Saints row reboot is definitely the game of all time, the graphics are graphical and the physics and phsyicing, the cars are driving and the voice actors are acting
I remember being amazed by SR1's physics and animations back in the day and dreading that it was an X360 exclusive. It's still impressive. No so much because it was something ground-breaking, but because modern open-world games have fallen so far behind that standard. We had Euphoria in GTA IV, fully destructible environments in Red Faction Guerrilla, Just Cause 2's rope physics and Dead Rising's giant hordes, all of that running on ancient HW. Yet these days, we're getting AAA games with completely broken or nonexistent physics barely functioning on modern HW. It's sad.

Yeah. Gameplay and physics is where it’s at to me. If I find the gameplay boring, then why would I care to play the game for very long? I have this problem with Farcry 5, where sure, the game LOOKS good, but the gameplay bores me. This is why I keep coming back to the game and then deleting it over and over again.

Personally, If I see my last save is a high level character, I start a new game. Then once that character is level 45 or so, I stop playing for a while and do it all over again. I recently re-launched NFSU2 from 2004 and this game is a masterpiece. Nice graphics for 2004, compared to GTA SA for instance, and the cars, the sensations... this game is timeless. I've been playing SR III remastered lately (free on the eg store) and felt in love with the SR universe, and I'd definitely play the original tetralogy rather than this 2022 reboot crap.

But then Watch_Dogs happened, with the exact same broken physics you can see here. And then it's sequel, Mafia III, Crackdown 3, Cyberpunk2077 and so on and so on... And all of them have this awful, weightless, broken type of physics.

Saw a gameplay by someone and they were baffled that they couldn't harm NPC's. The devs wouldn't add anything offensive to the game because it "doesn't fit with the current times." That's why I have a love hate relationship with GTA IV. The controls might feel ridiculously too realistic and driving a car feels like driving a refrigerator on ice, but the physics and animation will always be top notch for me.
It's depressing that loads of games nowadays may at times look the part but as soon as you start playing it feels less advanced than titles like GTA IV, a game that was released 14 years ago.
Everything just had so much weight in GTA IV. The cars that were meant to drive like boats drove like boats and sports cars drove like sports cars, which I much prefer over GTAVs vehicle physics. Although I still enjoy both for different reasons.

I fucking hate GTA V driving physics, they made it too arcady and all the cars drive like the cars in Need for Speed Underground 2! Like ffs GTA IV had it perfect with the damage models and the handling of cars in that game was way more realistic and felt like driving a stock unmodified cars in Forza Motorsport 7
GTA IV is such a shame of a game. It has a beautiful world, amazing story and believable city. Yet the gameplay is a fucking disaster. I disagree with the animations being top notch, they are pretty bad but the physics are top notch. The water and ragdoll physics alongside how the vehicles deform are super impressive to this day.
They mainly did it on purpose since they added the mafia 3 shit for the crashing to lower the cars health during car chases, but they could of atleast added the motorcycles not having the shit and actually falling off or something like sheesh

For proof, I was banned from playing SR1 as a good because it was too sinister while I was allowed to play GTA.

WHY DO YOU THINK WE KEEP GETTING UNFINISHED CRAP LIKE THIS, CYBERPUNK, DYING LIGHT 2 AT LAUNCH!?!? Because these games keep getting released without being a fully finished version. Its almost like they release the BETA version and then SOMETIMES we eventually get the full potential of these games AFTER several updates and patches. Wtf

although it’s still pretty bad, the fact there was no car damage is definently a bug. i’ve seen other videos where the cars can get pretty fucked up and the cars can actually get full on crushed if you drive over them in a tank which is kinda cool. the whole windshield thing although is unrealistic is I think a design decision with the car combat in game as it has other cartoony stuff like being able to sideswipe other cars, so I guess this is meant to promote ramming into other cars.
I mean the difference in the reboot is that both drivers were using high tech seat belts and better build cars that can handle collisions. Welcome to the future.

Saints row 1 blew my 13 year old mind so hard. Especially being that I just discovered the only escape from trauma, marijuana. Man I literally just played the game to go smoke weed all over the town without getting in trouble listening to music I only killed people who fucked with me didn't play the story it's a beautiful memory. I'm 30 now and finally getting help but In America they protect child abusers. Apparently I only had until I was 28 to file charges. So ig my whole life is a sentence for being born.
This is just unacceptable, as gamers we can't let this be ok. If developers keep releasing garbage like this, video games won't be worth playing. Everyone should demand a refund for this because they ruined a classic.
