Gimme your wildest Ten Pace Boots theory. Mine is that there was cut content here related to Sheogorath. Some weird, cobbled together boots that look like they are made out of skin but strong as daedric? In a daedric ruin and Sheo shrine? HIGHLY suspicious
Ya think it was some crazy Sheo worshipper who skinned himself and made a boot, and Sheo was like "that's hilarious. Im gonna make this strong as a Clannfear's balls"

The Ten Pace Boots must be related to a certain dashing Khajiit gentleman.
My theory is that they were leather or another light material but some kind of magic made them heavy so they served the purpose of ‘training’ boots similar to Picollo’s cape or Goku’s Gi. That could explain their appearance and the fact that it drains fatigue but makes you faster and able to jump higher. 🤷🏼 As for them being in front of a Sheo statue, I have no theory on that.
Sorry, I disagree on "the best xx boots". The only acceptable footwear is the Blinding Speed ones xF

There's also a pretty wonderful channel (forget the name of it) with very deep dives into Morrowind's mechanics, a lot of what's going on under the hood makes me wish Bethesda put their foot down and kept improving on Morrowind's systems rather than scrapping a lot of it.

The creative geniuses who created The Elder Scrolls left one by one, and after MW, pretty much no one was left, except the Great Man-Child himself, elevated coffee boy who was frustrated by all of the complex mechanics that he couldn't understand.
They might be a reference to the seven-league boots from european folklore.

@@CoffeeNutGaming It would make sense if you count in the quite overpowered stats. Seven-league boots are pretty frickin overpowered in folklore too.
Some literature even depict them as boots that can travel literally through different dimensions to reach those speeds. (Bartimaeus Trilogy)
I seem to recall a tale of similar boots where the wearer is stretched seven leagues. As the human body is incapable of such a feat the result was two boots seven leagues apart with a thin spread of what remains of the former owner in-between. This particular legend may come from Terry Pratchett.
I say the Ten Pace Boots were crafted by M'aiq the Liar in a failed attempt to get the footwear that Todd had denied him. He traveled the continent, learning powerful enchantments, being taught my master leatherworkers, and finally crafting them from the hide of some unnamed magical creature that no-one else has ever seen. He spent years creating a priceless pair of boots that rival the finest of Daedric craftsmanship, but in the end, they still wouldn't fit. Dejected, he just gave them away to the next being he talked to, which happened to be the leveled daedra you find guarding them.

Lore (guess): An old pair of leather boots got left behind in Bal Fell, and over the ages, they became as hard as (the City of) stone.

I personally recommend you doing Temple's pilligrimage quest. Pros: learning a lore, getting sweet artifacts of Saints.
And my favourite is Morag Tong. Getting to the top in no time, you're totally legal, just show your papers to the guards, the Mephala herself is your boss, you in small and devoted community of professionals, very respected in all the Vvardenfell. As a bonus: humiliating those "dork brotherfood" fools, just for fun.
Never forget that you can take these to the museum in Mournhold and sell them for A LOT of gold..i actually routed a speedrun a while ago for 0-100K gold, and these were one of the critical items you needed to get to get a really fast time. I wasn't able to get it below 30 minutes but hey, it's a start lol
wow thats right. i've got 'worth it's weight' mod that gives weight to gold coin... and i think that might instant kill me to go to the museum.
The ten pace boots do look good, but I require speed, and 20 points on cast ain't enough. I need to feel like I just inhaled fifty skooma and am about to die from a heart attack. With that in mind, I shall continue wearing my BoBS, even when I run a heavy armor warrior.

Love this channel! It was the reason why I recently got a copy of GOTY Morrowind. I didn’t know about these boots. Only been using boots of blinding speed (with 100% resist magicka method). Always looking forward to more Morrowind content! 👍

Best lore explanations i got is maybe the walkabout or (have fun finding what im talking about) there was a n elf who found a way to increase the elven lifespan by walking in less paces? I remember hearing but im having trouble finding it myself
I can’t play Morrowind without my Boots of Blinding speed, I would have a hard time switching to these lol. Idk maybe it is worth it though
The best boots are the Boots of Blinding Speed. And if you know how to use them, you know why.

In vanilla these boots are glitched. It seems to be a patch and mesh issue but there are invisible and come up with an error until unequipped

Even when I roll heavy armor, I use the Boots of Blinding Speed.
Drain Fatigue even on an active skill is just terrible considering fatigue is used in every skill in this game.
Could be a typo that *became* "cut content." One comma in a wrong place and a whole spawnmap goes. Such a big map, maybe testers missed it.
look at those puny shoes. i would almost fly while jumping. breton with the 50% magic resist armor from tel fyr and boots of blinding speed ofc. walking in vivec, i jump from canton to canton.

Sheogorath made the boots to screw with the player. Not the player character, the actual player. The God of Madness is no doubt overjoyed to drive players mad trying to figure out the lore for boots whose sole purpose was to make them question the lore of the boots.
Id say its an easter egg akin to finding Indiana Jones.

Ironically, I always settled on the Leather Boots as my personal fave -- no matter my Morrowind character build, I inevitably spec up my Stealth & Light Armor skills to max + enchant an Exquisite Ring w/ Constant Invisibility so I can explore & conduct recon of unknown / enemy territory while completely undetected, then weigh my options (loot & leave? ambush the toughest enemies only? assassinate everyone?) at my leisure.
if no history of the artifact is known in tamriel, perhaps theyre an import from another continent such as akavir

Also, I'd like to hear your opinion about something. Is there any playstyle in this game that you think is the most fun/interesting? I've played this game a lot over the years but have never branched away from melee characters.
magic takes some investment but man it really pays off over time. just save all your money for training. also get into alchemy, it can be really fun

10 pace? 10? I could write essays on 11,12 and 13 in TES. 3,4,5,8,9 but 10!? My best guess is cut/unfinished content. The lack of curse and Telvani pressence hints at something going on there. Odd one for sure. Might be the feet of Nerevar or one of Vivek's kids😅
These really would be balanced by the Drain Fatigue being Damage Fatigue instead
Currently they only reduce your maximum fatigue by 5pts for 2 minutes. Essentially this "drawback" does nothing
If it were instead Damage Fatigue 5pts for 2 minutes then you'd be out 600pts of fatigue by the time it ran out, thus necessitating some consideration of this effect if using these for anything other than travel purposes

10 Pace boots are made by lizard man and cat people, Argonians and Khaziits, they do a very good job and is a main point of Morrowind, as for they have steady to achieve to succeed those boots themselves by making it upon all their wisdom and knowledge, and finally said those are the correct boots for us, ones we cannot wear nor ones we will ever see it is perfect!
Just question: why you play morrowind on such low details?
