I think the staccato sounding Pokey chip is better suited for oriental type music themes. International Karate too for eg. The Sid chip can sound muffled artificial and empty at times, though lots more can be achieved with the Sid chip
😂 Clearly an Atari fanboy. Go listen to The Last Ninja SID soundtrack, then come back and suggest the same thing. In fact I'm not even sure how you can suggest the IK music is superior on the Atari, when it's most definitely not.

Out of all the computer versions of Ninja out there the Atari 8-bit computers had the best sounding theme song.
This sounds weird to me as a century long C64 user but I guess I have to get used to the characteristic Pokey sound first.
To get down near tha wall ....
Tha Line.... !!!
Never ever See this lvl!
I remember it was like when playing at 1.25x
Da best game for Atari 800xl
That's the difference between NTSC and PAL, so most games ran slower when played in Europe
Suban la velocidad a 1.25 y suena mejor.
Así se oye cómo era en paises NTSC. La velocidad original es PAL. (75% de la de NTSC).
So cool! 😎
That tune fits the Pokey way more than the SID. Same for Panther and Spellbound.
This was the best version of the game imo

"sound muffled artificial and empty at times"
Not only clueless about the C64 but about music in general.
The works better as pokey instead of sid
The C64 version is objectively better, but the Atari version rocks so hard it doesn't matter.

Fuxck!!!... i love it!
I seem to be in the minority, but I think it sounds better on the SID.
C64 is bettor 😋👍
