I just discovered you!!! Oh my goodness I'm having such lovely flashbacks of my wedding dress in 1967... hand cutting the flowers from Chantilly Lace to hand applique onto the bodice and sleeves of my dress, with hand placed pearls that randomly followed the lines of the motifs. My mother made my beautiful dress with a drapping train... and created my lovely head piece and veil. We just celebrated our 55 Wedding Anniversary this past Christmas Eve (2022)... please keep sharing. Cheers
Your quilts are wonderful. Not only beautiful in their design but loaded with memories. It’s amazing that you have kept so much from previous generations and treasured them. You must make sure that your family appreciate these items and take care of them for future generations....even your amazing dolls, mice and dolls houses. I love them all.❤️Angela
Hello from Tennessee! My grandmother crocheted and made lace like your pieces of heirloom lace. She use to use them on all her good towels and pillow case edges. She always crocheted right on the washcloths...every single one she had! I still have the strips of crocheted lace because she just stitched the finished lace on towels and pillow cases.😜. Maybe you'd like that idea for yours? Special decorative hand towels. 😊
Oh wow. This is awesome. You have the most fantastic fabrics and laces Arne and Carlos. Thank you for showing how to use them most effectively without waste. So very happy that I found your channel.
Arne, you are so intricate in your cutting. I enjoy listening and watching you two very much. I have many laughs every time. Thank you for sharing your time with us.
You are motivating me so much. I have a ton of fabric even some scraps from Liberty of London and can't wait to tackle a crazy quilt..I am too a sucker to buying old fabric and lace in thrift shops and the cupboards are bursting by now. Thanks for sharing your awesome ideas,
Thank you for sharing I’m going to do a crazy quilt. So I’m watching a lot of videos on TH-cam . I have some many projects going on I need a stress relief. Thank again God bless you and your families.
OH! I learned so much watching you both....TY for taking time to help all of us to improve our methods. I live in MN...60 miles south of Canada. I am disabled cannot drive any more. With the Big stores blocking the use of food cards to smaller states we need to make all we can from old clothing. My patch work quilt will keep out the 50 below weather! I do not have lace or other frills but I try to do the flowers by hand. God bless you.
Great video guys. So inspirational. I really feel like I need to tell you that you can get sharpeners for scissors. Look on Amazon. Fiscars make one that will bring new life to your scissors. You don't have to buy new ones. Let's be sustainable. Xxx
I love how you work together . Like my husband and I. I realise you are very talented people. I also have a lot of talent. I wanted to show you. Because you asked to see peoples work. I hope you both recover from the flu . I sew I had a shop. I also crochet and knit. Draw do pottery and paint. But e are all learning constantly. I have worked on panto costume. But patchwork is so inspiring to me as well. I love journal making . But my first love is my children and grand children. But I can show you my evening bag if you like.
I was so happy to see another crazy quilt episode pop up! It can be quite consuming. I find myself eyeballing bits of lace and fabric everywhere. I've recently started a hoarder's crazy quilt to get rid of some of the material I hang onto to use someday...I have family clothing or material I just like that I never use but can't bear to part with. I am cutting a hunk off and making a square, I'm not worrying about color or placement, I can make it pretty with the embellishing. It is a use it or lose it quilt!
Come to my house and we can have a sew party. Ive totes of clothes I plan on making into crazy quilts for my kids now into their 30's. And one dear 👼 never finished her quilt. Anyway lots of love for ypur quilts.
I think this would make a beautiful bedspread. They don't sell bedspreads anymore around this part of the U.S.A. If you want a bedspread, you have to make it (or hire someone to make it for you). You are working with a lot of fabrics that I would never wear. However, I do have some fancy scraps that I need to do something with. Thank you for this lesson.
oh you are making crazy quilts which is my favorite past time. I am much more inclined to this type of art than knitting, so this works great for me. Lovely work you are doing
Hey do you have any scrapbooking videos please ? I think I heard you mention about using some fine fabrics to use for that ? This is very nice finishing touches !
