wow, thanks for this. the rulebook was melting my brain (especially since my game hasn't arrived yet to use as reference) and I was stressing over how I was going to teach this to my family. This video really helped me wrap my head around the basics of the game and I feel like I can pass that info on now... or maybe I'll just play this vid for everyone before we play
Thanks for the comment. And yes, many people have said that just playing my video at the start of the game session has worked very well. It is quicker than a teach in person, means that everyone hears the correct rules without any pressure on one person to have to learn and then explain them. Let me know how it goes.
I would like to thank you. Because of you, understanding and explaining Cerebria (and Gloomhaven, actually) will now be a lot easier. I'm a huge fan of Mindclash, they deliver some really brain- melting games, but they are so fun and challenging! I now own Cerebria, next to Anachrony and Trickerion, and I'm quite happy about that!
My wife and I watched this video and the other for our first game of Cerebria yesterday. It was very effective and so we enjoyed very much the game! Thanks Paul.
Thorough and well organized rules video 👍thanks Paul, I sure have to revisit this once the game arrives 😁 Note: at 20:58 the circles are not aligned 😉but I understand how long and tedious it is to produce a rules video for a heavy game 👍
Awesome explanation, as usual. Well done!!! Just a minor issue with it: the chapter about absorbing will power has been entitled "Absorb Essence", and that might cause confusion since this game has that much thematic names for every single aspect of it. Essence and will power are two different "currencies" here.
It's so good to see such interesting themes, instead of the same old tired clichés. Inside Out as a heavy board game, or even that lot from, was it the Dandy when we were kids? I'm probably going to be playing this at games night tonight, so this was wonderful to help me prepare. I have recommended your channel to the others but their English isn't that great! Now to see if I can print off a copy of the rules for myself while I watch the second video.
Just a comment about the game end, you said that after either game end condition occur the current player finishes their turn, but is there really anything a player can do on their turn after they have just done a revelation? My thought is that you can only do one absorb ability per turn, thus only one revelation, and the game end conditions can only occur during a revelation. Furthermore, you can only effect the outcome of the scoring during a revelation since that is the only time when you add identity pieces. Therefore it seems like in the basic version of the game the game ends immediately after either game end condition occur (this is not the case for the full game since a player may still score intentions). Just wanted to double check that I didn't miss anything?
oops. editing fail. There were a couple of errors with this one that snuck in during final edit and I was too ill to perform a final check. Really hate it but don't want to take the video down now :(
Thank you for another great rules video. I looked at this game before, but felt it was a bit too heavy for us. Your rules video confirmed this, so I'll give it a miss.
Minor issue Paul. The circles to highlight the costs for the upgraded version of the Fortify action are shifted a little at th-cam.com/video/qRE12PfQxL0/w-d-xo.html Really small thing for such an amazing video. Thanks again.
Yep, that was spotted by Abdulla earlier. Gutted about it and I know how it happened too, but the day when I was planning to do "final checks", I collapsed from exhaustion and was ill all day :( Glad it isn't something more major like a cow appearing on screen :)
that pause into smile at 25:51 gets me every time

Well, that's a mighty impressive rules vid, Paul. Amazed you squeezed that much info into a half-hour video! Well done.
Thanks. My testing of the script in person took over an hour, so I’m not quite sure how I got it all into 30 mins :)
@@GamingRulesVideos You're the man! Let's work together on future projects :)

Thank you Randall. Glad it helped.
Everything they have made so far is worth owning! Unbelievable quality
That got quite emotional in places

Glad it helped!
Waiting for my pre order ... hopefully the week after Essen

Rats. Something went wrong there :( Sorry about that.
Thanks for all your awesome videos!
Thanks Nathan
Thanks again for the amazing videos!
Thanks for the great video! Can't wait for my copy of this game to get here.
Awesome video, very clear explanation ! Thank you !
thanks!
Neat. Very well done video, Paul. Lots of #thumbsup.
thanks. You can only give one thumbs up though unfortunately :)
Great video! Really professional and easy to follow. Thank you!
Very keen to give this game a try sometime. It's not really my style of game, yet I keep finding myself drawn to it.
Awesome. Patiently awaiting my copy in the US. This will definitely help tide me over until then! Thanks!
Thanks so much for this video! I was having such a hard time wrapping my head around the rulebook!
When I first read it, I was overwhelmed and though this video would be an hour long. Turns out that it was actually a lot less :)
Awesome explanation, as usual. Well done!!!

Gah. You are right. Well spotted. Not sure how this wasn't spotted before. But of course, you are right, it isn't absorbing Essence at all!
Thank you. This was very helpful. Game is amazing btw
That a game for more of my taste :) very good explanation , another like to your channel :P
Thanks Adele. Hope it was useful.
As always, amazing show.

Fantastic job, thank you.
Very useful video..well done and thank you!!
Very intuitive rules video! What about the 5-6 player mode?
I didn’t have the extra box for that. I would be happy to do one if the publisher wanted it.
@@GamingRulesVideos Mindclash Games !! Do you here us ?!
Awesome video!!!! Thanks!!!!

You’re right, and I was considering saying this in the video but decided against it in the end.
Thank you for the video. I know it’s a lot of work and not easy at all.
Great job this is a difficult game
Despite of how great you are explaining board game rules, i still dont know how to play this game, maybe someone could help?
25:52 Daaaaahhhh!!!! Never do that again! #creepy 🤣

Same for us. It looks beautiful and I think I'd enjoy it but Lindsey probably wouldn't. Great video as always, Paul!

At 19:11 you say" you remove the right most essence" but you removed the left most essence. I think it was because you was on the opposite side.
Good spot. Yep - the rightmost essence from the card.
Nope, he does mean the most right. In this case it is the last one. You build your essence up to the right. Good video GR!
Making it easy the Grogan-way
Hi guys, has anybody played this solo? Is it worth buying for solo play? Looks a bit too complex for my family!
A bit of set-up time then? There's a lot going on
Yep, quite a bit, especially if you include deck-building your emotion deck.
You can bet this game will also not be finished in two hours. But I'm sure it's worth it.
Subtitles also in italian language please 🍀👍🏼
I'm more than happy to add them in if someone wants to provide them for me. I don't speak Italian :)
