You're dead wrong. Each of them recorded a perfect 10. So... combined, they achieved the impossibly rare, illustriously coveted: 20/10. i mean how dare you 😉
I’ve introduced this to everyone I care about since finding this early in quarantine, on another user’s page. I’m 55, divorced a few years, father of 3 adult kids - basically, I don’t think I’m the target demographic of Noah…or Phoebe. But that’s what happens when you create one of the moving performances I’ve heard in 5 1/2 decades - your genius transcends any target demographic. The fact that The Sound can be as powerful played at any tempo, with any instrumentation, and even coming out of a song like The Killer - puts it in the league of the perfect songs that are equally flexible. And those harmonies with Abby. Damn. Thank you for this. I saw Phoebe at Forest Hills summer of 2022, and wanted a second night to see Noah last month when he came to NYC. But I will see him. Get the VIP ticket. And hopefully thank him. This is perfection.
I am a single 66 year woman and love this performance more than I can say. I’ve tried to introduce others to it also. Sometimes people have to discover in their own way. One of the most beautiful songs I know.
I'm crying listening to this because I lived it! I'm in pure awe right now! I just don't even know how someone could write something so perfect! 💔😭🙏❤️🩹
I've easily watched this 100 times, Noah. It was one of the first things I got to see after discovering your work. Which was when I saw your incredibly moving live cover of Tiny Changes right after Scott died. Thank you for that, btw. I don't know if you look at comments. But I always wanted to ask you about that black eye. Talk about a "poetic moment". And so appropo, lyrically speaking, for a duet of The Sound. If this was the totality of everything you and Phoebe ever did, it would still be one of the most timeless, beautiful moments in all of the arts. Everyone is heading to the grave in their own time. It must be quite a comfort to leave something this special behind. ❤
This never loses any emotion no matter how many times I watch it. Looking for some European tour dates for 2024. Please come back to Dublin again! 🇮🇪 ❤️
This was just, wow. I feel like my heart and soul just got ripped open, layed bare, then stitched back together, in the best way. Brilliant by everyone involved!
How beautiful is this 🌹harmony with the great creator. Love always wins it’s worth the fight 💫💛💙❤️ family water is life 🙏🌹🙏🎶🎶🎶🎶🌟 never forget who are. Aho
I saw him in concert a few years ago and I swear it was someone else. It was all like Dance music 😂 I don’t regret for a second, I can say I saw him - but not the mood I was expecting with all the slow soulful songs I fell in love with. I could see that would be depressing to only play those songs but maybe one or two? Lol
Brilliant collaboration… Two of the most important songwriters and performers…..Poetry, relevant social imagery…..and significant cultural influencers….
Ever since you first uploaded it those many years ago i find myself singing it out of the blue when cleaning or drawing or just letting my mind blank, its the first thing that comes to my mind when im not thinking. Really beutiful arrangement! ❤
Such a beautiful performance!! This is up at the top of the list of impactful performances. I can feel the weight of every note and lyric in a deeply meaningful sense. The melodies, and harmonies, and simplicity, and empathy pack a punch in this one.
I used to play with Noah a bit when I was in the Seattle jazz scene. He's not a fighter. He got sucker punched at a bar a couple days before this was recorded, pretty messed up scenario honestly.
@@NelsonHoppI watch this all the time and have always wondered what the story was, sometimes wondered if it was some sort of prop thing, sad to hear the real story, and personally glad he’s not a fighter
This is unrelated (I can't say anything better than everyone already has. This mashup entrances me. It gets inside me and it's also on the top of my 'anxiety attack' playlist to calm me down.) BUT. I'm always curious if 1979 is a reference to the song by Smashing Pumpkins, or to an older family member.
Me too. Definitely healing from any angle. I've never felt this before. I just found him 3 songs ago. God pointed him out and his tenderness is like nothing from this world.
The most beautiful 8 minutes of human existence ever recorded.
One of the best recordings ever made, 10/10 for sure
