their one true master.

I think Eramis is either frozen again and we have to free her, or she has lost all her power and is locked up somewhere. As for Clovis Bray, I am highly suspicious that he will attempt to take control of Rasputin and try to fight these "fairy tales" on his own with Rasputin's weapons and assets. Clovis will either fail miserably, or Rasputin will wrest control away from Clovis at the last minute and do something spectacular.

Clovis is right about one thing, as sus as he is. Everything can be quantified and controlled. Ghaul controlled the light with technology. It comes from a machine to begin with. He made a quip about what hive seals are in one of the missions and I found it interesting and it got me thinking about the nature of the light and darkness as well as hive "magic"

Yeah, I fear Osiris has another manifestation thing happening. First it was Savathûn, and now he might have some traces of Nezarec inside him due to the fact that he drank a tea with Nezarec's literal body parts and his Darkness.
