    Clay, thank you for posting these videos. So much of what is taught today mirrors professional players which is ok but fails to connect with the average golfer. Your instruction is really helpful for the rest of us. Thank you for all you do.

    I made one of these myself out of particle board and a piece of 1/2" pvc pipe about 4 years ago without the door stops (great idea). It's been a great help to me and it's nice to see how a Pro uses it. Thanks Clay!

    Absolutely brilliant video on the weight shift and the need to do so early on. Something that escaped me for fifty years! All beginners should start with this lesson as it is key to ball turf contact. Best video ever on weight shift I have ever seen. A real keeper. Thank you for this invention to illustrate.
    Query- I like the idea of lifting left toe to begin weight shift to the right on the way back, so why not do the same with the right toe on the way down? I could never get the bit about lifting the left heel on the back swing and slamming it down on the down swing. Never worked for me.

    • @TopSpeedGolf
      @TopSpeedGolf  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! It might be a little awkward lifting your right toe on the way down as your right heel starts coming up during the downswing. Lifting the left heel on the backswing is used to free up the hips and get more rotation which creates a greater distance for the club to accelerate. Play well! Nate |TSG

      I started researching this after doing the teeter totter drill with my golf trainer. I gained so much distance! Went from struggling to hit my 5 iron to 150m to crushing it and sending it 185m average.
      It feels like so much more things fell naturally in place before this drill. I was leant back way to far right resulting in frequently hitting the ground before the ball.

      @@TopSpeedGolf I knocked up a quick prototype from scrap timber yesterday Clay. On an indoor mat the lead side twists forward as I shift my pressure back to the left. Is this what you would expect?
      I took it onto the grass where it was a bit more stable. The result surprised me somewhat. Even though my feet are an inch or so above the ball (on a flat lie), I was suddenly taking significantly deeper divots than my normal very shallow ones. I assume that is because the more exaggerated (and perhaps earlier) weight shift generated a more downward angle of attack. Yes?

    • @TopSpeedGolf
      @TopSpeedGolf  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can start with the weight on your trail side especially if you're having trouble getting it there early in the backswing. It just won't be as powerful because there is less momentum going to your trail side which won't allow you to get as much pressure in the trail foot to create power. Play well! Nate | TSG Instructor

      @@TopSpeedGolf Hi again, Clay. I made a sheftic board, by experimenting. Maybe it’s brilliant, maybe it’s COMPLETELY wrong, but I thought I wanted to tell you, because it was you, who gave me the inspiration. First, I lay down a short, thin piece of broom on the ground between my feet and then the sheftic board. In the middle of the board, I’ve made a small curve which fitch the broom. Besides it works as a sheftic board it also controls your swing arc, because if you swing too much in or out, the board will move to the left or to the right of the target … because of sensitivity. Hope you understand my English/Danish.

    Why not start with your weight 50/50?
    Thanks 🏌🏾‍♂️

      You can, but it might be easier to start with more pressure on the trail foot. Play well! Nate | TSG

      @@TopSpeedGolf I was asking about 50/50 at start because clay mention starting with more weight on your lead foot before the start of the back swing and then transferring your weight to trail foot and back to front, so do u understand my question now.
      Thanks great videos👍😃🏌🏾‍♂️
