I’m a Protestant and have been praying about becoming Catholic. But, I’ve been doing a lot of research. These videos have been very helpful. My wife is Catholic.
Wouldn't it make more sense to ask God to lead you to where you need to be to glorify and honour Him rather than you choosing a religion you don't know is right and pray about that? If you pray to God to lead you to His truth and to give you the faith you need for your salvation so that you worship Him in spirit and in truth, He will guide you through His written word, rather than you doing your own research and making a foolish decision against God's will, and for your damnation instead of salvation.
@@gerardine9675 I am a born again Christian, so I know I’m going to heaven. Therefore, there is no decision whether I choose to remain Protestant or become Catholic, that is going to “damn my soul.” There are over 45,000 Christian denominations in the world. So, which one would you say is most scripturally accurate and why? What would make you so certain of your decision? Wouldn’t it “make more sense” for a fellow Christian to pray for a person who is prayerfully considering such a decision than to make a condescending remark to them that might even drive them further away?
Beautiful sharing brother in Christ. Before I got married I was a protestant. But when I went for training as nurse I have a lot of Catholic friends and I used to follow them to the Catholic church. I asked God.... lord which is the true church. I want to follow the true church....Two years after I completed my training I decided to get married . Again I asked God.... which is the true church and true Man to become my husband. Then a man from the Catholic church came to me and wanted to marry me. So I said if it is a true Man and true church I will marry him. It is your will lord and I surrender all into your mighty hands. A few years after a lady gave me a pamphlet. Inside was written.... Catholic church is the true church. I feel so happy and praise God. I have three children. Now I am already 60 and I allowed God to use me as his instrument. I'm a Sunday school teacher, natural family planning teacher, holy communion minister in the church and a leader in our homecell St Michael group. Amen 🙏

@@bornagain9192 Why? Because is the only church that Jesus Christ founded. Matthew - KJV 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Why because that church has the keys to enter heaven. Matthew - KJV 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. It has AUTHORITY. WHY? Because before 1517 there were only two Christian churches, the Catholic church and Orthodox church, and orthodox got separated from the Catholic church in 1054, because they didn't agree with Jesus who called Peter to be in charge of his church. Catholic Bible. John 21:15-17 [15]When they had eaten, Jesus said to Simon Peter, 'Simon son of John, do you love me more than these others do?' He answered, 'Yes, Lord, you know I love you.' Jesus said to him, 'Feed my lambs.' [16]A second time he said to him, 'Simon son of John, do you love me?' He replied, 'Yes, Lord, you know I love you.' Jesus said to him, 'Look after my sheep.' [17]Then he said to him a third time, 'Simon son of John, do you love me?' Peter was hurt that he asked him a third time, 'Do you love me?' and said, 'Lord, you know everything; you know I love you.' Jesus said to him, 'Feed my sheep. You see three times Jesus said my, my, my. Anyone that dosen't belong to Jesus church, is not Jesus's sheep. They belong to the one who founded that church. Catholic Bible. John 10:1-5,7,16 [1]'In all truth I tell you, anyone who does not enter the sheepfold through the gate, but climbs in some other way, is a thief and a bandit. [2]He who enters through the gate is the shepherd of the flock; [3]the gatekeeper lets him in, the sheep hear his voice, one by one he calls his own sheep and leads them out. [4]When he has brought out all those that are his, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow because they know his voice. [5]They will never follow a stranger, but will run away from him because they do not recognise the voice of strangers.' [7]So Jesus spoke to them again: In all truth I tell you, I am the gate of the sheepfold. [16]And there are other sheep I have that are not of this fold, and I must lead these too. They too will listen to my voice, and there will be only one flock, one shepherd. Does Jesus likes DIVICIONS? WHY YOU GUYS DON'T BELIEVE ON THE ONLY CHURCH THAT HE FOUNDED?

@@gregoryt8792 Tons of data but sort of a shotgun. What are you saying exactly? Here is something for you: St. Ignatius of Antioch [Made bishop by St. Peter himself ]documents circa AD100 in letter to the Smyrnaeans Chap 7: Let us stand aloof from such heretics They abstain from the Eucharist and from prayer, because they confess not the Eucharist to be the flesh of our Saviour Jesus Christ, which suffered for our sins, and which the Father, of His goodness, raised up again. Those, therefore, who speak against this gift of God, incur death in the midst of their disputes. But it were better for them to treat it with respect, that they also might rise again. It is fitting, therefore, that you should keep aloof from such persons, and not to speak of them either in private or in public, but to give heed to the prophets, and above all, to the Gospel [i.e. oral tradition because the bible had not been put together yet], in which the passion [of Christ] has been revealed to us, and the resurrection has been fully proved. Scripture says: Luke 1:28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. That's basically the Hail Mary. Matthew 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. That, of course, is the Our Father. As for Purgatory, it is explained here: 1 Corinthians 3:10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. 11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. It isn't therein named, but it is described.

