My Girlie just gave birth this morning. ❤ this was very helpful. Gave birth to 2 healthy piglets🥰 is there anything else for caring and what to do after birth? The daddy(Carmellow) has been really clingy to mommy(Snicki) . I separated the daddy from them using an extra grid to divide their enclosure..
My littles are 3,weeks old today. What’s the easiest way to transition the mail away from the mother and his sister without stressing him out or causing a Loneliness?
If you can put him with another boar (his dad or if he has a male sibling). If neither are possible put him in a cage close to his mother and sister so he doesn’t feel completely alone. If rehoming him keep him in a cage near the others and that should help him until then. I hope this is helpful 😊
I thought it was extremely difficult to know the sex of a baby guinea pig until they're 2 to 3 weeks old. After giving the babies a couple of days, I just wanted to see what sex they were and I could not tell until around about 2 and a half weeks. The whole reason as to why I had babies is because a male I got was actually female
me and my Guinea pig. My mom thought my Guinea pig was a male and then a female so we got a female Guinea pig after for companionship and then….yeah we got babies, my mom was not happy about that
My mother guinea pig actually died the night she gave birth. We thought we were gonna loose them. But we used heated up evaporated milk. PLEASE DO NOT FEED THEM ANY MILK ONLY EVAPORATED MILK! THEY WILL DIE! We put it on a spoon and they drank off it just fine. We fed them every 2 hours (including nighttime) for about a month or so until we weened them off. 2 out of the 3 had seizures a week or so after they were born. This was caused because of lack of vitamins. So make sure they get what they need. Like vitamin c. We mixed in vitamin C drops in their milk so they wouldn’t have anymore seizures. They are happy and healthy today! But they are stunted, which means they didn’t get the right nutrition at a young age so they are just smaller than they should be. And they won’t grow anymore. They are still healthy. They are almost a year and a half! I hope this helps someone who have baby piglets and it’s mother died. Side note, don’t play with them like at all. Let the mother do her thing. Don’t touch them for a few weeks. Unless you have to feed them yourself.
Their heads make up half the size of their body they're just too cute
FR I’m planning on getting one this Tuesday ❤️

Thanks for a short concise starter video. We just got a surprise and no idea what to do
Terrific advice, we’ll done. We’ve had 5 litters from four different mums and pretty much did just what you recommend.
