I personally think the Raptor sounds good. The TRX sounds good too, but I think you guys make too much of this issue. Last generation, I agree, the Gen 3 I think sounds good though. It's just different, like comparing a hot rod to an import sports car sound.
On our trip to the Grand Canyon I winterized our camper in a Walmart parking lot in a sleet storm in Arizona of all places! You have to winterize a camper when you are towing it in freezing weather because you don't want to run a propane heater when you are towing as that has caused more than a few camper fires. Just like your house plumbing...if you house gets below freezing bad things happen and a camper will cool down much faster than a house in freezing weather with no heat source. In all reality I can winterize our camper in about 15 minutes so its really not that bad of a process...you just have to pump a special non toxic antifreeze through the plumbing with a bypass pump.
@@billymc2681 the ZR2 will not compete with the TRX or Rapture. Sure they have upgraded shocks but thats it. Same frame as a regular sliverado. As someone who is considering the Tundra hybrid among everything else, I don't think the Tundra is a flop I think it's just slightly disappointing considering the splash that we know Toyota was capable of making in this market. Just about everything is mediocre and it doesn't take risks as well as being a good value overall. The whole thing just makes it hard to love, hard to get excited about, and I think Toy may have been a misreading of the market. It's a good, solid, value choice but that's not good enough.
I hope the new Tundra is not a flop, but only time will tell if that new 3.4L TT engine is solid (reliable) and hopefully, the 10 speed AT is going to be reliable as well. However, Toyota gets more and more aggressive in implementing new technology, so who knows, maybe those days for Toyota not taking a risk are over.
TFL , Generally ,no, you don't travel with water in sub zero weather . Unless it has solar-powered heater pads on the tanks. Typically, you run with a 1/4 tank in nice weather due to its weight .
I’ll take a Raptor! Been my dream truck since I was in high school when the 1st gen came out. Yeah the TRX makes more power but it’s a Fiat/Chrysler product. 🤮 Edit: But if I ever got a chance to drive the TRX I’m sure I’d love it lmao.
@@paulhunter9613 When it runs similar ET's to an entry level sports car like a Focus RS it's slow by my standards of what's actually fast. I doubt it's too much truck for anyone.
Just put it this way: If Ford and it's engineers were so sure the G3 Raptor is indeed a better truck than the TRX, they wouldnt feel the need to bring out the R. Somehow every Ford fanboy(ie Andre) discards or avoids the Hp talk, until the R comes out. Then they will be team HP again
I agree the R will not be attainable. As far as demand, just look at TRX forums. 99% of the owners are former Raptor owners tired of the V6. I'm one of them. The TRX is selling like hotcakes and resell value is excellent. Ford did never intend to make the R. It did not want to go back to a V8. It was caught with its pants down and forced to react. The Raptor had 10 years of no competition and Ford did not listen to the owners wanting a V8. The G1 was the best generation, just ask owners
Did you adjust the tire pressure on the LMTV? In the center there's a box that has buttons marked with different terrain that will adjust tire pressure since it has an onboard air compressor.
Most people fill their water tanks after they get to the camping site. It would be ridiculous to tow cross country with full tanks, maybe partial fill for overnight stops in parking lots, but not full.
Always lover your programs. A question. Which do you think would be better during big snowstorms on roads and highways, the Ford F150 Raptor with 37's versus the normal F150 Raptor with 35's, other things being equal? And do you think there is any way to add a higher quality shock to the rear of a Platinum with it's springs to give it anywhere near as buttery smooth a drive as the Raptor with its 5 link spring suspension in the rear? And if not, do you think the max comfort leather seats of the Platinum might make up that difference? Thanks.
Driving on snowy wooded trails looks like fun, but it's not really what these trucks were made for. Any chance we can get them tested in the open desert?
narrower tires are actually better in snow in most situations more pressure/bite per square inch vs. wider tires that spread the psi over a bigger footprint resulting in more propensity to float over snow & not bite into hard pack. On really deep offroad snow.....I think things are a little different, maybe wider could be better as narrow tires dig you deeper down....maybe too deep - all that being said the difference in width between the 2 trucks is negligible, & the PSI to footprint is probably nearly identical too - TRX may have slightly wider tires but its a good bit heavier weighing 700 lbs or so more than the Raptor....lotta variables lol
I believe 450 hp is more than enough to do the raptor thing. I own a Gen 2 and can’t imagine driving any faster in dirt but for a faster 0 to 60. Suspension is a different thing and I do not know what the third gen adds Apparently amazing
I think (just my opinion) the people I know who have the hemi truck, are the segment of the population you keep talking about V8 PEOPLE. It would be interesting if they changed to V6 turbo, would the sales stay the same??
None of the makers you called out are “cranking out” EV trucks….so none of them are playing football. And GM who produced less EVs than Rivian just announced the Silverado and most trims won’t be available until 2024 assuming zero delays.
Maybe roman should buy the TRX from the company when it's officially time to move it. Then he can have it since he really really likes it and it wouldn't be a bad buy just add remote start and and anything else he would like then it's all his 🤔 awesome words from Roman that everyone should get the chance to drive one if they can and everything he said about it.