@@samuelwilliams1559 The Word "Catholic" In The Bible. We often encountered this remark from anti-Catholics, "Catholic is nowhere to be found in the Bible!" They have to bear in mind that Christ came and created One Church, not multiple churches with contrasting beliefs. "You are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church." (Matthew 16:18-19). This verse applies only to one Church pointing to Catholicism not thousands of denominations founded by men. Historical and biblical proofs can attest to this. Acts 9:31 (Greek Bible), "ai men oun Ekklesia Kath'oles tēs ioudaias kai galilaias kai samareias eichon eirēnēn oikodomoumenai kai poreuomenai tō phobō tou kuriou kai tē paraklēsei tou agiou pneumatos eplēthunonto" Because of the heretics of the early centuries of Christianity, the word "Catholic" came up; to have a distinction to others who claimed to be Christians but differ in the beliefs of the Church Fathers and the Church. In the first century we find local stability in the Antiocene community of St Ignatius: 'Wheresoever the bishop appears, there let the people be, even as wheresoever Christ Jesus is, there is the Catholic Church-'ubi Episcopus, ibi Ecclesia'." But before St. Ignatius came into the scene, St. Evodius, was the first bishop of Antioch. Evodius was one of the 72 disciples of Christ, and Catholic tradition has always held that he was the first bishop of Antioch after St. Peter, and the first to coin the word “Christian” to refer to the disciples of Jesus. He probably died between the years 64-67, when he was then succeeded by St. Ignatius of Antioch. St. Pacianus, bishop of Barcelona said this to have distinction from other heretical sects who claimed to be Christians in the 4th century. "Christian is my name, and Catholic my surname. The one designates me, while the other makes me specific. Thus am I attested and set apart. When we are called Catholics it is by this appellation that our people are kept apart from any heretical name." -Letter to Sympronian, 375 A.D. Romans 1:8 stated: "First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is proclaimed in all the world." In Greek Bible: "He pistis humon Katengeletai en holo to cosmo." (Roma 1:8). He pistis humon - your faith Katengeletai - is proclaimed En holo to cosmo - in all the world Katholos - according to the whole . KaTangeletai ( καταγγέλλεται ) is being proclaimed, en(ν) in HOLOὅ(λ) all tō(τ) the kosmō (κόσμ) world. The name, "Catholic Church" didn't derive from English, it came from the Greek. The term katholikos is equivalent to καθόλου (katholou), a contraction of the phrase καθ' ὅλου (kath' holou) meaning "according to the whole". Thus the full name Catholic Church roughly means "universal" or "whole" church. There are more biblical proofs showing the word Catholic: Luke 4:14 "Ho Galalaia kai pheme exerchatomai Kath’oles." Luke 8:39 "Apelthen Kath’oles ten polin..." Luke 23:5 "Anaseis ton laos didasko Kath’oles." Acts 9:41 "Gnotos de egeneto Kath’oles.” Acts 10:32 "Hemeis oidate ho genomenon rhema Kath'oles." Acts 4:18 "Kai kelasantes autos pareggeilan to Kath'olou..." Matthew 28:19-20 is a statement of Universality, Katholicos, Catholicus, Catholic: "Go, therefore and make disciples of all nations...teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; And behold, I am with you all days, even unto the consummation of the world." The name of our church is "Ekklesia Katholes" which literally means, "The Church throughout" or "The Universal Church" which comes up with the Catholic Church. The reason why it is called Roman is because it was in Rome that the faith of Ekklesia Katholes spread. Here's proof from the book of Acts: Acts 23:11, "The Lord stood near Paul and said, 'Don't be afraid! You have given your testimony about Me here in Jerusalem, now you must do the same in Rome.” St. Hermas, St. Linus, and St. Clement were a solid and unequivocal evidences that the Apostles and first Christians were traditionally, historically, and biblically Catholics. Hermas the author of the apocalyptic Christian treatise Shepherd of Hermas dated back late first century to mid-2nd century, was the follower of St. Paul the Apostle and brother of Pope Pius I who ruled the Catholic Church from 140 to 155AD. According to the early Christian tradition and early Christian theologians, chroniclers and writers like Origen of Alexandria (240AD), St. Heggesipus (110-180AD¬), and Eusebius of Ceasaria (265-340AD),¬ Hermas the brother of Pope Pius I was the same Hermas who made mention by St. Paul in his letter to the Romans 16:14. St. Linus of Rome the successor to St. Peter as the Pope of the Roman Church from 67 to 76 AD was among the 72 disciples of Jesus Christ (Luke 10:17), and one of the fellow workers of Christ made mention by St. Paul in his second epistle to St. Timothy (2 Timothy 4:21).
When I was in 4th-5th grade my parents sent me to some Evangelical school. As a Catholic it was the worst two years of my life as 1/2 the teachings from the actual teachers were anti-Catholic. My parents were from Canada so did not understand the concept of Catholic hate that was in the Bible-belt. I’m unsure how I even got in to that school certainly on some paperwork my parents had noted I was Catholic. But just imagine being that age, going to CCD on Sunday, and then the rest of the week all you heard were Catholic jokes and the teachers bashing Catholicism. In hindsight it made me embrace Catholicism more as I’d never heard a Catholic “bash” another religion.
Yes, this is what baffles me-that there is such a deep deep violent and very open, vocal hatred of catholicism. The atrocities that the church and catholics did were of the long ago past. The present is full of persecution of catholics who had been making amends and just living up to the faith. We dont bash them. We dont intrude in their discussions and bash them.we dont coerce them to believe us. We allow them their beliefs. They dont have the civility, maturity and good manners to respect our faith.
Watched this again Brother Patrick. Thank you always! It is because of people like you I am a catechist right now. Gid bless you and your family. Love you brother!
Hi. It sounds like your are really pumped up about your faith. However, my concern about Catholicism is that they preach a different gospel than what the Bible teaches. For example, Catholics believe that, in order to be saved, a person must be baptized and take communion in the Catholic Church church. They also teach that a person cannot know what their standing with God is until they stand before Him in judgment. How can you live in such insecurity? Yet, I know that I am saved. For example, I was raised by my atheist father and I did not hear the gospel until I was 17. Shortly thereafter, I walked onto the lawn of the church one night and, looking up at the cross on a steeple, asked God, "Do you want us to honor the cross?" Then I prayed, "Is there Jesus? I would like to meet Him!" I extended my hands forward. I saw the Lord descend the last couple of feet to the earth, a white silhouette. I could see the outline of His robe. He took a step and took my hands. Instantly, I felt heaven all over and it felt like my heart was made out of gold. I walked away thinking, "That was heaven, but I am on earth. What is heaven doing on earth?" At the time, I had not read a Bible, so did not know Ephesians 1.14, that the Holy Spirit is our 'down payment,' our assurance of salvation or that, "The Holy Spirit bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God" (Romans 8.16). Since that night in the Spring of 1977, I can honestly say that I have not had even one second of doubt that I know Christ and am bound for heaven - not even for a second! I have what is called 'absolute assurance.' Yet, I am not presuming I am saved, but I know it because of my close friendship with the Holy Spirit. Sadly, Catholics believe a different gospel. For example, Paul wrote, "Whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord SHALL be saved," but Catholics preach that, "Whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord, is baptized Catholic, and partakes of Catholic baptism MIGHT be saved." Remember Paul's warning, "Whoever preaches a different gospel, let him be accursed." May you be filled and have total confidence in your eternal destiny through a close friendship with Christ! Jesus Christ is the light of the world.
@@kenshiloh because that is the mandate of Jesus before He ascended. He commanded the apostles to teach everything He taught them and baptize them. Who are the apostles? You may ask? They are the original Catholic church, group called The Way, in Acts. World history and church history will lead you to it.
@@gracianomendoza8671 Hi. Of course we should obey the Lord and be baptized. Yet, do not confuse Catholic teachings with the Bible! Paul wrote, "Whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved." Are you saying that Paul is wrong? Do you need to do more than that to be saved? Is your gospel, "Whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord and is baptised might be saved"? Again, a warning from Scripture: Paul wrote, "Whoever preaches a different gospel, let him be accursed." Do not deceive yourself. Salvation is simply knowing God and you meet God simply by asking. Do you disagree? Christ said, "This is eternal life, that you know God and Jesus Christ Whom He has sent." He also said, "My Father will give the Holy Spirit to whoever asks of Him." Baptism is simply an outward acknowledgment of an inner commitment. I was saved when I called upon the Name of the Lord. My faith is Biblical, but you contradict the Word of God. I hope and pray that you will get to know Christ - just by asking! Jesus Christ is the light of the world.
@@kenshiloh i would like to make clear to you that St. Paul is a Catholic. How can his teaching contradict his church’s teaching, unless he has turned out to be heretic which he never was. You are just making assumptions based on your biases. Be a Catholic first then you’ll understand.
@@kenshiloh you are just talking in circles. Like 1+2=3, 2+1=3, the same thing. Baptism is the gateway by which you gain access to everything, all the nooks and crannies of the Catholic faith. It is only by being immersed in it that you get to grasp the reason and logic of its teachings. You can never know it looking in a window from afar.
Thank you. I’m a catholic and also have been questioned my faith by Jehovah witness and comments by Protestant. I loved it because it made me go to the Bible and search. Now I listen to apologist and love what I learn. Thank you

