Guten Tag, lieber Paul. Dieses Werk ist sehr schön anzuhören. Anfangs geradezu majestätisch bis heiter beschwingt. Das Largo z.B. ist das Gegenteil, eher traurig. So empfand ich es. Du aber hast wiedermal zauberhaft gespielt. Was soll ich sagen, eben professionell wie immer. Danke für die Aufführung! Ich wünsche Dir eine schöne Zeit und noch einen schönen Sonntag. Paul, good Sunday morning. When I was a lot younger, organ recitals where I grew up in Massachusetts were frequent and of admirable quality. Now retired in Arizona, organ recitals are very rare. We've lost something wonderful. As your compositions become known, I hope they find favor with recitalists and their audiences. Hey Massachusetts. I grew up Boston So Shore in the 50s-60s. There were always Sunday afternoon concerts listed in the Boston Globe. I had just gotten my driver's license and it opened up a whole new world for me.
When I was very young a relative took me to a concert at the Methuen concert hall. Before the concert they rolled out an old Victrola with a horn, and played a classic organ record to show off the acoustics.
Deep! I love the difference in feel between the different movements, even though there's a feeling of consistency throughout the piece!

I can't wait either . I wish I had studied the organ when I was much younger. I never thought of it and our church organ was a horrible electric one. That sounded terrible. If it had been a Johannes it would have been different. The uniting church in that town had a nice one.

I wish I had the artistic fortitude to come up with new music on a seemingly weekly basis like you do. You have a very impressive oeuvre for a young person, and I hate to admit it I am a bit jealous. Of your recent compositions this one is probably my favourite, it has a good level of contrast of mood/tone between the movements and progresses in a very logical and satisfying pattern.

This new concerto is an amazing achievement for you, Paul. It has so much energy and movement throughout. First and last movements are very powerful. The second movement has such a wonderful meditative melody and harmonies. The third movement is so spritely and my favorite.. A very well designed composition with energy and contrasting material. The video segments during the second movement seemed very appropriate. You have created a work that will become a favorite among organists. Paul, that was wonderful! You have such a spectacular talent for performance and composition! I think my favorite movement is the Largo. It was so moving and touching, and the video imagery accompanying it was spot on!
Watching you perform is a delight. You are a very expressive player, and the stocking feet are hysterical! All organists should wear them! (I heard that Virgil Fox had sequins on his pedaling shoes - but never socks!). I think Richard McVeigh plays in socks too. But not Virgil Fox. It wouldn't go with his tuxedo.
