  • solar and atomic watch. . the digital dial on the right displays the second only. the left has day and date, etc. all that good stuff. . on the display on the left itll show if the alarm is on. if the button tones are muted, if power save is on, if daylight savings time is on, and if hourly signal is on. the digital display in the middle shows what atomic band the time updated from. the watch is really easy to operate. the layout just makes sense. the case is about as thick as a deck of cards. i have a thin small wrist and it doesnt look too big. a good manly size. for some reason i thought all casio g-shocks were made in japan. there is a model of g-shock that is not solar and atomic but looks just like this one. so that would be a good alternative. i like the red hour hand. nice touch. the watch has had a few good whacks on new years eve breaking up fights. so it is tough like they say. the face of the watch is the solar panel. 200m water resist. we are a little rusty at filming sorry. fort collins colorado is the transmitter in north america. 12/24 hr format. the date is programmed until 2099 or some long shit like that. love this watch.

    even with the exposure of the sun there is no discoloration at all no cracking. ive been in alot of fights and dogpiles and wrestling in the desert at my job with it on everyday since i got it and the band has not broke. which is a super weak spot for many watches. the sun of arizona is a bonus because of the solar power. it never has dipped below full power. the band is comfy and does not let the watch move around. it never rotates around. i have small wrists too.

    @hackingtime88 sure. the lil circles are the digital display. the one on the far right is seconds only. the one at the bottom one shows which time station your watch updated from. here in the united states itll usually be the one in colorado for the atomic time. and the one on the left is day date military or regular digital time stopwatch timer and alarm. and shows which options are activated around the edges of it. very cool watch. very classy.

    @estalayo2 glad the vid helped. i love this watch. i think it looks good and is definitely tough enough. the light at the bottom lights up the whole face pretty well. the downside is that it does not light any part of the digital displays. you just cant see them. but all the markers on the analog face catch the light and are visible. another good feature is that when you leave a lit area the hands a markers glow for awhile afterwards. i find i rarely even have to use the led light.

    @Disendant so find the right city. once thats done you can have the watch update it or you might have to go in and turn off the manual setting. but when the watch updates the time by itself itll synch both the digital and analog displays. they only differ if you manually set one. thats the only time. so delete or turn off the manual set time and choose the right home city. and have the watch update the time. both should now read the same. just change the city or timezone not set the time

    @PavlovSandor  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @AliM744 it has to be complete darkness for the digital diplay to shut off but the analog keeps running like normal. id say about 20mins until it shuts down. you can shut off that function. the power save function you can turn off and the display on the left says if its on or not. pretty cool.

    @tictoctictoc07 i pretty sure its referring to daylight savings time. that area of arizona does not change its clocks at all. spring or fall. they stay the same. you can turn the function off or on. that way the watch doesnt set it 1hr ahead or behind depending on when it is.

  • @PavlovSandor
    @PavlovSandor  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @Disendant i never went in and set the time itself. i did have to find the correct time zone or city zone thing. i chose denver as my home city. the easiest way to see which city matches yours is check the current time and the time listed for that city. and if your city does the daylight savings time leave it on or turn it off accordingly. so when i first got the watch i set it to denver.

    @sobek one second... no no ticking sound. i think because it has no second hand which is usually where the ticking comes from. the seconds are displayed in the right hand digital dial at 3oclock position.

    @SNAFU111999 nice. im glad to hear that the watch holds up pretty well. watches catch alot of wear being stuck on our wrists and all. i always hated trying to set the time just right. especially for the works time clocks. now i have the right time and they dont. lol. they match up now. oh cool mineral glass. not bad. but i know saphire crystal is the best. couldve made the watch cost 200 bucks if they added that. i wonder whats up with the hands. i havent noticed anything yet. thanks for info

    I am going to Asia this summer and I'm gonna look for this watch! Since it is from Japan, I'm hoping to find a less expensive, Asia-exclusive model! Such as, orange-black or blue-black variants. So excited! :D

    @swiss86watches thx buddy. ill let her know. this watch has been worn everyday since i got it. its withstood many scuffles at work and there is only 1 or 2 nicks on the bronze color ring around the face. its holding up superbly. and its always accurate. most people ask me what the time really is even if they have a watch on too. cuz it always matches the time clocks at work.

