The belief that the 22 Eberith (Hebrew) letters are all consonants and in need of niqqud marks is incorrect. The four letters of the Name of Yahuah are yod-hay-uau-hay; all vowels (H3068). There is no such sound of our modern "VEE" in the Eberith, nor in the Greek or Latin; it developed in the 17th century, and now behaves as a consonant. Vowels are speech sounds using only the breath and mouth cavity. Consonants are speech sounds that employ one or more of the following: teeth, tongue, lips, roof of the mouth, back of the throat, clicking, or buzzing sounds.
