    Great video as usual. I have always had a problem identifying a trigger for my takeaway, but raising the right heal might be the answer.

    Thank you so much for some key points. I too have a very mechanical take away sometimes. It's when I relax and let it happen that my take away feels natural to me.

    Thanks! I never did like my backswing! I prefer the one you demo. Seems natural. :)

    I used the first one 'throw the club back' and did my normal "pause" at the top before throwing the club at target . What a sensational feeling that was and I played great. Thank you for the video. Getting the swing started was always problematic for me.. hoping this is what's been missing

    I have been torn on my take away. I hear to keep the club head straight back and not come inside also hear the hand should pivot around your right thigh. Thanks for this video, will be trying this today on the range.

    The most significant epiphany I had in my backswing is to just tilt left while throwing the club back as the rotation will occur naturally. The way I achieve this is ensuring my head doesn't move back a inch. Even with that move it still requires a slight feel of reentering further back left. Hope it helps.

    • @TheArtofSimpleGolf
      @TheArtofSimpleGolf  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi!! Really the sequence is pressure shift then pelvis then chest then shoulders then arms
      But do the throw feel and see what occurs!

    I think the game of golf is protected by the difficulty of the takeway. I´ve heard people referring to Jack Nicklaus, who once (might) have said that most amateurs ruin their golf swing before completing the first two feet of the backswing. Myself I like the advice of using the clubs momentum, freeing up the movements, but I wish somebody would have told me NOT to use too much extencion in my right hand early, and depend more on radial deviation setting the club.

    • @TheArtofSimpleGolf
      @TheArtofSimpleGolf  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes but too much focus on minutiae is what causes problems

    These videos are generally very good BUT it needs to be realised that not everyone is built the same and so swings will vary. I use an inside takeaway modelled on George Knudson. Check out some of the videos of his swing. Rather than an outside takeaway it might work better for you.

    • @TheArtofSimpleGolf
      @TheArtofSimpleGolf  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Indeed and I talk about that a lot. Not long ago did find your best swing and it was to embrace your tendencies instead of fight them