I was mesmerized by the snow coming down outside as you sit cozy in your house, working on your patchwork projects. How much snow did you get that day.. It looked like it was coming down wet and heavy. I live in southern British Columbia where we do still get snow in the mountains around us and the skiers love that, but I'm just as happy if it stays up there on the mountains. Many times I have wanted to use my tidbits of lace that I have kept from many projects over the years, but I was always afraid I would either ruin it or miss it because all of it has special memories for me. My mother has remnants of lace that her mother and grandmother made by hand. It comes out to be admired from time to time, but I know Mom would never dream of actually using it. Mom is 86, so you can figure that some of that lace is probably close to 100 years old by now.
How lovely! I am returning to work on my crazy quilt. I am doing embroidery, lace, ribbon and family heirloom work on mine. Grandpa tatted then taught my mother to tat. Grandma did Crochet. I do tatting, Crochet, embroidery, beading and other hand work. I have been tossing it the project box small pieces I have found in sorting boxes of fabric work from my mother's house. Also small things I have made. Over the years these have been scattered and hard to find a piece when I want it. I decided not only will they add to my quilt but I will know right where they are. Then when I was sorting stuff from my mother in law's house I found lots from my husband's family. His mother crocheted and his grandmother tatted. His has told me fond memories he has of watching them sit and work together. I will put all of those onto another crazy for him. We have several small tables these can be used on. We were able to see a California visit a true Victorian crazy that his great aunt had made. We were able to take pictures of it.
Hi Arne and Carlos, love the lace crazy quilt, that is great no waste of fabrics, lace and even silk ribbons. Thank you guys for sharing and have a great week.
Ooooohhhh! The cream colored one you showed is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen! Great work! I have a collection of vintage linens and laces from Belgium. I want to make a quilt using all of them to preserve them all. You are an inspiration! Thank you!! By the way. My ancestors on my mother’s side come from Sweden. We are neighbors!
Just the best. Lace, lace and more lace. I buy everything in my local charity shops that are lace. Love sitting with you two guys whilst I am crocheting. I do quilt though too. So many wonderful fabricey crafts to do but not enough time lol xxx
If you learn Tatting you can make your own lace. Tatting is very easy to do and done with crochet twine and a 4 inch needle. Must warn you that it is very addictive. Look for "needle Tatting tutorial" videos on TH-cam.
Very inspiring. 2 years ago, my parents moved from the north woods retirement home of theirs into the city, into Assisted Living. I have my mother’s wedding gown. She no longer cares about it, but I can’t part with it. Carlos, you & Arne have given me such inspiring ideas for this heirloom! Lots of tulle, lace, and shiny satin! The gown is nearly 70 years old now, and I will be using it for memory projects for her granddaughters. Christmas balls from wedding gowns is a category on Pinterest. Maybe you 2 would want to try some as well! Your white, satin and lace layered patchwork is stunning!! I’m off to try my hand at it! Thank you again.
OMG You really have to try crazy quilting. So imaginative. Masculine or feminine. These guys are great. Just found them. Have subscribed. They have come the closest to what I am looking for. Thanks guys.
Just found your channel, you both do beautiful work. Thank you sharing your time with all of us. New Subscriber, I am new to lace embroidery on quilt squares. ❤
You inspired me. Yes, i want to run to my closet and start sewing at once - but i´m still at work. It´s so fun to watch you working. It takes time, but it´s never boring.
I love your creativity. You are so free and open with what you do and the way you put things together. I am gathering inspiration with every video. Thank you for sharing.
I look at you too in videos seemingly so relaxed and happy. And i wonder to myself if you guys ever get stressed about stuff like finances or your garden or anything really. The personalities you two project are just so easy going and smooth. Makes US relax when we watch and listen. Thank you. I need this today more than you will ever know.
How do you attach the backing fabric to the finished embellished front square to anchor them both together? Also do you not find that cutting into a line of some of the lace strips it leaves an edge that frays.
I have been wanting to learn HOW to quilt, and this is so easy!~ I've been saving all sorts of fabric for years! I used to make my girls Halloween costumes, and I STILL have left over material from those. . . (my girls now, are 41, and 38!) Thank you so much for your videos~ :)
thanks for your inspiration. I got a rather big stash of old handmade laces and now I know what to do with them. The only fear I have is washing it, once it's finished.
