- My 2nd solo multi day thru hike, travelling up the middle of the Lake District National Park and Cumbria.
First day was tough with the weather but it got progressively better and more enjoyable as the days went in. It is a lot tougher than the West Highland Way with the rolling hills, stake pass and eventually high pike, it is a physical challenge.
Accommodation:
Night 1 - Coniston Hall Campsite
Night 2 - Baysbrown Farm Campsite
Night 3 - Denton House Hostel
Night 4 - Caldbeck Camping
Kit:
Tent - Naturehike Cloud Peak 2
Sleeping bag - Berghaus Transition 300 XL
Sleeping mat - OEX Flux 5.0
Pillow - Flextail
Pump - Flextail 2.0
Bag - Vango 70/80L
Video Equipment - GoPro Hero 10/Samsung
Lovely video - thanks for sharing!
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it
Awesome. We'll done
Thank you for watching.
Very good mate, really enjoyed your journey.............your commentary was spot-on throughout, easy to follow and very ''matter of fact''... (which is a breath of fresh air compared to most youtube videos which usually come across as ''I know everything about long distance hikes and the countryside, I have all the best gear and you should do it like me'')..... You avoided all those self importance speeches and came across as totally genuine, for me its one of the best Cumbria-way videos. You dont need to know all the names of the fells just as long as you know how to get from A to B on a daily basis. You are right to be wary of cattle too(a warning to all)............the piece near to high pike was as honest as it gets when you realised it was much closer than you thought(the relief came across)...........all in all it was a cracking watch ''warts and all''......congratulations on finishing........all the best....Stu....👌👌👍👍
Thank you, I really appreciate your comment. I get what you mean especially those that have never done that trail or other trails etc. I'll be as honest as I can all the time, best way to be. Hopefully get some more content up soon, been super busy unfortunately. Again thank you for your comment mate it's very much appreciated.
@@nickmc_outdoors No worries.....credit whens credit due...👍
Great video, th8nk8ng of doing cumbria way myself next year. Also, not only do i have the same tent as you cloud peak 2 which i love. Light, spacious, compact. You also have the same stove as me, oex hero. Half the price of jetboil just as good, but i also have trouble getting it to sit in the lugs properly
Thanks for watching, haha yep them lugs are a pain. Definitely do the Cumbria way it is a stunning walk.
The mole Catcher hangs moles on the fence so that the farmer can see they have done their job and how many moles that have.
Makes more sense now, thank you. Still grim, but I get it.
Thank you for watching as well. It is very much appreciated.
