Back to Bach! And this has everything -a beautiful slowly evolving first section full of beautiful harmonies then a sprightly contrast before a return to solemnity and beauty then finally it`s almost the version we all sing (in my case as rhe school hymn! ) Basch would surely have admired this. Am now going to replay it! Many thanks

This weekend was perfect for listening to fine organ music. I just watched this video on Sunday, and on Saturday had listened to an organ concert from the U.K. (Bach played by yourself, and Handel by Johnathan Scott ruled). From Chicago, U.S.A.

What an interesting approach to variations on this tune: I was surprised with how gently it started and how reflective it remained until the last variation; I think most of us would anticipate a powerful opening with almost full organ; with a range of variations culminating in a grand finale; your approach feels very reflective with a movement toward a triumphant conclusion. A unique and reflective approach. It reminds me of Virgil Fox’s approach to Come Sweet Death. Though not a set of variations, he managed to capture a full range of emotion with dramatic use of registration ranging from the tender to the powerful and back again. If you are not familiar with this it is published with registration suggestions, and he recorded it himself. I’m sure it’s still available in printed form, and I believe there are likely some of his performances of the piece on U tube. Your arrangement of the variations here reminds me of the kind of classic and surprising presentation Virgil was always doing. Very well done. Thank you.

This is another great fantasie in the Dutch style. The slow movements display emotion and the faster movements have energy and strength. I especially love the second section with the tune in the pedal.. and the fourth movement with energy and rapid rhythm. A great composition. I love it, Paul. Thanks.

Der Notensatz erinnert mich ein wenig an die Interpretationen vom niederländischen Organist und Komponist Feike Asma, den der ebenfalls sehr talentierte niederländische Organist Gert van Hoef häufig als Thema verwendet. Heel erg mooi Paul! You kept me waiting quite a while before the upbeat section of the fantastia started! 😉 You definitely must have been inspired by this stunnig Hinsz organ, as the composition seems to convey. The Dutch Koraalkunst style is very much present with just enough Fey-isms to make it your own! Bravo! 👏 Kudos to the sound and recording engineers at Sweelinq for bring this organ back to life on virtual organs! It sounds amazing! 👌

2.40 in was very very very slow suddenly a big tempo change
so confused by this arrangement it `s like someone dropped your sheet music and put on the organ in the wrong order although somewhat befuddled i listened until the anthemic end ,the first piece you have played that makes me think what is this also i do not know the tune
