    This is some of the prettiest land I have seen. I love how the family has worked to preserve it for centuries. It is admirable the lengths that Bertie and his mother are going for nature.

    Magnificent countryside! Those Highland cows are so beautiful! I am so proud of you, Julie, being within an arm's reach of those beauties! Cows can be very loving creatures given the opportunity. They love being petted! They actually make a noise similar to a cat's purr when they are happy!

    Such wonderful video and Blair Castle surroundings are absolutely lovely. Words cannot even do it justice!
    Love how relaxed you were around the cows and Gordon really did have just the right personality to help you along the way! They wer beautiful cows really and the horns would have worried me some too! lol They knew you were afraid and did not want to feed from your hand as to make it worse maybe? So sweet!

    I love this video that shows a holistic view of an estate, and I love that historic estates are taking a holistic approach to the land! ❤

    As a MacGregor, yes THOSE people. I grew up knowing all about the Highlands. I attended the games. Love the bagpipes. Wear my plaid. And my greatest wish is to go to and even live in the Highlands. Mostly when I was younger because I was tired of being referred to as... "You know, the redhead. Wouldn't it be great to be lost in a crowd and not found out just because of my hair? I live in Oregon which, to me, is nearly as beautiful.

      I have red hair and Scottish ancestors. I know what you mean about being teased and called various names because of the color of my hair in my younger years. Not so much these days, there are so many people coloring their hair!

    Lots of Highland cattle right here in Arkansas and everyone loves 'em! They are a gentler breed! But Julie, animals sense fear, try not to show it! LOL

    In New Mexico, though very controversial still, the natural wolves have been reintroduced to the wild, does Scotland have plans to do the same with wild wolves?

    Lord George Murray fought for the Jacobite cause in 1745 and died in exile.His brother ran the estate and didn’t fight for Prince Charles.The Duke of Atholl is the only person allowed to have their own private army.

      I've also noticed a large amount of water plants, cattails, lilies, rushes, etc., in the ponds, lakes and other water features. I wonder how, and how often, those are thinned out. They do have a tendency to shrink these features by accumulating soil in these features.

    What a house ! Just a bit peculiar to have those people talking about heritage, ancestors, when their grand parents found a loophole to break the entail , cuting the link between the title and the estate

    • @nicolad8822
      @nicolad8822 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It was the last Duke who established the charitable trust? He had no direct heir and the guy who inherited the title wasn’t interested in living in Scotland. It seems quite a sensible thing to have done. “Those people” have the same ancestors and heritage.

    • @kiribati9393
      @kiribati9393 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well there was a direct heir living in South Africa, if they had followed the entail , the documentary " The Last dukes" on the BBC shows the irony of the situation @@nicolad8822

    Honestly these ads Julie does is half the fkn video and they are loooonggg and there are usually 2 or 3 then TH-cam has its own ads on top of that. The content is drowned in ads I'm starting to hate this.