So good to see you, once again, working on these beautiful quilt pieces. Arne, the stitch is called a running stitch. Just in and out, as you march along. I love these ideas... even for a midi skirt... I know, a little boho, but I love it. Reminds me of the 70s. or even the 1890s. Imagine an A line skirt to the floor with a gathered bustle and big bow in the back. Might have to be on the lookout for some high button shoes... lol
Thanks for this video. These are great ideas. I make bobbin lace, but I don't always know what to do with it. There are only so many handkerchiefs and mats one can use. This type of tablecloth or bed covering is perfect. I can make small amounts of a wide variety of bobbin lace patterns, have fun doing it and use fabrics, beads and the lace to make larger items. I especially love the ivory colored patchwork you showed. How beautiful! I have some heirloom lace myself that is awaiting the right project. I have been afraid it would unravel if cut.
I really understand you saving your grandmother's handmade lace for something special. I have several pieces made by my great-grandmother, and I'm still looking for the exact project to use it on. I also have my grandmother's wedding dress, made in Paris and is made of alternating strips of fragile pale pink silk ribbon and lace. The dress is over 100 years old, and the silk is disintegrating in places. Maybe in another 100 years I'll be ready to just recycle the lace. Oh, wait.......
Hey guys! I just saw a video on a fabric Scandinavian Advent Star. Would you ever consider making a video showing how you guys would make one? Have I told you lately that I love you?😘
Hi Arne and Carlos loved you patchwork quilt squares have you every tried to hand embroidery on the squares . I make memory squares from old dresses. And add hand embroidery on the stitch lines and some time I add some bead work also .

You inspired me. Yes, i want to run to my closet and start sewing at once - but i´m still at work.
It´s so fun to watch you working. It takes time, but it´s never boring.
Thanks, good ideas!
You are welcome!
Ooops - saw the snow later in your video. You certainly have a beautiful stash of fabrics and lace. Lovely to have something your Grandmother made.
Loved so much watching this Beautiful work, you guys are amazing!
Thank you so much Effie!
Thank you for sharing and inspiring. I envy your creativity ( and your stash of fabrics ) ;)
Hi Marlene, we are quite ordinary guys!
Thanks so much, as always, for your amazing inspiration!!!
How do you attach the backing fabric to the finished embellished front square to anchor them both together? Also do you not find that cutting into a line of some of the lace strips it leaves an edge that frays.
OOhh, this has so many potential applications...bed spreads, pillows, vests, purses- la! the possibilities!
Precioso trabajo. Me encanta. Bellísimo. Your work is beautiful. I love it. I’m your fun.
Thank you!
You are welcome, this quilting method is alot of fun!
thanks for your inspiration. I got a rather big stash of old handmade laces and now I know what to do with them. The only fear I have is washing it, once it's finished.
The antique handmade lace is simply beautiful- a real pleasure to see.
So good to see you, once again, working on these beautiful quilt pieces. Arne, the stitch is called a running stitch. Just in and out, as you march along. Once again I really enjoyed this video. Beautiful.
That will be really fun!
You are so creative. 🥰
Thank you so much Bea!
wow its snowing there already. we in Canada will be getting snow soon, Well this was really inspirational I just got a new sewing machine for my birthday last week and I can't wait to look around and find some material , and i love thrift shops , so that's where I will looking . thanks guys
Gorgeous work!
Thank you Claudia!
So inspirational I need to look for fabrics in second hand shops
OMG you two are so relaxing to watch. Thank you again for another fantastic video xxx
Terrific video. I love crazy quilts, especially with lace. It is so nice to see that you do value special laces. Thanks for sharing. Take care.
I especially love the ivory colored patchwork you showed. How beautiful! I have some heirloom lace myself that is awaiting the right project. I have been afraid it would unravel if cut.
It is a good way to give them a second life.
I really understand you saving your grandmother's handmade lace for something special. I have several pieces made by my great-grandmother, and I'm still looking for the exact project to use it on. Hey guys! I just saw a video on a fabric Scandinavian Advent Star. Would you ever consider making a video showing how you guys would make one? Have I told you lately that I love you?😘
Hello
Great video. Hope you get offers for more wedding gowns.
Hi Arne and Carlos loved you patchwork quilt squares have you every tried to hand embroidery on the squares . I make memory squares from old dresses. And add hand embroidery on the stitch lines and some time I add some bead work also .