    How to set time in analog? digital is working fine but analog time can't b set can u help plzz

  • @PavlovSandor
    @PavlovSandor  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @g01f3rg01f3r yes you can set the digital readout to 24 hr time. in fact i leave it on this setting as my job requires all paperwork to be in military time. the alarm is nice and loud and easy to select but i hardly use it.

    I have had that same watch for 2 years and the only problems I have had is that the band will fade slightly and the mineral glass can scratch. I love the Atomic Timekeeping! Great review Pavlov. I might want to add that I don't like how the light won't light up the display and the neo bright does not last very long ( only about 4-5 hours. The glass is not plastic, it is mineral glass. the solar time keeping is great. I don't know why but sometimes my hands arn't always in sync?

    @thomassmyth65 i hope i will have it forever. i love the way it looks. especially the red hour hand. i also like when a watch has the arrows at the end of the hands. thats cool too. but i will take care of this watch. get the seals redone when scheduled and shit like that. watch the band for wear etc.... the face seems to be scratch resistant something or other cuz its not showing any wear yet.

  • @PavlovSandor
    @PavlovSandor  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    let me see. ill look up the list right now. i basically fiddled around until i found the city that coincides with the time where i live.you could take a map that has time zones on it and see which cities line up in the same zone. also you need to consider if your town changes for daylight savings. my area does not so i turned that function off. the manual says way at the back houston dallas/fort worth new orleans use 1of 3 mex ywg or chi. id start with chicago cuz its in the states. congrrat

    Hi. Quick question...does this watch have a ticking sound like other analogue watches?

  • @PavlovSandor
    @PavlovSandor  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @elongatuspiranha the sleep function is kind of like a computers. very cool. thats one thing i hated. when you had to change the battery on your watch. they would never be as water resistant as before you changed it. i always changed the batteries myself cuz the watches werent that expensive. so now i dont have to worry about setting anything or the water resistant issue.

    Just bought this watch on Amazon, they have many Casio's on the site. It replaces my G-Shock GW-300 that I beat to hell for 15 years. It still keeps time, but the buttons are worn out, and the light turns off and on which wears down the battery. The G-Shocks can take a pounding and I swear by these watches. Like the guy in the vid said, the light on my new watch is a little disappointing, but it's still a great looking watch for those that like the analog look.

    Hey,thanks for the video!
    think it is great and it helped me a lot on chosing if i wanna to take it or not! i took it now and it'll be arriving on monday (2 days) and i am so excited about it!
    Fortunately you did this video. Question: how good is the LED light that shows up from the bottom? is it useful? Please let me know back. Thanks again!

    @TheDishD as soon as that monk show turned up shes been calling me that. ill sit on the end of the bed and put my shoes on at least 15 times in the morning. but once i have them perfect i leave them alone for the rest of the day. no lumpy socks. nothing in the shoe. toe folded just right. the feel just right. i feel that my balance is off if my foot is not perfectly in there. thats just one thing. i forgot a bunch of shit but try to make up for it in the description. the wife loves every minute

    so do you mean you can only set the time by city? i mean the real standard time. pst, gmt.. etc? is there a way to set it manually. like, if i want my watch to be advanced/late 5 minutes..

    @TheDishD ive had a watch or two snap at the straps. it seems to be a weak point. hopefully they keep improving. or maybe they make em just strong enough so that you have to keep buying watches. lol

    @Lucentdawn changing the batteries are a hassle for sure. and once water gets in there good luck. some places wont even change bateries anymore. or fit the metal bands. im hoping i get over 10yrs out of the solar battery. ive always heard the gshock name but have never owned one before. i am impressed and very lucky to have one. i think analog is very classy but it has to be easy to read. whats the use of a watch if you cant tell the time with it. nothing wrong with digital. good stuff

  • @PavlovSandor
    @PavlovSandor  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @pizza105z even if the watch does not update its still an excellent timekeeper. it wont lose minutes. i think its like a fraction of a scond every few months. anywhere the signal is strong is fine for setting the watch. does not have to be a window. enjoy camp bud

    @thomassmyth65 hey buddy. i put up an update vid on this watch if you want to see video of how its looking. 6month update something like that. its holding up great. the only wear marks are around the face. that bronze metal area has a few nicks in it. very tiny nicks. enough to get the paint off. otherwise no scratches on the face which is what i worried about. its a good mineral crystal but no saphire crystal. the band is great and strong. its exposed to the blazing sun of arizona too.
