I think Benedict Cumberbatch is the best Sherlock Holmes EVER. I know some people like what Robert Downey Jr. did in the two movies they made with him as Sherlock and Jude Law as Watson, but Mr.Downey kinda ruined my image of SH, he made the character to dependent on Watson, which in my opinion is bad. Because Watson didn't need Sherlock at all, they both have to need each other to some extent and I think that Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch are the best Sherlock and Watson. :D
Cedar Johnson I agree with you but I do like Downeys (sorry if spelt wrong) version as it's different but no, Benedict Cumberbatch is THE Sherlock to me
yah..i agree...and Robert downey'as character was like weird,socially awkward one.while benedict's was a genius,smart,and had a swag😄. But i think in novel,SH was like robert downey's
He’s ‘a’ great Sherlock. But don’t discredit the others. They all put in time and effort. Plus people tend to like series more because they can always expect a new mystery from the new episode while movies start and end. Benedict may be gold but he isn’t the best. They all are
nadejda k. I would too. And no, Mrs Hudson, thank you but we won't need the second bedroom upstairs... But funny fact is, when I watched the first episode with my roommate, she was like OMG, he's so like you! You two in a flat and the house would explode after an hour or you would die cause you ran out of food...
He words everything so well! Gotta say 'fills the food with fridge' made me laugh :D I love Sherlock AND Benedict, brilliant character but it takes someone with real talent to play the part so well. I love the books and BBC Sherlock is my favourite adaption. Mark Gatiss and Steve Moffat (the worlds biggest sherlock holmes fans) have written such brilliant scripts, modernised, witty, and stay true to the original literature. But without Benedict and Martin it wouldn't be the same, they bring the words on the script to life, it's the combined work all of them that makes the show so perfect and you can say what you like about the actors, I for one think they're incredible but those that don't like ben or the others can't deny the talent involved, on all sides.
Yeah oh my gosh The Sign of Three, was just ONE BIG FANFICTION ONE-SHOT. You know how people always say that they would love to see their favourite fanfictions filmed? Well there you go! what do you think about season 3 so far?
Oh, me too! :O aaaah, its just so great that Sherlock IS BACK! (but he will be gone..again! Why are there only 3 episodes in a season!!!!!) Yeah, I'm on tumblr! Or whats left of it, after we sherlockians trashed it this week;) are you?
Benedict's voice is just incredible. He has the most beautiful and expressive voice I've ever heard, and god knows there is a tough competition amongst actors.
I love both Brett and Benedict for what they brought to the Sherlock Holmes legacy. The Jeremy Brett Granada series was outstanding, and 'Sherlock' is a beautiful updating of the Conan Doyle stories with a reverence and respect for them at the same time. I like to think Jeremy Brett would have enjoyed 'Sherlock' if he were still with us.
I am a HUGE Sherlock Holmes fan, I've read all the stories and seen as many of the movies and tv shows i can get my hands on. BBC's Sherlock was amazing. Extremely well written and they picked the cast soo well. I was impressed at how the managed to modernize Sherlock Holmes without loosing the Sherlock Holmes quality. WELL DONE! lol, sorry about the rant, had to get it out.
he stammered only three times in this interview. This one can literally sing God save the king in one breath. he sure can talk, this one i'll give him that
Otherworldly, ethereal - yes, even though he described Sherlock, it fits him too. He looks like a big alien cat, and has the voice to match. He is quite unique.
LOL! seriously one person in the world who uses the word ''bombastic'' I thought no one used that, besides of course the song Which is stuck in my head now xD
omnomnomnomnomnom. *drools* did you say something Benedict?? Sorry was was too busy just falling down at your feet begging you to love me in the same way.
@Mahnahmahnahful I think it comes with being an actor and immersing yourself into the character's role, especially a role as smart and quick-minded as Sherlock. I don't doubt Benedict is intellectual on his own though. Just my two cents ^^
@LucianaMihaela It's obvious. If he is a socio/psychopath then were is the sexual perversion/promiscusity, the physical torture of animals, the history of deliquency as a child? He appears to be a socio/psychopath because he was alone and withdrawn. But John is changing that, John is bringing him out of his shell.
he and Tom Hiddleston have amazing vocabulary. I'm Russian and I understand English pretty good, but when they're speaking I sometimes have problems with some uncommon words :D
I can't even explain how much i adore Benedict Cumberbatch. I just love everything about him. First: His qualities as an actor are incredible. He's so professional and talented and I don't think that he just "plays" the intelligent characters. It's how he articulates. He must be smart himself to be such an good actor, to play such intelligent characters. Just look at this wonderful human being. At first I didnt get why everyone is so obsessed with him, just by seeing a few pictures of him. I was like, what's so special about him. But on screen. Gosh, this man is so attractive, it hurts. Now after watching Sherlock, and after watching like every interview on youtube, im so in love with this man. Like seriously. He's humorous, smart, handsome, charming, so intelligent but kinda innocent. So cute, adorable and lovely. But also so manly. I think I've never heard such an perfect deep voice, I wouldn't mind just listening to him speaking about the world all day long. I can't explain what he does to me, but I've never seen a man so perfect in every way. I would be so honored if i could meet him some day. He's a man i could talk to all day long and just be fascinated by him.
+Thera Mina its just so True. I spammed like all the other Videos with how perfect He is. The List of reasons why he's so attractive is just sooo long now.
I absolutely agree with you. His works are always brilliant and as the human being he is just beautiful inside and out. Nowdays there are so many "stars" who are truly rubish and seing Benedict truly gives me hope.
The way he speaks about his role as Sherlock, the words he uses are beautiful and mesmerizing; it makes me slightly wish that Ben would write his own fan fiction scenario about Sherlock and his adventures.
Normally I'm not a fangirl, I mean I like many things, but don't go totally crazy on them. But if I would meet Benedict Cumberbatch, I think I would completely lose my mind. I admire him so much for his acting skills and as far as I can tell, he is such a wonderful person! I would have so many questions I want to ask him, but in the end I wouldn't get out a word, I think.
he's so fucking adorable, he doesn't even notice he messes up "food with fridge" because his general eloquence and spontaneity is already in itself fucking captivating and distracting
Omar kyon yea cuz men don't do anything of the sort with women they like or are attracted too, don't they. mmmhmm absolutely. not at all. no over-sexualising. no over-objectifying. nope. none at all when MEN are in opinion of women. it's always the WOMEN who over-exaggerate. never MEN. isn't it. how obvious of me.
Personally speaking... As beautiful as you are Sara, i would completely diagree with you there. Guys are sensitive as fuck! You just have to know where the weakspots are thats all. As for over-exaggeration... I do it all the time for someone i love and adore :p
MrWasayB i never once said guys "aren't" sensitive. I was just pointing out to the previous commenter that WOMEN aren't the only ones who, according to him, "go overboard" with their attractions or likings. it was my way of counter arguing his obvious attack on WOMEN who he directly stereotyped with "over-board" ways of actions, without being unnecessarily abrasive or aggressive or just plain rude, as most youtube commenters are. i was being purposefully sarcastic and satirical with the same issues with MEN that are just as present, just to make a highlight of what the commenter was indirectly implying. whether or not those issues are mostly sexualised or objectified was an emphasis on my part which i now do realize may have been unnecessary, but it still remains as fact in the world we are living in, and it was the only way i knew i could impart my opposing opinion to him through humour. my own blunt, sarcastic, satirical humour. But thank you for giving your insight on the matter, especially in a way that's calm and respectful. oh and thanks for calling me beautiful. you're beautiful too :)

