- Bailey is helping during my medical episode. 4-year-old Bailey the Aussie, tries his best to comfort his owner Katie during a POTS episode to keep her conscious, Bailey uses his nose to determine when Katie is going through an episode, he uses his sense of smell to tell when her heart rate is not going down. That's when he finds a way to comfort her. He is able to provide her with everything she needs. POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) is the most common dysautonomia. Its characterized by symptoms in multiple organ systems and an abnormal increase in heart rate (30 bpm in adults, 40 bpm in teens) upon standing. POTS is a common but under-recognized health condition affecting an estimated 1 in 100 teenagers and, in the United States, as many as 3 million adult and teen patients combined. The camera was set up because I had been filming a "day in my life" vlog. Normally if I catch episodes on film I will also add them to my medical journal.

Just double check the fridge for sausages before I close the door ....
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂 I was thinking the same thing. Dog deserves it too. ❤
I thought the same thing!😂🤣😂🤣
The owner is suffering from a disease and need medical attention from time to time.
😂😂
The training is amazing. The dog is like a nurse ! So efficient and precise . The dog/nurse knows what to grab and makes sure the patient is safe and warm. It’s truly beautiful . Thank you for sharing this moment with us. May You and your guardian angel continue to stay safe❤
I just wish they lived forever...
Glad that someone can train a K9 to respond to things like this it's so amazing to see... MY Hat's off to the trainers and the K9s...
Just about all dogs can do this, too! But to have a dog behave this way, they normally have to have positive reinforcement training, which is 3x faster than negative and results in a better bond.
@@unapologeticallyauthentic Their relatively short lives is a curse and a blessing. We only get to have them as part of our world for a brief part of our lives but we get to be their whole world for the entirety of theirs.
@Pow3llMorgan youre right absolutely right. I have one that someone decided it was a great idea (Instead of getting their other pet spade or neutered)that they would push a whole litter of 10 month Old dogs out the car door...😡🤬 I have 2 though and I love them so much!!
Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome
Also called: POTS
Symptoms related to the reduced blood volume that occurs when standing up.
This syndrome is usually triggered when a person stands up after lying down. It most commonly affects women between the ages of 15 and 50.
Thank You for the information
In the military it happens because people lock their knees. When you stand up keep your knees loose and slightly bent. Do not lock your knees or you will pass out.
Sorta like if you stand up too fast and everything goes black but worse?
The definition for being diagnosed for POTS is a sustained increase in heart rate of 30bpm or over when standing, it is specifically to do with the heart rate. Tachycardia means a heart rate of 100bpm or over. I just thought I'd let you know! :)
Edit: Little mistake!
And for people aged 12-19 it must be 40 bpm or over :)
best friend and best care taker you will ever have
Agree 100%
Better then a human caregiver! Most times you have to argue with a caregiver.
I agree. I also think hospitals should replace the doctors and nurses with dogs. It would be of a much better help for the patients for sure. Dogs can perform surgeries and other medical stuff with the blink of an eye and maximum efficiency.
@@asterixvortex2563😂spot on ❤💪🌹
I was impressed that he signaled to her to go to the ground.
I got teary eyes when he got her the blanket.
My jaw dropped when he opened the fridge to get the water, and just when I was thinking "imagine if he also closed the fridge door" HE DID!
I don't know what to say anymore, that's absolutely insane! Very well trained and smart dog ❤
Same here.. 😅 Absolute amazing and well trained dog!!!
One of the most amazing things I have ever seen. Even knowing about these kinds of service dogs I am still absolutely blown away by what these wonderful wonderful animals are capable of . The kind of relationship that humanity has with dogs and cats is easily one of the best things in life.
Their bottomless capacity for love and loyalty never ceases to move me.
Agreed 👍
I can never get over how absolutely amazing these dogs are❤
Yes, and he even closed the fridge door... how often have I had to remind my kids to do that!!
Wow and even randomly had camera set up watching that exact spot amazing
'cept thet smell
😢 dog is a angel.
