    The List of reasons why Benedict is just amazing and perfect gets longer with every Interview I watch. Since I watched Sherlock I wanted to see every Interview he's in on TH-cam, because he amazed me so much as an actor. After watching the Interviews he amazed me even more as a person. I can't explain how fascinated I am about how many talents this guy has.
    Just look at this wonderful human being:
    He's so talented as an actor, he really feels into the characters he plays.
    He's also very talented in Imitations of other actors. I love what he can do with his voice.
    And that voice by the way, is the best thing I've ever heard. Combined with that British accent.
    He's incredibly funny and humorous.
    He's smart and classy. The way he talks and articulates amazes me every single time.
    And he's a real conversationalist. I would love to just chat with him about anything.
    He's so charming and charismatic and thoughtful.
    He's so kind and so polite. I mean, in so many Interviews where the Interviewer thank him for the Interview he says „my pleasure“. So cute. Also he always defends his fans. Everytime it comes to the word „Cumberbitches“ he says how unlikely to the name his fans are. That they are great and supportive. And these are just 2 of many examples.
    He's such an incredibly nice and humble and down-to-earth guy, compared to other celebrities.
    On "Setlock" he just goes to his fans, talks to them and even sings happy birthday to one of his fans.
    Like how cute is this. He's just adorable.
    But soo manly too. Handsome and sexy. Gosh.
    I can't even tell how much I adore Benedict Cumberbatch.
    And I love this Name too btw. Ugh, Pure Perfection.

    Did anybody notice how, under his breath, Ben murmured : "that made no sense at all" at 42:56 ? This man formulates his sentences so well, and chooses his words so carefully, yet he never gives credit to himself for doing so.. don't worry Ben, it did make sense, and we appreciate your lovely constructed sentences :) x

    Benedict seems like a geniunely classsy guy: eloquent, humble, intelligent, and always well-dressed be it casual (like in this Q&A panel) or on talk shows. Sure, I'd imagine he may get tired of the same questions from fans - he IS human, after all - but to handle it so well when we see so much bad, bratty behavior from certain celebs is quite refreshing. And I can't help but be mesmerized by his looks and his voice! Would LOVE to meet him someday. :-)

    Andrew Scott "Moriarty" was fantastic in the show. I would say equally as good or better than Sherlock. Between him and Sherlock...they make that show. Love it!

    • @bctopper
      @bctopper 11 ปีที่แล้ว +25

      While I agree Cumberbatch is phenomenal, his character has a bit of a monotone in expression, while Moriarty is more expressive. They both play awesome, intelligent characters. Just my thoughts. :)

    • @YourPlanetHere
      @YourPlanetHere 11 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      bctopper It's the contrast they makes them work so well, as well as their overlap that makes them rivals.

    • @maggie14411331
      @maggie14411331 10 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      bctopper There are a lot of subtle nuances in Cumberbatch's performance, the blink-you-would-miss moments. He's definitely not monotone. It seems to be fashion to diss Cumberbatch now. You don't have to talk down one to uplift the other. Cumberbatch needs to carry the show, if he didn't deliver, I can understand your point, but he delivered it phenomenally. Sherlock is not Cumberbatch's show, but without his performance, it can't possibly be so compelling.

    I like to think of it as said in Doctor Who: "You know when sometimes you meet someone so beautiful, then you actually talk to them and five minutes later they're as dull as a brick? Then there's other people and you meet them and you think, 'Not bad, they're okay.' And then you get to know them and their face just sort of becomes them. Like their personality's written all over it, and they just turn into something so beautiful."
    His talent, generosity and charm are what makes him gorgeous

    • @heathergittens3223
      @heathergittens3223 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      He's right. They want the audience to get to know the characters, and not give too much away. Otherwise, people will lose interest. And it gives the audience the opportunity to read the books(unless we already read the books, perhaps a refresher of the stories) for more information and do a compare/contrast such as the following: are the books better than its adaptations or vice-versa? I cannot say about Steven Moffat's other interviews because I'm not really into him. I came here for Benedict Cumberbatch and the Sherlock Holmes stories.

However, series 3 is almost ALL back story for various characters, including Sherlock. Just another Moffat-ism. Ha!

To talk about art, and craft, processes, collaborations and ideas would be a gift. Thank you to all.

    I love how Steven Moffat admitted that he would want to have tea w/ Irene Adler IN FRONT OF HIS WIFE! I died laughing at his comment: "It's just tea!"