Cedar Johnson you should watch the Russian one as well. They do have subs version too.
Cedar Johnson I agree with you but I do like Downeys (sorry if spelt wrong) version as it's different but no, Benedict Cumberbatch is THE Sherlock to me

I would love to share a flat with Sherlock. :D
nadejda k. I literally couldn't. I would melt every single time he walked past me :'I
nadejda k. I would too. And no, Mrs Hudson, thank you but we won't need the second bedroom upstairs...
But funny fact is, when I watched the first episode with my roommate, she was like OMG, he's so like you! You two in a flat and the house would explode after an hour or you would die cause you ran out of food...
+nadejda k. I'd also love to share a flat with Sherlock ...and SO much more! :-D
I read this and I feel like I wanna start crying because I imagined it and WHY ISN'T HE REAL?
nadejda k. Do u really tho
When he speaks its just so relaxing... I might end up buying an audio book read by him just for that.
Theres one of him reading Casanova on TH-cam which is good
He also reads Sherlock 😂
Hmmm
Couldn't agree more
I love how he can pull a word like"tempestuous" out of no were. Never under estimate the power of a good vocabulary.
I could listen to him talk all my life long... His voice... What he says is so interesting! Damn, he's smart as well as cultivated! Simply FLAWLESS!
He's so articulate. Benedict is just so amazing
His vocab...tempestuous O.O I WANT HIS VOCAB!!!!
I could listen to Mr. Cumberbatch all day, he sounds so smart and nice :)
(^////^)