Spell dog backwards...❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Incredible. Whoever first coined the phrase "we don't deserve dogs" seriously nailed it. He even closed the fridge after getting her everything she needed. I was watching along saying to myself, if he remembers to close the fridge that'll blow my mind, and sure enough. They give us love and loyalty because they genuinely do love us, those of us that recognize what a blessing they are. I hadn't heard of POTS before this video, but I hope the owner stays safe and healthy, and all love to her and her incredible companion ❤
Love that he signalled so quickly to warn her. What an amazing fur baby! ❤
When that sixth sense comes into play, it saves.
What a great companion you have to already know and get you ready for when it comes...... he is a blessing 🙏 ❤
An absolutely wonderful dog doing his job for the one he loves so very much!! What a Blessing!🙏🏼♥️🤗🤩🥰
Such a good loyal pup
this melted my heart, congratulations for having such a loving and caring companion
Now that's a good friend.
Wow. Doggo knew she was going to have an episode before it started. He got everything she needed. God bless whoever came up with the service dog idea. Besides being our most dearest friends, they are nurses in these cases.
The camera knew it too, crazy......
@@RFDarterWow almost like the description says she was filming a vlog all day to show her daily life 😳
God knows I love service dogs. My son has a service dog, I feel like he is the best dog ever. His service dog started life as a stray. I am so proud of the work our dog does. And, our dog has gone beyond taking care of just our son, and he helps me out now too. I gotta say though, I am so happy watching your service dog in action. What a great pup ❤
That's a good dog. God bless him. I wish my boy had that kind of training.
Get it
That is really amazing!!❤❤❤ so glad you have that precious fur baby to help you.
A smart dog always helps his owner whenever she needs help.
What a blessing she has in that baby . Amen ❤
A dogs 🐕 purpose in life is multiplied by their understanding of what humans need. It is a skill that comes naturally to them. From friendship companionship guidance and healing us all we should all thank God for gifting humanity with his very special angels 😇 ❤️
Incredible. Dont you just love a smart dog ❤🐕
Remarkable dog
How these dogs just seem to know, is beyond me!! 🙏💕❤️
Not all heroes wear capes! Some wear fur.
Good dog! He brought her water. In POTS, your blood pools into your legs, reducing blood volume. This makes the heart beat faster to compensate.
Drinking water helps increase blood volume. My friend with POTS will chug several liters of water when she has a bad day.
I believe she should have laid down fully and propped her feet higher than her head, allowing the blood to return to her torso and head.
Yeah see drinking water does nothing for my pots but if I get my legs up onto the wall or whatever is there then usually it'll begin to steady it. It can take a good 30 minutes - 45 minutes sometimes. All of the other symptoms are an issue as well. Some people think it's just tachycardia but it isn't. There's the sweats, the nausea, the headaches, the oxygen hunger, the hyperventilation and so much more to deal with.
@@david18ireland It does take time for all that liquid to seep back into your bloodstream from the interstitial spaces in your legs.
POTS affects each person differently. Some people can still work while others become severely disabled. The medications used can have their own problems (side effects).
Having that dog to alert her must be quite a blessing.
@ninalehman9054 yeah I love drinking water but I'm just one of those that it doesn't really do much for. I still keep hydrated though. I feel her suffering because it can be literally instantaneous that you feel your legs giving out.
Looks like it was a win!!
Sitting is still better than a full on faceplant.
Wow ..Amazing I need a service dog to help me when I do not have much energy service dogs appear more loving caring bcus that's what they're trained for to do ...Amen for them
Service dogs are for disabled people only. If the dogs main purpose is to provide comfort and make people "happy" then it's not a service dog 🤷♀️
Wow! What a dog!👏🏼👍
Dogs are just Amazing
Dogs are amazing! ❤ What a fantastic display of love and great training.
Absolutely amazing and beautiful dog doing exactly what it needs to do to preserve its owner from harm health wise. ❤️👏🙏🙏👍
OH MY GOD!!! THAT'S AN AWESOME DOG!!! THANK GOD THIS DOG WAS THERE FOR THAT YOUNG LADY!!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
So Beautifully dedicated to getting you to sit down. You are very blessed,I hope you realize that. God bless you both.
