wow that's a large ecodisc! I wonder how challenging it was for KONE to develop this system for that high a max capacity. That motor definitely sounds epic!
Can you make a video talking about the dangers of entering lift shafts, what you look for etc also do all shalfs have space at the top so the operator won't die? or have you seen some where if you rode to the top you'd get hurt?
I’ve never surfed them before, and have no intent to. You need to know what your doing in shafts tho. And from watching people it seems like if you can duck lower than the rails on top of the car, you should be fine. THIS IS NOT PROFESSIONAL ADVICE, THIS IS JUST AN ASSUMPTION,
That's a big lift! Very common in Ikea's. Sadly Ikea's in the netherlands use Orona lifts in their newer stores. Maybe the older MX10 4:1 0.5 m/s was still a bit more price competitive then the MX20 2:1 1.0 m/s? That must be the reason for it to exist, like it's a cost reduced version for when the capacity is more important then the speed.
This is as much as Ecodiscs MRLs can take I think. I've never seen an Ecodisc with a higher capacity that is MRL. The 5000kg Ecodisc MRLs I saw were of the older model from the mid 2000s, possibly using MX20 motors with a speed of 0.5m/s
Overload the lift with tungsten cubes placed next to each other to raise the floor of the lift. (You can use lead or tungsten carbide or just mild steel)
They have 3 of these at IKEA reading car park - they appear to have loads of issues with them as at least one of them is almost always out of service when I’ve visited. I wonder why they have so many issues with them?
That lift can hold 66 people!!!! *THAT IS A CRAZILY MASSIVE CAPACITY FOR A LIFT WITHOUT A MOTOR ROOM! HOW ON EARTH CAN THIS LIFT HOLD 66 PEOPLE OR 5000 KG WITHOUT A MOTOR ROOM?? IT ALSO GOES 1M A SECOND?!?!?!?! HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?!?!*

Kone has push their limits AGAIN, In india there is a 1 elevator that can carry 6000 kg 8:1 at 0.7m/s, And it's not an MRL, It's an MX100 Improved version
I wonder what motor the main Ecodiscs at Westfield White City/Shepherd’s bush have then. They all have loads of 2000kg (26 persons) but all go at least 1.6m/a (if not 2 or 2.5)
wow that is so big you could probably fit a full sized SUV in it and it could probably move with something like that since SUVs on average weigh about 3500 pounds and this beast can hold 5000 pounds Im not sure what 5000 KG translates to in pounds but I took a guess
OK so that motor looks small on video but it is huge in realife (I remember seeing clear lift shafts with ecodiscs in it and it looked small on video but in real life they are HUGE)
Beno is the only person on earth to go to Ikea voluntarily.
I do all the time. I love the Swedish meatballs they have.

I think falling down the shaft would be the main danger then getting fingers, hands and arms crushed, trapped and ripped off in things.
There is a lift at my local shopping centre that can hold 4000KG Ecodisc of course, still a crazy amount it can hold!
That's a big lift! Very common in Ikea's. Sadly Ikea's in the netherlands use Orona lifts in their newer stores. In IKEA Duiven they use Shindler Generics, Not Orona. But it is not really a 'old' ikea.
In Australia, we have 4000 kg 1.6 m/s EcoDisc's and 5000 kg Schindler EuroLifts
...You mean 2600? Also it seems Australia has much larger lifts than normal (often places that would have 1,200 kg would have a 2,000 instead).

@@benolifts the cab was very well build with top of the range Doors and a big chassis, but the building only had 5 floors. Maybe 1.6m/s was to fast

USA there’s nothing mentioned for larger that 2268 KG including their machine room ones. Anything bigger you need to commission I guess.
What's the best way to get in touch, I've found an underground navy store for sale, if you wanted to film it you could probably blag a viewing.

We have monster ecodiscs in our IKEAs in Australia. Not as big as this though!!
That's one massive lift.
A lift that goes 1 m/s? wow! So fast for a freight
I’ve seen 1.6 m/s Kone Transys.
The MX20+ is definitely one of the greatest lift motors ever made. So is the MX20.
Especially with the newer VF drives. Kone do make the best MRL motors that still feel substantial compared to the minature jokes of the Gen2 and 5500.
In the US KONE made a one-off 8500 KG ecodisc that goes around 1 m/s. Probably not MRL.
11024 LBS is INSANE for an EcoDisc MRL
It could do 10000 kgs in 8:1 at 0.5 meters per second THAT WOULD BE CRAZY
It’s weird at Dubai Wafi Mall there is a 1800 kg 2021 MX20+ Ecodisc that goes 1.3 (1.0) m/s…
Kone or Schindler? Not the lift but I like Schindler 2nd and Kone 1st
Béno, try using KLEEMAN’s lift tester
DISCLAIMER: the speeds are a bit estimated