i believe he portrayed sherlock holmes better than any other ive ever seen
He words everything so well! Gotta say 'fills the food with fridge' made me laugh :D I love Sherlock AND Benedict, brilliant character but it takes someone with real talent to play the part so well. They are the worlds biggest sherlock fans, and they just basically fil their own fanfiction XD
haha yes! (and given season 3 so far, our fanfics too!...have you seen? :D)
Yeah oh my gosh The Sign of Three, was just ONE BIG FANFICTION ONE-SHOT. You know how people always say that they would love to see their favourite fanfictions filmed? Well there you go! what do you think about season 3 so far?
LOVE IT! (terrified for His Last Vow though!) are you on Tumblr? :)
Oh, me too! :O aaaah, its just so great that Sherlock IS BACK! (but he will be gone..again! Why are there only 3 episodes in a season!!!!!) Yeah, I'm on tumblr! Or whats left of it, after we sherlockians trashed it this week;) are you?

I Love his cheekbones ^^ And that voice is to die for
Benedict's voice is just incredible. He has the most beautiful and expressive voice I've ever heard, and god knows there is a tough competition amongst actors.

he sounds just like Jeremy Brett
I love both Brett and Benedict for what they brought to the Sherlock Holmes legacy. I like to think Jeremy Brett would have enjoyed 'Sherlock' if he were still with us.

Wow, I mean wow. I could listen to him all day.

Yes, he is. And, I saw the 15 minute advert in IMAX.
The more I listen to his voice the more I fall for him..
JOHNLOCK FOREVER
Am i the only one who noticed he said 'fills the food with fridge' 2:59 ?
lol when I read that I didn't get what you were saying until he said it.
Does anyone else wish they could listen to him speak forever?
he stammered only three times in this interview. This one can literally sing God save the king in one breath. he sure can talk, this one i'll give him that
I just found myself smiling through-out this entire video.
Hahaha! I totally didn't notice that he said that! Had to go back to hear it again after reading your comment.
Otherworldly, ethereal - yes, even though he described Sherlock, it fits him too. He looks like a big alien cat, and has the voice to match. He is quite unique.
I' very bad in english so I understand nearly nothing but I must see the full video because I love his voice!
@tartfuel thanks for the info. I'm glad that Freeman is sticking around.
There is a way: put this on repeat. (but even that's not enough)
HIS FACE! HIS VOICE! JUST SO ASDFGHJKL
He really responds well to the girl who's interviewing him. All smiles and wafflebatch. :)
It was really said when Molly got Sherlock a gift for Christmas I felt so bad for her :(

MY OVARIES EXPLODED THE MOMENT HE OPENED HIS MOUTH.
I'm Autistic
I'm a LOT like Sherlock

His voice: a jaguar in a cello. Yum.

LOL! seriously one person in the world who uses the word ''bombastic''
I thought no one used that, besides of course the song
Which is stuck in my head now xD
OMG. preach. you speak nothing but truths
I was just telling a friend I'd love it if he could just read the phone book to me when I have insomnia. I'd settle for an MP3 of it... lol.

