As much as I love a v8 and am excited for the R coming, the EcoBoost really isn't that bad of an engine. Makes good power and keeps the front end light. The exhaust note sucks but all and all its a great little engine
Yes I hope they don’t get rid of this engine option in the raptor because if I were to get one I would get it, because it’s an amazing engine I currently have the 3.5l eco boost in my 2018 f-150 and I love it so much.

I love the fact that the heated steering wheel has a dedicated button now next to AC/heated seats. I know that’s a minute thing to complain about but I hated going into my climate controls on my touch screen to turn it in
Great review, and Great truck. I love the new Raptor. I have a few quick questions related to one issue I'm hoping you can answer: AT 59 I don't do as much classic "off roading" as I did in my youth, still some, and this Raptor would still be useful to me in any number of other ways, including its smoother highway drive with those shocks and winter time capability, not to mention the emotions of just plain wanting one, but my question involves the tires. Love the size, but am wondering if I need that aggressive tread pattern since even my more limited amount of classic off roading won't be as aggressive any longer. For this reason I wonder if I could get that size tire but with a more versatile, all terrain tread, something that might channel rain water better on highway runs for instance (I would get a dedicated snow tire for winter regardless). Do you think my theory is sound, and do you think I could find a more versatile, al terrain tire like that in that size? And how much if any do you think those less aggressive tries might improve the mpg of the truck? Thanks. And keep up the great review. Man, this is a beautiful truck. I even love the gray. I would usually prefer all black, but might just prefer this gray but with some black highlights. Beautiful!

I just did a quick review of the KO2's, and they sound and look like great tires, and they do have the severe winter rating 3 peak designation. The description also says they handle snow about 20% better. By that I assume they mean 20% better than your average all terrain tire. Do you have any experience, or opinion, as to whether those specific tires would be as good as a set of dedicated winter snow tires? I have confirmed that Nokian makes tires in the correct size, and Nokian along with Bridgestone (Blizzaks) apparently make some of the best snow tires. What do you think? But dang, that truck just looks so awesome. Wish I could get the lay flat reclining front seats and massaging front seats, but nothing's perfect. To get those I'd have to go down to something like the F150 Platinum, a decent truck for sure, but not the Raptor.

Haven't seen it talked about anywhere else but does anyone know why they changed the Raptors taillights to have a red turn signal combined with the brake light compared to the new f-150 with its amber led turn signal and separate brake lights? Seems like such a strange change to make, especially given a separate amber led for the turn signal is much better imo.
Something about the Gen 3 headlight nacelle just doesn't look right to me. Oh, I'm not sure opening the door at low speed and having the vehicle jump into Park is a good idea. Granted , this Gen 3 has multiple cameras/views but occasionally opening the door to take a peek is necessary during slow speed off-roading.
Ford has really thought that feature through... If you have your seat belt on, it doesn't automatically switch to park because it knows you aren't getting out
Definitely over 90K especially the first of 1st gen. They maxed out around 74K last gen and this is is a base model so raptor R I’d suspect over 3 digits for fully equipped.
My 2021 raptor is 82 with 801A and a few other options plus a 5k ADM. The R will definitely be over 100K and dealerships will mark them up ridiculously. The eco boost motor is great people who complain about it have some real ego problems they need to work out. It’s like saying a 911 sucks bc it’s a 6-cylinder, it just makes no sense.
I know it's cool to bash the Ecoboost. I understand the pressure to do so. But it's unfortunate because the Raptor has carved out quite the deserved respect WITH that motor. The V8 only crowd would still exist if the Ecoboost was 1000 HP. :)

I love to have one but Im just not a fan of a turbo charged engine. Im not sure how Ford’s is but the one for Chevrolet sucks and is expensive to replace. Give me a big engine with no turbo.

Pretty sure the stripe on the steering wheel is to let you visually know that you've tweeked the steering alignment during racing.
You are correct, lets you know which way your tires are turned to when racing.

@@Majorrick07 Steering racks don't use a 1:1 ratio. 20 degrees on the steering wheel doesn't equate to 20 degrees of tire direction.

It’s not all wheel drive. It’s 4wd auto and it’ll go into 4wd automatically if it detects slipping. All wheel drive is completely different.

Sunroof is optional even on the higher trims
