What do you have to pay for the service as well as buy the games personally I think you should have to do one or the other not both and given Google's pension for selling user data an ad Revenue you shouldn't really have to do either after making plenty of money off us either way next stadius not in beta it's in release it should have the basic features such a cross compatibility with any Android device and be able to hook up any controller with it and work heck I can plug a USB controller into my phone and most of the time it will work stadia can't handle this the problem is it sounds like it's still in beta not release

"Roadmap" is just a marketing-friendly term for "minimum viable product". They don't want to admit that they are taking $30,000 preorders for sports cars when they only have the infrastructure in place to make $5 skateboards.
Which isn't a hyperbole, by the way. If you go into a training course for a tech company like this, they will actually use the "skateboards and sports cars" metaphor in their powerpoint diagrams

"This is fine," sounds like something Bioware said to themselves in the same breath as "Bioware Magic."
When you have to justify a poor launch by saying "this is fine" makes it sound like the only goal was just to toss the thing out there rather than to have a finished product. Something to which Microsoft and NVIDIA have done to make sure it is ready to go rather than attempting to be "First out the gate" and have a service that can not only be spotty but to also expect people to pay for an incomplete experience.

I'm not really sold on this whole streaming thing yet. What gets me is that we keep hearing that game streaming is the future like it or not, get used to it. Stadia blows. GeForce Now keeps losing participating devs (and doesn't support GOG). X-Cloud seems to be the only service getting good lip service, and I don't know anything about it.

I think I know one of the lesser known reasons why Google Stadia is an unpopular platform for game releases:
Many game developers don't think that the high internet bill for playtesting games on Google Stadia would be worth it, when they can playtest their games anywhere else on much more popular platforms for practically free in comparison.
And when they need to playtest for months, the internet bill would add up to something really REALLY expensive, which they wouldn't be able to recoop with how unpopular Google Stadia is for gamers.

While other platforms like Steam and GOG offer a better catalogue of products for more or less reasonable prices. Plus GOG is DRM free and let's you keep your games once you buy them. Plus they revealed that they are enabling cross saves between PC and the Nintendo Switch for Witcher 3 Wild Hunt. It's not perfect at the moment, but the will to improve is there.

I'd also be livid if I were a share holder in any of these companies, because treating consumers like this is always going to bite you in the butt eventually. I would say we need to get Congress on this, but, let's face it, most of our congressmen are so over-the-hill that they don't have the slightest idea how the gaming industry functions and why this stuff is so bad. Instead of reaching a functional stage before release they've moved it to release a skeleton of a product; a working prototype sold to the public. From which they can slowly add to it if it is financially viable to continue to do so. Therefore cutting the cost of r&d and development, promising what their vision is (which should be provided upon release) and having the public who purchase it pay for the development of the product. It's disgusting.

Why does Stadia list the BRANDS & TYPES of the smartphones that will work, instead of just the min spec, "Android 9 or higher with 2GB RAM" or something like that?
I mean, imagine that in PC gaming world, Assassin's Creed only works on Lenovo X20, HP something, instead of Windows 7 or higher (the specs).

The weird thing is, stadia is "testing" this app on other android devices
Yet if you install chromium and config it to recognise a Bluetooth controller, you can just run stadia through that on any device AND via mobile data, I've been doing this for months, why Google are lacking behind is beyond me
And since using Nvidia Geforce, that works a lot better and has an on-screen controller layout incase you wanna just play a game like a mobile app (for me I've been playing TemTem)
I like the concept of stadia, but it's lacking and not really trying to improve.
Stadia is like the epic games store, they don't care about functionality, they just expect users to consume it and they'll get around to it later

Also, I didn't know you had an Asus ROG Phone Yong, that's awesome

I love it when corporate employees and executives come out and give a patronizing PR response and think gamers can't smell the bullshit that comes from it. I mean come on, it should be common sense at this point that the general gaming community is full of very smart people that can read between the lines. But how many of them actually go to any place where they can actually hear feedback from any of them? I bet not many of them actually watch youtube.

The thing is, they don't consider things such as "release" these days. They see it as the day of access. The day where people are able to purchase the right to access it. They don't feel like they're obligated to deliver. Just like with games, they might add basic features later.

Y'know, I clicked the Like button because it's advocating for the customer when companies are clearly not respecting that idea. But I stopped listening at about 4 minutes in. Why? Because it's no longer shosking. Companies all across the e-gaming landscape no longer feel obligated to strive for the best possible product to offer to their customers. In the minds of these companies, it's no longer a failure when launching an unfinished product that does not work as advertised. In the minds of these avaricious idiots, failure is a business plan. Tell you what, Alphabet, EA, Activision, Bethesda, you go on releasing partial products, and I'm going to start buying them with partial dollar bills.

If they go through with connecting the controller to the data center, it would be interesting to see how that turns out. There could be a good amount of input lag since I imagine the ‘monitor’ and controller send packets asynchronously and if the controller sends something out after the phone refreshes then it wouldn’t register or be jittery probably. Also, missed inputs or choppy movement might exist as well, since I’m pretty sure they’d be using UDP (TCP would be too ‘slow’ and everything would need to stop if a packet came out of series) and I don’t know how that’d go down on games where time sensitive inputs count, especially on horrible internet. If they could pull it off, I’d actually be very impressed. I love your videos, thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts and I’m looking forward to the next one!

Honestly it's the No Man's Sky fallacy, and the Final Fantasy ( I forget which one it is that is the MMO that had to be rework from the ground up but came out great) fallacy. Ever since no man's sky started out as crap, and then became good (haven't played it but that's what everyone says). People think that companies will work to make something better if we don't approve just because a very small company did it. Or something that was crap,( again haven't played the Final Fantasy game.) That got Revisited and reworked into something that everyone liked. I may not have played these games.
But "fans" seems to have a mentality for something like this. Instead of being able to criticize thing they love. I mean with the anthem reboot, you here's some people eagerly waiting saying it's going to be the thing that fixes it. The thing that people who stuck with it can turn around to everyone else and laugh at them. When in reality it may be the case and the thing is fixed. But who's to say that's what actually will happen. How long will we have to wait.
( please note I'm only using Anthem as an example. I really do hope it prospers. And I have no stake towards it or against it.)
The thing is we should praise it when things get fixed. We should be happy when we finally get what we wanted. What we paid for. But it's so hard when we are dealing with an industry it just seems to want to take the easy way out 9 out of 10 times. People will try to defend something anything that they have invested in.
We can't blame them, let them enjoy what they enjoy. But if nobody speaks out nothing will change.
But I have to admit oh, sometimes we shouldn't waste our breath. It's companies like Google right now the things take a hold themselves up like this. That are so tone-deaf to the situation. Make a stand with your money. Ask yourself do you really enjoy this platform. Really ask yourself. If you don't if you think it needs to be better. Then don't renew until it is.
To put it simply have standards for yourself. Have standards of what to expect from the start and what is there supposed to be now