Ethereal, otherworldly, bombastic? Oh yeaw ♥
They need each other :)
It's pretty amazing :D

I love how he says jumping off a balcony so casually.... :/
Yes!! :D
Oh my jesus, the thumbnail.
Where's the "FUCKING LOVE IT" button?
3:00 "fills the food with fridge"
I think Sherlock and Watson are the first bromance ever.
Oh my god, the comments...
No, you know what.. why am I even suprised..
That's exactly what he said :)
watching this made me hungry so I'm gonna get some fridge from the food!
Agreed.
Just by hearing this guy talk I now understand why they picked him for Sherlock Holmes..
Anybody else catch that he said "fill the food with fridge"?
It's definitely "fills the food with fridge." But who hasn't ever committed a "Spoonerism" in his/her life? ;)
l'esprit d'escalier or l'esprit de l'escalier. literally staircase wit.
@CrystalRose289 lol, he said "puts the food in the fridge" I think XD
D: What did he do to his hair! It's not all fluffy! (But THAT VOICE)
omnomnomnomnomnom. *drools* did you say something Benedict?? Sorry was was too busy just falling down at your feet begging you to love me in the same way.
@SpanTheWorld14 And just generally totally awesome!
@mabuse1976 I'll have to agree with you there. It makes good good sense.
hes just so sherlock-like! agsieugdfaoiewbfslkb feelss
@Mahnahmahnahful I think it comes with being an actor and immersing yourself into the character's role, especially a role as smart and quick-minded as Sherlock. I don't doubt Benedict is intellectual on his own though. Just my two cents ^^
if that would be Sherlock sitting there, he'd be really mad because Donovan is sitting opposite to him xD
@LucianaMihaela It's obvious. If he is a socio/psychopath then were is the sexual perversion/promiscusity, the physical torture of animals, the history of deliquency as a child? He appears to be a socio/psychopath because he was alone and withdrawn. But John is changing that, John is bringing him out of his shell.
this man is just ... too much. much too much. :P
There's only one thing wrong with the sherolock bbc thing.
people outside Britain can't see the video's on the bbc site:(''
PMS level: sherlocked
@yellow1980daisy u were probably (and quite rightly) just focusing more on his face
I agree with bakakankaku
His voice sound like a panther trapped in a cello...
@alexandrakatie ohh, thank you!
yeah, but lighting is still important....its something being filmed. and lighting is used to make the actor look great, not just show a light on him
he actually talk like sherlock = =
Kind of wierd seing this face actually slowly thinking while speaking.... :-D :-D
his vocabulary is amazing.... not all English man have vocabs knowledge like him.
Love it
I was just about to comment that!
killua123333 Although he muttered 'filled the food with fridge'
he and Tom Hiddleston have amazing vocabulary.
I'm Russian and I understand English pretty good, but when they're speaking I sometimes have problems with some uncommon words :D
I have to google words from time to time watching his interviews and Sherlock
How refreshing to watch an interview with a celebrity who is thoughtful and articulate.

You speak from my soul
+Thera Mina its just so True. I spammed like all the other Videos with how perfect He is. The List of reasons why he's so attractive is just sooo long now.
I actually think it's endless
+Thera Mina damn right
I absolutely agree with you. His works are always brilliant and as the human being he is just beautiful inside and out. Nowdays there are so many "stars" who are truly rubish and seing Benedict truly gives me hope.
His voice though, OMG.
yes, christ.
Irk!
Tf I didn't even know I commented shit 6 years ago lmao
this goes to prove that "smart (really is) the new sexy"!
Brainy is the new sexy 👀
I totally agree with Benedict. Sherlock IS truly a very attractive character
The way he speaks about his role as Sherlock, the words he uses are beautiful and mesmerizing; it makes me slightly wish that Ben would write his own fan fiction scenario about Sherlock and his adventures.
Does he ever breathe!!!!!!
+Natasha Finch no
+Natasha Finch seemingly effortlessly inbetween ;)
0:13 it’s like he’s holding his breath until the last second and then he breathes. That’s why his voice gets lower and lower right before he breathes
Tash Finch emineme
Normally I'm not a fangirl, I mean I like many things, but don't go totally crazy on them.

I'm exactly the same way. I was never into this fangirling thing but then I discovered him.
he's so fucking adorable, he doesn't even notice he messes up "food with fridge" because his general eloquence and spontaneity is already in itself fucking captivating and distracting
your words are more captivating ^_^
why do women always go overboard with the stars they like??
Omar kyon yea cuz men don't do anything of the sort with women they like or are attracted too, don't they. mmmhmm absolutely. not at all. no over-sexualising. no over-objectifying. nope. none at all when MEN are in opinion of women. it's always the WOMEN who over-exaggerate. never MEN. isn't it. how obvious of me.

oh and thanks for calling me beautiful.
you're beautiful too :)