For example, Paul wrote, "Whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord SHALL be saved," but Catholics preach that, "Whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord, is baptized Catholic, and partakes of Catholic baptism MIGHT be saved." @@therese6447 Hi. Thank you for your reply. Let's suppose that you are right: you cannot be saved unless you partake of communion and are baptized. What, then, will you do with the gospel? That is, Paul wrote, "Whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10.13)." Is that true or do I need to be baptized to be saved? Jesus said, "My Father will give the Holy Spirit to whoever asks of Him (Luke 11.13)." Is that true or do I need to receive communion to be filled with the Holy Spirit? The beauty of the gospel is that we can meet Christ. His blood shed on the Cross makes it possible for sinful people to know Him - just by asking! Yet, woe to those who distort the pure gospel! Paul wrote, "Whoever preaches a different gospel, let him be accursed." Forget what they tell you about sola scriptura! If you have different gospel than Paul's, you are in big trouble with God! True or false: Whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved? Your eternal destination rests in your answer to that question - and if you call upon Christ. Jesus Christ is the light of the world.
Protestants just pick and choose what is convenient. One have to observe and do EVERYTHING Jesus told us to do. Follow the Authority of the church to interpret the Bible.
@@kenshilohI thank God for the grace of that experience of Him you had that night. In regards to your question about salvation, remember St. Paul said to "work out your own salvation with fear and trembling" (Phil 2:12). In Catholicism we have a kind saying,.. we are saved, we are being saved, and we will be saved. One cool thing is that in the Sacrament of Confession, when the priest pronounces the words of absolution, we can know for certain we are forgiven. The question people need to ask is will being a Catholic get me to heaven. Or a Baptist Presbyterian or whatever. There are professing believers in both camps that are as lost as an Hogan's goat they don't have the indwelling spirit. A Baptist preacher was recently fired for sexual affair. He had led that congregation 20 years. Upon his dismissal he told the congregation that he never Reilly believed the gospel anyway. My sheep bear my voice. Do you hear him.
Very misleading title. I thought he was going to offer apologetics that made a case for Catholicism, not about his own personal journey as an apologist for the faith.
We all have our different experiences....I went to to Mass for years ..yet was never taught the bible A to Z or how to "know" my saviour in a 1 to 1 relationship as John 17:3...says...the substance for those saved of having eternal life is to KNOW Jesus... Remember what he will say to many in the end for not knowing or walking daily, with him...endeavouring to live for him. I had to go to a bible saturated Church, different to how mass is run Yet....I will still not say that no Catholics are saved because of my disillusionment with mass?...no I'm sure many of them love Jesus ...are saved...yet I would advocate its not because of the practice itself but because God sees the heart... Salvation is a gift whatever denomination or Church label. I encourage everyone to go deep with Christ in his word...as he reveals himself to those truly seeking to know him...All glory to Him I've had this experience both spiritually and intellectually Satan makes his home within Church division and the lies of partial truths, twisting God's word as he tried to tempt our Lord in the desert. Those in unbelief he doesn't have to worry about as much as they're on the wrong road by themselves. Note the texts about knowing Christ and the person of the holy spirit who empowers us to good works ..we CANNOT keep his commandments without the spirits help nor can he reveal himself to be a light onto others outside of relationship with him Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.” John 14:21 But when the Father sends the helper, the Holy spirit as my representative-he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you. “I am leaving you with a gift-peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. John 14:26-27
This is why I always tell my kids, converts make better Catholics. As much as I try to teach them about our faith, they will never understand, they take all our treasures for granted
Momma Jim There is only one kind of genuine conversion, from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of Light. Jesus said that unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God (see John 3:3). If a person has already put his/her faith in Christ, but moves from one denomination to another, it is NOT conversion. It is more like switching teams in a football league, or switching political parties. It is ONLY conversion if the person has NEVER repented of his/her sins before, or received Jesus: (John 1:12-13) 'But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.' What is a good, better, or worse Catholic? Jesus said that no one is good but God. He once began addressing a crowd by saying, 'if you, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children.............' NOWHERE in the Bible does it say that Catholicism can save anyone. For Peter was speaking of JESUS when He said: (Acts 4:12) 'And there is salvation in NO ONE ELSE; for there is NO OTHER NAME under heaven that has been given among men by which be must be saved.'

Thank you for your sharing Bro Patrick, may you continue to inspire people to be sronger in their faith as well as be able to share Jesus's Love for us.
Hi. Does Bro Patrick share the love of Christ with others? My concern about Catholicism is that they preach a different gospel than what the Bible teaches.
@@kenshiloh Check out book Pope Peter by Joe Heschmeyer. If papacy is true, we should all be Catholic. Papacy is true, we should all be Catholic. Jesus started Catholic church.
@@johnyang1420 Hi John. If the papacy is true, we should all be Catholics? Remember the words of the Apostle Paul that, even if he, Paul, should preach a different gospel, he should be accursed - how much more the Catholic church? I encourage you not to blindly trust in fallible, sinful people, but in the Holy Spirit to lead and guide you. Moreover, why is apostolic succession important? For example, Paul is not of the apostolic line, as the other apostles never laid hands on him to 'pass the torch.' What about all the churches that Paul started? What about the church at Corinth or Ephesus? Why is the Catholic church the only 'valid' church, as if Paul never existed? Finally, my most important point is, how does a person gain salvation? Paul wrote, "Whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10.13)." Yet, Catholics say that you must be baptized and partake of communion to be saved. Moreover, even if you have Bible verses that 'prove' baptism is necessary, doesn't that make Paul a liar, as he said, "Whoever calls...". He did not say, "Calls and is baptized...". You are raking God's ire by preaching different gospel. If our eyes meet on judgment day, you can't say that I did not do my best to warn you! I hope that you will get to know Christ - just by asking! Jesus Christ is the light of the world.
Why I will never be Catholic... This false church would never allow me to obey Jesus's clear command to drink his blood...duh. Matthew 26:26-29 Mark 14:22-26 Luke 22:14-23
Why? Because Catholicism accepts, and supports the broadest range of spiritualities of any Christian denomination. Every time there is a "holiness" movement in a Protestant church, the organization tells them to go away.

