I often get criticized when I say, "one person's utopia is another person's hell," because we can believe so firmly that our ways are the healthiest and best for everyone. I am truly shocked that some people honestly adore the city, the tech, the lights, the noise, but they do! They, in turn, can't understand my fascination with creeks, moss, gardens, and even the wonders of animal shit. Also, I recognize the privilege I have to live as I do where I do, even if means living with less money and opportunities. For example, I am cleaning a guest bedroom for a friend right now. Not a glamorous job. But, as I clean, I just watched their livestock guardian dog usher their goats and pet zebu to another pasture. I mean, how priceless is that!
