Guturals (ע ר א ה ח ) can’t take simple Sheva so they take one of the three composed-sheva which would be hatuf-qamets, hatuf-segol, or Hatuf-patach. So “oh”, “eh” or “ah”. Hope that makes sense.
It occurs 13 times in Genesis 1 in verses: 3, 5(2x), 7, 8(2x), 9, 11, 13(2x), 15, 19(2x), 23(2x), 24, 30, 31(2x). You can listen to it in my Hebrew reader. Both Abraham Shmuelof and Rabbi Dan Be'eri say wa-ye-hi. See www.animatedhebrew.com/reader/ot/01_genesis.html
@@animatedhebrew I try to find any biblical hebrew teachings .and some modern to. Would love to have heard it when Yashua walked and talked to His talmidim .
I was so confused before on the sheva! Your diagrams have tremendously clarified it for me . Thank you.
בָּאֳנִיָּה
could mean either 'in a boat' or 'in the boat' depending on whether the bet has a qamets or a qamets-chatuph
How to know if à Sheva under a guttural is n’a or nach ?
Can you give me an example?
Gutturals cannot take a vocal Shewa but they can take a silent Shewa.

I would like to ask if this word וַֽיְהִי, way.hi or wa.ye.hi?