He says Mary was sinless (as does the Catholic faith. Did Paul lie when he said in Romans 3:23 23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.”?
Here is the definition of the immaculate conception. The Definition Wherefore, in humility and fasting, we unceasingly offered our private prayers as well as the public prayers of the Church to God the Father through his Son, that he would deign to direct and strengthen our mind by the power of the Holy Spirit. In like manner did we implore the help of the entire heavenly host as we ardently invoked the Paraclete. Accordingly, by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, for the honor of the Holy and undivided Trinity, for the glory and adornment of the Virgin Mother of God, for the exaltation of the Catholic Faith, and for the furtherance of the Catholic religion, by the authority of Jesus Christ our Lord, of the Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul, and by our own: “We declare, pronounce, and define that the doctrine which holds that the most Blessed Virgin Mary, in the first instance of her conception, by a singular grace and privilege granted by Almighty God, in view of the merits of Jesus Christ, the Savior of the human race, was preserved free from all stain of original sin, is a doctrine revealed by God and therefore to be believed firmly and constantly by all the faithful.”
Paul was referring to the jews and gentiles that they are all of the same in sinning and needing to believe in Jesus. Paul ins't talking about the generality of everyone but only everyone in the group he is referring to.
Thank you for your response. Your comment inspired me to ask the following question “What other groups of people could have been referred to in Paul’s day by Paul?” Could you elaborate? Thanks!
Yes sinless. As was the belief of the Reformers. Martin Luther (founder of the reform), speaks on Mary There can be no doubt that the Virgin Mary is in heaven. How it happened we do not know. And since the Holy Spirit has told us nothing about it, we can make of it no article of faith . . . It is enough to know that she lives in Christ. (Sermon of August 15, 1522, the last time Martin Luther preached on the Feast of the Assumption) The veneration of Mary is inscribed in the very depths of the human heart. (Sermon, September 1, 1522) [She is the] highest woman and the noblest gem in Christianity after Christ . . . She is nobility, wisdom, and holiness personified. We can never honor her enough. Still honor and praise must be given to her in such a way as to injure neither Christ nor the Scriptures. (Sermon, Christmas, 1531) No woman is like you. You are more than Eve or Sarah, blessed above all nobility, wisdom, and sanctity. (Sermon, Feast of the Visitation, 1537) One should honor Mary as she herself wished and as she expressed it in the Magnificat. She praised God for his deeds. How then can we praise her? The true honor of Mary is the honor of God, the praise of God's grace . . . Mary is nothing for the sake of herself, but for the sake of Christ . . . Mary does not wish that we come to her, but through her to God. (Explanation of the Magnificat, 1521) Luther gives the Blessed Virgin the exalted position of "Spiritual Mother" for Christians: It is the consolation and the superabundant goodness of God, that man is able to exult in such a treasure. Mary is his true Mother .. (Sermon, Christmas, 1522) Mary is the Mother of Jesus and the Mother of all of us even though it was Christ alone who reposed on her knees . . . If he is ours, we ought to be in his situation; there where he is, we ought also to be and all that he has ought to be ours, and his mother is also our mother. (Sermon, Christmas, 1529) It is a sweet and pious belief that the infusion of Mary's soul was effected without original sin; so that in the very infusion of her soul she was also purified from original sin and adorned with God's gifts, receiving a pure soul infused by God; thus from the first moment she began to live she was free from all sin" (Sermon: "On the Day of the Conception of the Mother of God," 1527) She is full of grace, proclaimed to be entirely without sin- something exceedingly great. For God's grace fills her with everything good and makes her devoid of all evil. (Personal {"Little"} Prayer Book,

I find it absolutely fascinating... the exact same arguments you have for being catholic are the same arguments I hear from members of my own church for why we are Christians and everyone else is wrong for some reason or another....
@@vasilias2230 The same could be said about my own church. I think the important thing to realize is most Christian faiths point towards Jesus. The first principles and ordinances of any Christian church are Faith in Jesus Christ, Repentance, Baptism, Receiving the holy spirit, and Enduring in the faith until the end of our lives. Now, the finer details of that can be debated until the sun goes down, but the basics are all the same. If your church teaches you to form your own relationship with God the Father and his only-begotten son, then how can anyone fault it?
@@TheBeardedSandman You said to @Vasilias The same could be said about my own church. DM-So you think that the doctrines of your church are perfect? Will-I think the important thing to realize is most Christian faiths point towards Jesus. DM-I don't agree. There's a sleight of hand going on with the teachings of Scripture alone and faith alone. Here's what I see. Since you can decide for yourself what Scripture says, you are not relying upon God, but upon yourself. And since you can decide that you have enough faith to declare yourself saved, you are not relying upon a hope in God's love and mercy, but again about a personal affection and pride for your own ability. Therefore, Protestant religions do not point to God, nor to Christ, but to themselves. Will-The first principles and ordinances of any Christian church are Faith in Jesus Christ, Repentance, Baptism, Receiving the holy spirit, and Enduring in the faith until the end of our lives. DM-To which denomination do you adhere? Because all the one's I've spoken to in the past consider their first and foremost principle the right to decide for themselves what is taught in Scripture. Will-Now, the finer details of that can be debated until the sun goes down, but the basics are all the same. DM-You've written a list of things that you consider the principles. But I doubt that you can get a consensus of those principles in the Protestant community. For example: Since Protestants adhere to the idea of justification by faith alone, I doubt that most would consider the ideas of repentance and baptism as basics of Christianity. Will- If your church teaches you to form your own relationship with God the Father and his only-begotten son, then how can anyone fault it? DM-If by that you mean that one can claim a relationship with the Father and the Son and then declare himself saved by his faith alone, I can fault it by the very Teachings of Scripture that they contradict. John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. 24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.
I have found that most of the time, the very passage a Protestant is using to question my faith typically has the answer either a few sentences (or maybe chapters) later....most of the time the same book though. Protestants are like the kings of one-liners...they know an exact passage, one line of scripture and where it is located (Catholics are bad at this typically). However, Protestants usually do not know the overall theme or context of the chapter or book they are citing. Here's one very popular example- take Romans...they LOVE citing Romans 3:28 "For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from works of the Law." And most of the time they won't even finish the sentence and leave "....OF THE LAW" out. Which is important. Which Law? Why is Law capitalized? What is the context of what's being said? They typically have no idea. The entire Romans, in general, is St. Paul speaking to Jews and Gentiles (not the reader directly), and he is essentially saying that Gentiles should accept Jews and Jews-Gentiles. Gentiles do not need to follow the OLD LAW (Law of Moses), because there is a new covenant and their salvation (and Jews as well) has come in the form of the Jesus dying for their sins. ALL are welcome, not just Jews. But going forward, you are expected to DO things as Jesus taught. All of this can be found later in Romans between 13-15. This is why Protestants struggle to find an answer to James 2- James 2 is SPECIFICALLY talking to CHRISITANS in the early churches, not those looking to convert who are bringing old beliefs (old covenant) along with them like Romans or Ephesians. Then there's Matthew 16:27. When you start pointing all of this out, typically a Protestant will get angry (and I don't understand this reaction). Moral of the story- when they start reading you one line from the Bible, my answer is usually "just keep reading".
Jesus said very sternly, that do not judge...But a group of Catholics like Martin Luther, Kalvin etc judged Catholic order like Pope and the leaders of the church instead of praying for them. They judged that Catholics, that they are doing everything wrong, specially the leadership and the teachings. So they decided to part ways and created a cult group called Protestants taking all the right things and omitting all wrongs as they conveniently believed. Within a few years they judged each other and split into more cult groups...And again judged...again split...it continues and reached to almost 35000 or more cult groups today. And it keep increasing day by day. And since they are parted from the Original Catholic church and gone away, they have ceased all the rights to be called Christians. Catholics are the original Church formed by Christ and all others who broke away have no right to be called Christians. And the worst thing is that they never love the word of god but just use the word of god to poke catholic. They learn the bible with only this in mind how to argue and win. Very unfortunate. Pray for them.
nice story Simon. based on what? 35000 splits of which I can go to most any of them and feel quite comfortable. Study your own divisions, there are many. Think of our many "divisions" as house churches. That is how the original church operated, and still does in some countries. i am willing to debate with you anytime upon my "love for the word of God" How many books of the bible have you read and prayed through so far this year? What is your relationship with our Father? My bible says a christian is a follower of Christ, one who believes that he died for my sins and was raised on the third day.1 cor.15:1-4 “Just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body” (1 Cor 12.12-13). It’s called the Church. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life..not an establishment. 1 Corinthians 6:2-3 ESV Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is to be judged by you, are you incompetent to try trivial cases? Do you not know that we are to judge angels? How much more, then, matters pertaining to this life! Mattew 18: 15If your brother sins against you, go and confront him privately. If he ... And if he refuses to listen Leviticus 19:15 ESV “You shall do no injustice in court. You shall not be partial to the poor or defer to the great, but in righteousness shall you judge your neighbor. .Romans 16:17-18 ESV I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles (so we are all guilty) matt,7 first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye. I do agree on one account..."Pray for them"
Simon Poulose Did you know Luther intimately? Are you SURE that he never prayed for the so-called 'pope' at that time? Luther was zealous even for the conversion of Turks and Jews, and he reached out to Orthodox in an effort toward common understanding; why should he not be concerned for the spiritual welfare of Catholics also? Are you not assuming things about him which you cannot prove? Besides, 'not judging' does not imply lack of moral or spiritual discrimination. If Rome was selling indulgences, that had to be 'called out'. Do you suppose that in our day, clerical sexual abuse should be allowed to go unchecked, for fear of 'judging' those responsible? You say that you are the 'original Church'. The Orthodox say the same thing. Go duke it out among yourselves, while Protestant missions flourish in the Third World and bring millions of souls into the Kingdom of God, to the glory of Jesus Christ.

