    1:16 Hanauma Bay - You forgot to tell the viewers you just can not rock up and get in. It’s an online reservation system to get in for tourists. You need to be online at 7am in the hope of getting a time slot. It costs $25 pp, then you have to get there and there is no public transport. It’s not open Monday and Tuesday.

      That's very accurate! I had a lot of trouble getting tickets too. You do have to be ready to go 7am on the dot! All the tickets on the day I went were gone in about 5 minutes and even after you click a time slot just GO for it because if you hestitage, by the time you get to the end and pay with your card, it doesn't "hold" your ticket for you, it will be gone. Click fast, type fast, and don't hesitate!
      I am pinning your comment so that others may read the fantastic tip you shared! Thanks RonSwansmad!

      @@HeyChannelDaniOn our visit to Oahu in May 2023, 15 days , we were lucky to get a reservation to Hanauma Bay ✅ but honestly I thought the whole process was painful. Getting tickets , getting there (car hire), then waiting until your time slot is called.
      On our 2nd last day we got the Bus to Lanikai Beach, only costs $3 each way. It took approx 1 and half hours and walked onto this lovely beach. The snorkelling was great, the sand was brilliant white and looked out onto the near by islands of Moku Nui and Moku Iki.
      We are planning to return Oct 2024 for a week before getting a 18 night cruise ship back to Australia.
      We ate and did a hell of a lot during our 15 days in May but there were a few things we missed out on, so these we will do next year.

      Where else do you recommend snorkeling that won't be a hassle?

      @@jcv178 You can snorkel in Waikiki. The snorkeling at Lanikai beach was awesome, if you don’t have a car , take a bus there , it’s about an hour. We rode the bus from Waikiki with a change in Honolulu to Kailua , then jump on another bus to Lanikai Beach.
      There is also Sharks Cove on the Northside but you really need a car to get there. There are no sharks in Sharks Cove, but the area you snorkel in apparently is the shape of a shark. Hope this helps

    FYI.... Waimanalo=Why-mah-nah-loh
    Hanauma=Hah-now-mah
    Marukame/Marugame=Mah-roo-kah-may/Mah-roo-gah-may...p.s...Roll you tongue on R!-lol
    Duke Kahanamoku=Kah-hah-nah-moh-koo
    Waimea Falls offers better waterfall/botanical garden to walk thru than Manoa
    IMO...Book Arizona Memorial/Punchbowl National Cemetery/Bishop Museum same day, Iolani Palace(Ee-oh-lah-nee) another day....
