Personal ranking after 500+ hours 1. Bounty hunter, fun gameplay + you earn gold 2. Collector, gameplay can be boring but also enjoyable if you want to chill + very good payout 3. Moonshiner, almost completely passive and still decent payout, mission get repetetive though 4. Trader, good payout, however a lot of effort for materials + you have to deal with harriot for legendary animals 5. Naturalist, awful payouts, boring missions, pain to level up, after leveling up to 20 for horse i only use for trader role

Even after hundreds - if not thousands - of hours. Any excuse to get out there and do that is perfect for me. And I'd actually put moonshiner at the bottom. The moonshiner story missions were great, but I wasn't really bothered about replaying them, and the core gameplay of waiting for a batch to brew and then (slowly) delivering it got boring to me very quickly. At least with naturalist I get the field guide to fill out. It's a bit like filling out the compendium in single player, which I always enjoy.
You really don't have to go slow delivering moonshine, just stay on the road. If it's foggy and can't see the road, or going through a real narrow spot just aim your gun and the horses will drive perfectly. Ever seen those npc's slowly prancing their horse in front of you going from one side of the road to the other trying to slow you down? If they don't get out of my way, I plow right over them and their horses full speed and it doesn't harm your moonshine jugs at all, the first time I thought all the jugs would break lol but as long as you stay on the road it's good, I've ran over 3 and their horses at once before, no jugs lost.
@@lonestarbuckeye6889 Yeah, that's a fair point. Though actually, going slow isn't a problem for me anyway, because I'm much more about the journey than the destination. Most of the time, wherever I'm going and whatever I'm doing, I barely move faster than the npc riders you pass on the roads. Ultimately, I find it just boils down to a less fun version of a trader delivery.

I get most of my money from the Etta Doyle (Glitch) and collector. Haven’t really done much with the moonshine since I’m still trying to figure out how to make flavored shine.
For each flavor you just need to have the 3 items in your satchel, each flavor tells you what the 3 items are. The one I always make (because there's always a buyer) is berry cobbler, you need to have rasberries, peaches and a can of peaches, you have to pick the rasberries, the other 2 can be bought from the catalog.
Before RDO I played a lot of GTA Online with friends and because of that I have a hatred for the "drive a vehicle from A to B" kind of missions. When it's a trader event month I will do exact one delivery, resupply the camp and afterwards ignore it again. With moonshine I completely stopped to bother. That stuff was produced so my bar wouldn't just give out cheap booze. Overall Bounty Hunter is my favorite role because it gives you something hunt 😁
I went from level 30 to 200 just by grinding collections this past month. I’m sitting on a pretty nice chunk of change and a healthy amount of gold bars just from keeping my streak up
@@rasheedahmuhammad1394yup. Going from low level to 150-250 is VERY doable during collector month. Leveling up is far more difficult at higher levels. I haven’t been doing a heavy grind, and I still went from 499 to 535.
Great role guide, but I think many players in both RDO and GtaOnline focus too much on ‘grinding’ and min-maxing how to earn money & XP… rather than just playing to enjoy the game. I typically just play what strikes me at the moment, but often collect items for collector role along the way. I have more money and gold than I can even spend. And typically participate in whatever modes are offering bonuses during monthly events. Hunting live player bounties is my favorite activity!
My only "problem" with Collector role is I start out collecting... then a little hunting... a stranger mission or two... a resupply mission.... what was I dojng again?? roflmao xD
Wilderness camp fast travel and the Gypsy Cob are the only reasons I wouldn't want them to delete the Naturalist role. Those two alone make Harriet's psychotic behavior worth enduring.
Is it just me or they patched the trader sale glitch which allows you to get your goods back by finding a new session when you accidentally crashed your delivery wagon
The wilderness camp allows fast travel O_O? Seriously ? ...I bought it and didn't even notice it. I don't seem to have seen the option proposed when I set up this camp... Personally, I quickly ranked up this role and closed the aligator samples in bayou nwa. This role is also interesting for legendary animals... but that's it. I regret one thing: that there is no way to use the anesthetic ammunition to put Harriet to sleep >_
@@BuNa-X71 if your after gold, you only have a few choices…..daily challenges, certain freeroam events and bounty hunting……I seriously advise you to completely mix it up and not do the same missions over and over
Just depends on what you enjoy, I think the best ones are trader & moonshiner, but I enjoy trying to do as many of the daily challenges as I can, on the third and forth week can usually get 3-5 gold bars a day. I already bought everything I wanted and still have 860 gold & $400K but doing the dailies gives me a variety of all the roles plus more
There is so little content in rdr2 that 2x money on collector isnt good, ive earned all the money and now i got nothing to buy so the game is just boring

This is why i dont like Rockstar made online games, all these roles are just businesses that you gotta manage I didnt get red dead redemption to try and become Mr Cornwall here, i got it to be a poor outlaw robbin shit to get some money for ammunition to fight off the incoming law attack or something