Abel De Santiago You are absolutely correct God never wanted division but man and satan did and do. God also never made His church to evolve with doctrines not found in scripture or believe in the Lord's mother as if she has any powers! These things the roman Catholic church teaches are not scriptural. So while you point to thousands of denominations look within the roman Catholic church and ask yourself whether all the doctrines promoted by the roman Catholic church actually line up with scripture and what the Holy Spirit teaches?

Of course that's true but as believer's in Christ we are all redeemed allowing us to freely give back to our savior, with love and thanksgiving by being living testimonies that the Lord God, our Messiah had redeemed us on the cross and rose again, and with that we owe Him our lives. We make him the center and allow him to make us do the works of His will. Of course works aren't required to be saved by Grace, but if one has the opportunity and ability to do God's Will, would it not be best to do good Works in Jesus' name? It is by Grace that we are saved, not solely by faith apart from works, or solely by Faith apart from Works. There.

Protestants don’t believe in the Eucharist as being the Body and Blood of Christ. Read 1 Corinthians 11:27-30 where it explains “So then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. That is why many of you are WEAK and SICK and some have even DIED.” Does that sound like normal bread to you? All the early Christians and church fathers believed the Bread was the true Body of Christ.
Those who eat my flesh and drink my blood have eternal life, and I will raise them up on the last day; (1) for my flesh is true food and my blood is true drink. ... Just as the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so whoever eats me will live because of me.

@@jessebryant9233 The Current RCC is not the history of the church. Also Saint Francis was a great Saint. But the RCC has a terrible history of death and destruction along with evil. What the Catholic Church Teaches About Sola Scriptura The idea of sola scriptura is one that is very prevalent in Protestant denominations. Sola scriptura is the notion that scripture alone is the foundation of faith, and contains all revealed truth in Christianity. A common misconception that Protestants hold is that since Catholics do not believe in sola scriptura, we therefore do not know the bible, and do not promote the importance of reading and applying the teachings of sacred scripture to our lives. However, this understanding of Catholicism is not correct. “The Catholic Church, … by virtue of her divine mission, changed the day from Saturday to Sunday” (The Catholic Mirror, official publication of James Cardinal Gibbons, Sept. 23, 1893). The teaching authority of the Catholic Church is obtained both from Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition. Protestants tend to overlook the importance of Sacred Tradition in an effort to hold scripture as their sole basis of faith. Catholics do observe Sacred Scripture with high importance, as it is the inspired word of God. It is actually through the eyes of apostolic Tradition that scripture can be most fully understood, because they are so closely tied. The Second Vatican Council on Divine Revelation, says: I cannot support the murder of people that the RCC practices for centuries.

It's the 'Christian faith', not the 'Catholic faith'. Catholics adhere to the Roman expression of faith in Christ. Protestants adhere to a Germanic, Weslayan, or other expression (not Orthodox) expression of faith in Christ. We must be careful with the terms we use. The news media and other people think Catholicism is a religion unto itself, when in fact, it is the largest sect of the whole Christian faith.
It's time for Catholic and Protestant leaders to get together and reunite. Christianity is way too fragmented, and there are literally hundreds, if not thousands of Protestant denominations now. There are no longer absolute truths being consistently preached in the churches given the collapse of the mainline Protestant denominations, and liberalization of teachings in many churches. There are absolute truths that must be honored by all. United we stand, and divided we fall. The current situation is a disaster. Let's put pride aside and reunite like the first 1,500 years before it's too late!
Agreed. Among the last prayers that Jesus prayed during his sojourn here on earth was for us to be one even as He and the Father are One. And surely that prayer will be in time answered! (Personally, I don't believe He will come back until it is.) But how to make it happen? As a reformed Protestant (I produced a video series entitled "Amazing Grace: This History and Theology of Calvinism") I was about as outside the RC world as one could get. But over the years I've been, reaching back to the late 80's when I started spending time at abortion mills and in jail (Operation Rescue) with passionate and godly Catholics, and continuing to this day with interactions with people like Dr. Scott Hahn, John Bergsma, Peter Kreeft, etc. I have had a lot of my objections swept away or at least put into the "I'm not ready to completely buy in on this, but it could be true" category. (My biggest problem really are the dozens of services I have attended over the years. The majority--hands in pockets during worship, lips barely moving, looking down and around throughout the service, dead-pan faces, and scooting to the exit just as soon as they have punched their liturgical clock--is positively depressing compared to the much more vibrant and alive Protestant churches I have attended.) For example, I believe in the real presence in the Eucharist--but through the means of consubstantiation versus transubstantiation. What to do? I've wondered if just all of us who love God but are not RC should, for the sake of unity, should just jump in and then see what God does through the resultant explosive reaction. Fission or fusion?
Michael the Catholic church has been trying to unite with them. We call it the ecumenical council. But because of stubborn differences it has been futile. One has to give way. And it cannot be the original church bro. But the priests have attended and tried reaching to them but somehow they still go on with what they believe. That is the spirit of Catholicism, being universal. It upholds all truths from all groups even Muslims, Buddhists, etc..
There are more than 40000 Protestant denominations. Pretty much anyone who can gather some people , open a church and interpret the Bible as it suits them.
They left us, we didn't leave them. We have been inviting them back for 500 years now. All divisions in Christianity are caused by non-Catholic Christians refusing to listen to the Holy Spirit Who is calling them all to convert to, or come back to, the Catholic Church.