    Martin Crief- It's a character he plays on the BBC Radio called Cabin Pressure and it's hilarious to hear this character when you have seen him play Sherlock.

    I've loved their version of Holmes since I first stumbled upon it. Ben seems to have a true feel of the flip-side of having a Sherlockian mind - almost too good. I am convinced he shares many traits with the character.
    When he is asked those kinds of questions his eyes go down and to the right ( or the left from viewer's perspective) which points to a kinesthetic connection to the character. Like me, his connection to him grew over time with increased understanding of what drives Holmes to make the personal choices he makes. When talking about modern 'post-freudian' labels, (i.e. Aspergers) his eyes go from down and right, to slightly up to the mid left and then up and to the left ( or the right from viewers perspective) which indicates that he is accessing sound and visual memories. For an actor it could be remembering lines, it's easier for most really good spellers to 'see the words' very much like the text on screen in the show, but probably slower and not as clear which, if you think about it, is really just a controlled and intentional form of hallucination. I would love a chance to talk his ear off and pick his brain on this and a few other subjects on which I think his insights would be invaluable to me.
    Anyway, my truncated point is that Sherlock's drug habits are very much like what you might expect from someone who is prescribed Ritalin, which if you do the research, turns out is very similar to cocaine in pharmacological terms. For someone with ADHD. Adderall is another chemical with similar results, but slightly different mechanism. They speed up one part of the brain so that it can keep up with the other part that is always on overdrive or the opposite - the one part that is always lagging behind the rest bottlenecking the system. This has to do with the timely release and uptake of neurotransmitters as well as other parts of the metabolic machinery. He needs it to focus when he doesn't have anything interesting or novel enough to grab his attention. He withdraws into his mind and does this best when the people around him give him space to find his zone.
    Ben is right though, it's headache inducing and exhausting and as Sherben Cumberholmes said to Watson, 'i can't just turn it on and off like a tap' it's just always on and the only way to find peace sometimes, at least for me is sensory deprivation, white noise, instrumental music; preferably strings or brass but not always.
    Once a migraine does set in from sensory overload, very few things can help it subside, one of which is finally gaining legal acceptance across the country and the world, which raises my quality of life tremendously. There are many times when just a few inhaled doses solves a problem in minutes that otherwise would last ALLLL DAY LONG. Sometimes the pain is sharp, like an icepick trying to poke its way out from inside my head - if i don't resolve it fast nausea sets in and then i get really really cranky. At this point most if not all noises and lights are annoying and even painful. Other times, it's dull, pressure and a lingering dizziness or vertigo like sensation accompanied by aversion to many sounds and visuals but tolerable under certain conditions - ok screw it I'm gonna have to set up a proper blog to write out some essays on this, i can't be the only one - any other adhd, ocd, aspie, intp, intj peeps out there who might be interested in ways to be more high functioning, via embracing our hot poker, double edged sword like 'blessings' as he so kindly put it? This is our age, the age of the data crunching, fact spewing, story weaving, inducted deducers of all of existence - except for the boring stuff.

    I love the last question! When Moffat said he'd have the last word, I thought, well, yes, he would just kill them both, they'd drop dead. Forever. And at 46:55, I see Benedict in the background, and I feel like he's secretly heartbroken that that interaction won't happen, just like we are.

    Moffat's comments about Mark Gatiss are the best part of this! Not loving how eager the question askers are to promote themselves. The "I'm not a superfan"-and-"Your cheekbones are beyond words"-girl made me embarrassed. Ridiculous people. Many good questions, though. Just spare us (and the three guests) the uninteresting stories about yourselves.

    I can't sing Benedict's praises enough here. 12:20-ish, his response to the American version called "Elementary"...... I just...... he is such an amazingly humble and respectful person. As much as I die every day wishing that woman could be me, ANY woman would be BEYOND lucky to have him on her arm.

    The one thing that annoyed me about this is the women who turns around and says "I'm not a super fan" Does she not realise she took the spot of a person that would practically give anything they had to be there!

    Oh man. I was doing my best not to make any "Tumblr Fangirl" jokes, but when somebody explicitly brings up Tumblr in an interview that began with audio clipping due to fangirl screaming, I can't help but burst into laughter. I'm sorry. I really did try to "check my privilege" but that's just too damn funny.