Now, he is a Good Boy. He’s well trained but also very gentle with his human. Honestly many healthcare professionals can learn from this pup.
So lucky have a real friend ❤
Beautiful boy....
I have symptoms of this sometimes: getting dizzy and/or lightheaded when standing up after laying down for a while. First few times it happened it was scary. Glad this lady has a service dog to help
I loved how he went and got her a blanket and a drink so clever !
good dog hope the best for them both
He is soo precious . 🙏🐶🙏❤❤
That has got to be one of the most sweetest, precious, incredible, sincerest, amazing, outstanding, remarkable, angelic, beautiful moments between a gorgeous young lady and her gorgeous, most talented dog I've EVER seen...I am so sorry you have to deal with this. Truly, I don't think I could be that strong ..
I sincerely envy people just like you. Not that you would want to be 'envied' from being sick, I mean, the mind and will power you must have, is amazing within itself..
That's what I envy...and the fact that your dog is a GENIUS, doesn't hurt..
Peace be with the both of you...❤❤❤
Amazing what a dog can learn 🤗
That dog is INCREDIBLY SMART INTELLIGENT!!
Animals are so clever and loving way more than humans x❤
Great dog!

WHOA!
It's almost as if the camera was placed in the perfect spot at the perfect time! What an absolute coincidence!!!
Crazy....
Wow, what a wonderfully trained & loving care giver!
A faithful friend who wants nothing but for her person to be safe and ❤
I was like "i swear to god if he closes the door" AND THEN HE DID. WHAT A GOOD BOY
Truly, these beautiful animals are gifts from the Lord. Sadly, many of them all over the world are treated very badly.
That dog moves with a sense of urgency I've NEVER seen medical staff move with. I was once screaming in pain from two kidney stones in the left kidney and three in the right kidney. -___- the nurses just walked by me with their ears covered. I was literally dying.
How are you still here than if you were dying?
How could the nurse helped you?
Dog are the best❤! How precious your dog was able to help yOu. I hope he/she got lots of treats, belly rubs and kisses after😊.
It's amazing how they can train dogs and make them aware of any kind of episode starting of any kind
When he didn’t find what he needed in the fridge he knew to check elsewhere and found it. Amazing!!
Bardzo dobry pomocnik i przyjaciel

It’s their nose!! Their smell is like 100x what ours is!!! ❤❤❤
I am amazed by dogs they are godsend. That is incredible what they can do. I wish I could afford to have a service dog for me to warn me when my sugar is low. That would help me. Dogs are so smart.
Such Brilliance for dogs 🐕 to be trained to do this is quite remarkable ( May you and guardian ,).enjoy many more years together 😮😊😅❤❤❤
Incredible ability. UNREAL
Okos ,szép nagyon jó barát❤❤❤❤❤
Absolutely amazing to watch!!!
Super dog to the rescue, God bless you both 😊😊😊😊😊
Amazing
My dog taught himself to prevent me from standing up too fast and it took years for me to figure it out! He is very friendly but also protective and seemingly knows who is there to help me. Seeing as a lot of the time my faints are associated with opening the front door, he will hop around at the person's feet until they come in and pull my lifeline cord. There have been three occasions he didn't let someone in, with my ex-mil, a guy who was selling cleaning products door to door and one carer fr the agency out if the thirty different ones who could come out. Oh and he won't get out of my lap after a faint if he thinks I will go down again. It's amazing how he knows who police and paramedics are although that's probably because our beat Bobby knows him. Dogs are awesome.
Astonishing. Simply astonishing. `Good Dog` just won't cut it.
Awesome dog.He is amazing and beautiful ❤😊😊😊
A precious sweet doggie baby! Take good care of your human mommy👍😘🐶 just so adorable ❤️😘🐶😃
This literally made me cry
Wow. Amazing