(Philippians 3:8) 'More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ...........'
The #1 reason I left the Catholic Church is when I realized the church fits the textbook description of gaslighting when “she” makes the claim “she” cannot change. The church has and does change. Even the moral authority of the church has changed. Vatican II did change the church. I was a catechist and spent time explaining how the church is always “reforming” but not changing. I thought that was the truth, but I always researched this topic to make sure I was always speaking the truth. But the reality is the opposite. All things change, especially the Catholic Church. The fact the church “declares” that she can’t when she clearly has and does was one of the many reasons I left. It does great harm to Catholics that the church continues to gaslight her believers.
It seems you don't understand what the Church is a Mystical Body of Christ and the differences in ordinary and extraordinary magisterium. The Church never changes as a moral person directly headed by Christ, it changes in the ordinary magisterium. And Vatican II is full of heresies that goes against the Church and will never truly be accepted infallibly.
@@felipeneves9571 hello Felipe. I appreciate that response. It’s what I would’ve commented to myself. I am very familiar with the distinction of ordinary vs extraordinary magisterium of the church and I am well aware that any papal infallible declarations are matters of faith and there’s little way to contradict those. That being said, I don’t know if you are in the United States or elsewhere, but existing in the American Catholic Church is a cold civil war. You have believers of every spectrum, some existing in every spectrum of belief- actually arguing about doctrine, dogma, both their prospective influence on political law and culture wars. But this is only because every side of this equation is actually right. How can that be? Pope Francis personally supports socialist politicians (not a slam on socialists as I have my sympathies), is granting Germany their own ability to interpret Catholic dogma their own unique ways (with the explicit aim at making the whole world “synodical”), you have Vatican II documents that explicitly contradict ordinary magisterium of the past, and I could go on some more. But my point is that there is no single definition of being a “Catholic” and the end result of the Church doing such a doctrinal pretzel on herself she has made herself obsolete. After all, it is Francis who has defined that a person ultimately answers to their own conscience first, everything else second (church included). Ergo, if the church is in the way, then remove yourself from the situation and seek peace. Christ is within, not in a painted chapel. Even the church says as much. I am merely following the Christian imperative to follow the truth wherever it leads me (outside of the church).
Also the fact that divorced and remarried Catholics can take communion and not be under mortal sin is a development against a moral doctrine which is also evidence that the church does change, even her moral authority. All things change.
@@froilanadiaz You are correct in the problems produced by Vatican II. I don't like them myself. You need to look at what traditionalists (like me) are saying. Look for the FSSPX and what bishop Lefevbre did. There are many that spoke and are speaking out against the disgrace inside the Church today, it's just that they are not in the mainstream. But also remember, Our Lord Jesus Christ said that the abomination of the desolation INSIDE the holy place is to be one of the biggest signs of His return.
Patrick's being a little disingenuous about the issue of idolatry. Roman Catholicism has adapted in the US, but in Latin America and other historically Roman Catholic societies, where Catholicism was the dominant religion for many centuries, the praxis of saint and relic veneration cannot not be called idolatry. Patrick's argument that there is no idolatry in Roman Catholicism is really hard to make in the Philippines and in Latin America, where people have engaged in all sorts of rites relating to graven images and shrines. There's a culture of devotion to saints which definitely fits the bill of idolatry, in the historically Catholic countries at least it is that way. Declaring Mary to be sinless is problematic. Praying to her is problematic. Bowing down and praying to images and shrines is problematic. Thinking that the dead religious figures have superhuman faculty so as to hear the prayers of millions of people is problematic. Designating Mary an empress and co-redeemer is hugely problematic. Patrick himself was driven to apologetics of Roman Catholicism through criticism of it and living in a predominantly Protestant country. But in Roman Catholic countries, the dynamic was very different. There was less self-criticism and less reflection about many of the RC practices that truly were overtly idolatrous. Not to mention the huge level of intolerance even into the 20th century of other faiths. Protestant America was way more tolerant of Roman Catholics than Roman Catholics were of Protestants. The big growth of protestantism in Latin America has been largely due to the fact that a more transparent Roman Catholicism was experienced, observed and seen by people, and the discrepancies between Roman Catholic praxis and the Bible are more apparent and more overt.
I have two major problems with Catholicism - 1. the hierarchy of priests, bishops, cardinals, and the pope and how the pope is lifted to a near godly/holier-than-thou by virtue of authority status 2. The praying to saints, especially Mary when all prayer should be directed only to god
I'm in awe of God's love and His grace He's blessed me, my Catholic Faith. I could've been born in an atheistic or Muslim family yet I have been blessed to be born in a strong Catholic family when I'm so undeserving. This I know for sure- there's no one who loves like God does! I have many weaknesses and faults, however, I pray not to fail Him when He needs me most - to be His witness. Deus vult!
So if I believe Jesus was the messiah and accepted him as the savior; but don’t go to a human priest to ‘cleanse’ my sins, do I go to hell? The priest or pope is a sinner just like you and I. I hate that Christians can’t just all be each other’s allies instead of divided based on denominations. We’re all believers in Jesus, we’re on the same side, not enemies.
Catholicism can't save you tho. Muslims say the same thing as you about where there born. In fact all religions people do. I say, however "thank God he brought the gospel of his grace to me when I was but a hell bound sinner". God is no respecting of persons. He doesn't care what family your born in. All that matters is are you trusting Jesus ALONE, to save you. Or are you trusting in the church and your good deeds? 12. Being a missionary is a great responsibility! The missionary must have great energy, fortitude and courage. Wherever the issionary goes, in whatever part of the world he is in, he must spread the Word. The local people must understand what the missionary is saying to them. The missionary must get the Word right to the people! Therefore, every missionary must know the language of the local people! To everyone who is going on a mission or preparing for one I would like to recommend a very good workshop by Yuriy Ivantsiv Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign language. This excellent book will give you answers how to correctly learn a foreign language with a minimum of your time and effort. This book answers many of the questions that everyone faces when learning a language. Good luck with your important work!
Hi. If you are a missionary, just be sure you have the right message! My concern about Catholicism is that they preach a different gospel than what the Bible teaches.
@@kenshiloh So, despite what Jesus commanded and Peter and Paul preached about, you are saying that Baptism and the Eucharist is not needed. The Jews believe that because they are the "Chosen" people, that they have nothing to worry about, and yet, their own history of antagonizing God says otherwise. You just contradicted yourself. First you are saying that you know full well that you are saved, then you are saying that you are not making such claims. All you are doing is showing your ignorance of the Catholic Church.
@@georgepierson4920 Hi. Did you not catch what I was saying in my letter? I tell people that, in 44 I have not had even one second of doubt that I know the Lord and am bound for heaven - not even for a second! Yet, I did doubt my salvation about 40 years ago. How are these two statements not contradictory? About 40 years ago, my dad, who was abusive, told me, "Not even God could love you." I thought, "Yeah, you are probably right." Yet, before I could even finish that thought, the Holy Spirit flooded my soul, reassuring me that I am loved and accepted through the Cross, through the blood of Christ. A while back, for fun, I timed my 'period of doubt' and my best estimate is 0.34ths of a second! That is how, for 44 years, I have not had even one second of doubt - because my 'doubt' lasted less than a second! Get to know the Holy Spirit and you, too, will have absolute, 100% assurance of your salvation! The Lord said, "Ask and you shall receive." Jesus Christ is the light of the world.
@@georgepierson4920 Hi. I have an answer for the Scripture verses that you gave. However, what do you do with Romans 10.13? Paul wrote, "Whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved." Yet, Catholics believe, "Whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord, is baptized Catholic, and partakes of Catholic communion might be saved." How do you reconciles these two very different gospels? One Catholic said that I was 'cherry picking. If this is cherry picking, then is Paul 'wrong'? Is there 'more to it than that'? I met one honest Catholic who said, "Sounds like a contradiction. I will have to look into that." Yet, he never wrote a follow up. Other Catholics, such as yourself, find other Bible verses that, what, 'contradict' this verse? Yet, Paul said that anyone who calls upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved. No baptism mentioned, no communion. Just as Christ said, "Ask and you shall receive." He also said, "My Father will give the Holy Spirit to anyone who asks of Him." Again, ask and receive! You can know the Lord just by asking and, "This is eternal life, that you know God and Jesus Christ Whom He has sent." Back to my original question: what do you do with Romans 10.13? Remember, Paul wrote that anyone who preaches a different gospel, let him be accursed." I hope that you will get to know Christ! Jesus Christ is the light of the world.

[1]'In all truth I tell you, anyone who does not enter the sheepfold through the gate, but climbs in some other way, is a thief and a bandit.
[2]He who enters through the gate is the shepherd of the flock;
[3]the gatekeeper lets him in, the sheep hear his voice, one by one he calls his own sheep and leads them out.
[4]When he has brought out all those that are his, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow because they know his voice.
[5]They will never follow a stranger, but will run away from him because they do not recognise the voice of strangers.'
[7]So Jesus spoke to them again: In all truth I tell you, I am the gate of the sheepfold.

Bible does not mean codex. It means Christian Scriptures and the Old and New Testament manuscripts were being circulated together and every NT book quoted by early church writers by the end of the 1st century A.D. into the early 2nd century--250 years before the false claims of Rome. Let's look at the Rosary. It is a meditation on the life of Christ wherein we pray the Hail Mary and the Our Father to assist us in our reflection.
Scripture says:
Luke 1:28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
That's basically the Hail Mary.
Matthew 6:9
After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
That, of course, is the Our Father.
As for Purgatory, it is explained here:
1 Corinthians 3:10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon.

The Word "Catholic" In The Bible.
Acts 9:31 (Greek Bible), "ai men oun Ekklesia Kath'oles tēs ioudaias kai galilaias kai samareias eichon eirēnēn oikodomoumenai kai poreuomenai tō phobō tou kuriou kai tē paraklēsei tou agiou pneumatos eplēthunonto"
Because of the heretics of the early centuries of Christianity, the word "Catholic" came up; to have a distinction to others who claimed to be Christians but differ in the beliefs of the Church Fathers and the Church.
In the first century we find local stability in the Antiocene community of St Ignatius: 'Wheresoever the bishop appears, there let the people be, even as wheresoever Christ Jesus is, there is the Catholic Church-'ubi Episcopus, ibi Ecclesia'."
But before St.
When we are called Catholics it is by this appellation that our people are kept apart from any heretical name."
-Letter to Sympronian, 375 A.D.
Romans 1:8 stated:
"First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is proclaimed in all the world."
In Greek Bible:
"He pistis humon Katengeletai en holo to cosmo." (Roma 1:8).
He pistis humon - your faith
Katengeletai - is proclaimed
En holo to cosmo - in all the world
Katholos - according to the whole
.
KaTangeletai ( καταγγέλλεται ) is being proclaimed, en(ν) in HOLOὅ(λ) all
tō(τ) the kosmō (κόσμ) world.
There are more biblical proofs showing the word Catholic:
Luke 4:14 "Ho Galalaia kai pheme exerchatomai Kath’oles."
Luke 8:39 "Apelthen Kath’oles ten polin..."
Luke 23:5 "Anaseis ton laos didasko Kath’oles."
Acts 9:41 "Gnotos de egeneto Kath’oles.”
Acts 10:32 "Hemeis oidate ho genomenon rhema Kath'oles."
Acts 4:18 "Kai kelasantes autos pareggeilan to Kath'olou..."
Matthew 28:19-20 is a statement of Universality, Katholicos, Catholicus, Catholic:
"Go, therefore and make disciples of all nations...teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; And behold, I am with you all days, even unto the consummation of the world."
The name of our church is "Ekklesia Katholes" which literally means, "The Church throughout" or "The Universal Church" which comes up with the Catholic Church. The reason why it is called Roman is because it was in Rome that the faith of Ekklesia Katholes spread. Here's proof from the book of Acts:
Acts 23:11, "The Lord stood near Paul and said, 'Don't be afraid! You have given your testimony about Me here in Jerusalem, now you must do the same in Rome.”
St.

What is heaven doing on earth?"
At the time, I had not read a Bible, so did not know Ephesians 1.14, that the Holy Spirit is our 'down payment,' our assurance of salvation or that, "The Holy Spirit bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God" (Romans 8.16).
For example, Paul wrote, "Whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord SHALL be saved," but Catholics preach that, "Whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord, is baptized Catholic, and partakes of Catholic baptism MIGHT be saved." Remember Paul's warning, "Whoever preaches a different gospel, let him be accursed."
May you be filled and have total confidence in your eternal destiny through a close friendship with Christ!
Thank you

“And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, ‘This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.’ In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you’” ~ Luke 22:19-20
"Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.” And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins." ~ Matthew 26:26-28
"The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ? Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread." ~ 1 Corinthians 10:16-17
"And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers." ~ Acts 2:42
"So Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so whoever feeds on me, he also will live because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven, not like the bread the fathers ate and died. Whoever feeds on this bread will live forever." ~ John 6:53-58
@@therese6447 Hi.
I had to go to a bible saturated Church, different to how mass is run
Yet....I will still not say that no Catholics are saved because of my disillusionment with mass?...no
I'm sure many of them love Jesus ...are saved...yet I would advocate its not because of the practice itself but because God sees the heart...
Salvation is a gift whatever denomination or Church label.
I encourage everyone to go deep with Christ in his word...as he reveals himself to those truly seeking to know him...All glory to Him I've had this experience both spiritually and intellectually

Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.”

There is only one kind of genuine conversion, from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of Light. Jesus said that unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God (see John 3:3). If a person has already put his/her faith in Christ, but moves from one denomination to another, it is NOT conversion. It is more like switching teams in a football league, or switching political parties.
It is ONLY conversion if the person has NEVER repented of his/her sins before, or received Jesus:
(John 1:12-13) 'But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.'
What is a good, better, or worse Catholic? Jesus said that no one is good but God. He once began addressing a crowd by saying, 'if you, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children.............'
NOWHERE in the Bible does it say that Catholicism can save anyone. For Peter was speaking of JESUS when He said:
(Acts 4:12) 'And there is salvation in NO ONE ELSE; for there is NO OTHER NAME under heaven that has been given among men by which be must be saved.'

DM-Purgatory is true. What does dying once have to do with Purgatory? Your question not only shows ignorance of Catholic Doctrine, but also about Scripture. Did you know that Scripture speaks of a second death? Once you put both the dying once and the second death together, you'll come closer to understanding the Doctrine of Purgatory. Look up the second death in Scripture.

Interesting!,,very clear , I like it☑️
Thank you for your sharing Bro Patrick, may you continue to inspire people to be sronger in their faith as well as be able to share Jesus's Love for us.
Hi. Does Bro Patrick share the love of Christ with others? My concern about Catholicism is that they preach a different gospel than what the Bible teaches.
Jesus Christ is the light of the world.

IT IS SIMPLE AS THAT
He says Mary was sinless (as does the Catholic faith. Did Paul lie when he said in Romans 3:23 23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.”?
Here is the definition of the immaculate conception.
The Definition
Wherefore, in humility and fasting, we unceasingly offered our private prayers as well as the public prayers of the Church to God the Father through his Son, that he would deign to direct and strengthen our mind by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Martin Luther (founder of the reform), speaks on Mary
There can be no doubt that the Virgin Mary is in heaven. How it happened we do not know. And since the Holy Spirit has told us nothing about it, we can make of it no article of faith . . . It is enough to know that she lives in Christ.
(Sermon of August 15, 1522, the last time Martin Luther preached on the Feast of the Assumption)
The veneration of Mary is inscribed in the very depths of the human heart.
(Sermon, September 1, 1522)
[She is the] highest woman and the noblest gem in Christianity after Christ . . . She is nobility, wisdom, and holiness personified. We can never honor her enough. Still honor and praise must be given to her in such a way as to injure neither Christ nor the Scriptures.
(Sermon, Christmas, 1531)
No woman is like you. You are more than Eve or Sarah, blessed above all nobility, wisdom, and sanctity.
(Sermon, Feast of the Visitation, 1537)
One should honor Mary as she herself wished and as she expressed it in the Magnificat. She praised God for his deeds. How then can we praise her? The true honor of Mary is the honor of God, the praise of God's grace . . . Mary is nothing for the sake of herself, but for the sake of Christ . . . Mary does not wish that we come to her, but through her to God.
(Explanation of the Magnificat, 1521)
Luther gives the Blessed Virgin the exalted position of "Spiritual Mother" for Christians:
It is the consolation and the superabundant goodness of God, that man is able to exult in such a treasure. Mary is his true Mother ..
(Sermon, Christmas, 1522)
Mary is the Mother of Jesus and the Mother of all of us even though it was Christ alone who reposed on her knees . . . If he is ours, we ought to be in his situation; there where he is, we ought also to be and all that he has ought to be ours, and his mother is also our mother.
(Sermon, Christmas, 1529)
It is a sweet and pious belief that the infusion of Mary's soul was effected without original sin; so that in the very infusion of her soul she was also purified from original sin and adorned with God's gifts, receiving a pure soul infused by God; thus from the first moment she began to live she was free from all sin"
(Sermon: "On the Day of the Conception of the Mother of God," 1527)
She is full of grace, proclaimed to be entirely without sin- something exceedingly great. For God's grace fills her with everything good and makes her devoid of all evil.

Christ . . . was the only Son of Mary, and the Virgin Mary bore no children besides Him . . . I am inclined to agree with those who declare that 'brothers' really mean 'cousins' here, for Holy Writ and the Jews always call cousins brothers.
{Pelikan, ibid., v.22:214-15 / Sermons on John, chaps. 1-4 (1539)}

{Pelikan, ibid.,v.45:199 / That Jesus Christ was Born a Jew (1523)}
Scripture does not say or indicate that she later lost her virginity . . .
When Matthew [1:25] says that Joseph did not know Mary carnally until she had brought forth her son, it does not follow that he knew her subsequently; on the contrary, it means that he never did know her . . . This babble . . . is without justification . . . he has neither noticed nor paid any attention to either Scripture or the common idiom.
{Pelikan, ibid., v.45:206,212-3 / That Jesus Christ was Born a Jew (1523) }
". . . she is full of grace, proclaimed to be entirely without sin. . . . God's grace fills her with everything good and makes her devoid of all evil. . . . God is with her, meaning that all she did or left undone is divine and the action of God in her. Moreover, God guarded and protected her from all that might be hurtful to her."
(Luther's Works, American edition, vol. 43, p. 40, ed. H. Lehmann, Fortress, 1968)

For example:
Since Protestants adhere to the idea of justification by faith alone, I doubt that most would consider the ideas of repentance and baptism as basics of Christianity.
Thank you and God bless 🙏

What the Catholic Church Teaches About Sola Scriptura
The idea of sola scriptura is one that is very prevalent in Protestant denominations.
The Second Vatican Council on Divine Revelation, says:
I cannot support the murder of people that the RCC practices for centuries.

Catholics are Christians. Jesus started Catholic church!
As long an Christianity stays fragmented and we fight among ourselves, the devil shall prevail.
Becasue they all sought after truth. You guys just accepted words of man can call them Traditions

@@froilanadiaz No, it didn't change. That's a herectic proposition by Francis. The infallible magisterium would never affirm that, hence it hasn't.
Do you think JESUS will be pleased with you when you disrespect and insult His Mother Mary?
I have two major problems with Catholicism - 1. the hierarchy of priests, bishops, cardinals, and the pope and how the pope is lifted to a near godly/holier-than-thou by virtue of authority status 2. The praying to saints, especially Mary when all prayer should be directed only to god
Why not complain about the Deacons as well since they are also mentioned in the bible?

I'm in awe of God's love and His grace He's blessed me, my Catholic Faith.

It is very simple to be saved and takes only a minute to explain. Please let me show you how to get to Heaven from the Bible, God's Word...
Man is a Sinner in the Eyes of a Holy God.
Isaiah 53:6, “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.”Romans 3:19, “Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.”John 3:3, “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”Romans 3:10, “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.”Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
There is a Price For Our Sin―Burning in Hell Forever.
Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”Romans 5:12, “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.”2nd Thessalonians 1:8, “In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.”Revelation 20:15, "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”Revelation 21:8, “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
Jesus paid that price by dying on the cross and shedding His blood; Christ was buried and bodily rose again the third day!
Romans 5:8, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”1st Timothy 1:15, “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.”1st Peter 1:18-19, “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ...”1st Corinthians 15:1-4, “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” This is the Gospel.
By faith in Jesus Christ ALONE we are immediately saved.Galatians 3:26, “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.”John 11:25, “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.”John 6:28-29, “Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.”Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”John 14:6, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”John 6:40, “And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.”Mark 1:15, “And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.”Acts 26:18, “To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.”Romans 10:13, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”1st Corinthians 3:11, "For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”Galatians 3:26, “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.”

This book answers many of the questions that everyone faces when learning a language. Good luck with your important work!
Hi. If you are a missionary, just be sure you have the right message! My concern about Catholicism is that they preach a different gospel than what the Bible teaches.
Jesus Christ is the light of the world.
@@kenshiloh So, despite what Jesus commanded and Peter and Paul preached about, you are saying that Baptism and the Eucharist is not needed.

You can know the Lord just by asking and, "This is eternal life, that you know God and Jesus Christ Whom He has sent."
Back to my original question: what do you do with Romans 10.13? Remember, Paul wrote that anyone who preaches a different gospel, let him be accursed." I hope that you will get to know Christ! Jesus Christ is the light of the world.
