- A big thank you to some of the members of the BH4 Wheelers who fought to get and keep this trail open, Jason Paule, Craig Grunenfelder, Pat & Jan Helgeson and Ryan Stulc.
Have you ever wanted to visit Mount Rushmore but needed another reason too? Well now you can go wheeling and stare at them for free from a much cooler dirt parking lot. I was part of doing a lot of trail maintenance to T-Back and Bikini Trails through the BH4 Wheelers who operate well with the Forest Service to protect our trail systems. Now follow along on the OnX Offroad App too!

Colt your channel has become one of my most favorite channels on the interweb. I have learned a lot over the years watching you on Bleepin Jeep. I know you will do so much more for us now that you're out on your own. Great Job Sir!
I agree. I enjoy watching Colt and his builds. Great info and a great guy.
Appreciate that, I cannot wait to have my shop done and really dig into some builds
This trail is tough, your rigs travel is awesome, got some major flex! Great video
Thanks 👍
I really wish i had your ability to read the trail the way you do and know how to take obstacles
Quickly subscribed to your channel will never subscribe to bleeping he's just a weird one lol later
Why do you think we care what you do??
@@mikek5298yeah that’s the way to treat a new sub on a new channel. Way to support Colt. Bleepin likes playing in his moms basement. Weird isn’t even close to scratching what he is. I say welcome sir….
lol I’ve always thought he was a bit odd too. Not necessarily in a bad way, idk, just not my cup of tea maybe
I subscribed when colt was with him im not about to ditch Matt and Josh. Colt gets most of my views though. Huh, weird!😮
Colt DOES IT.
Hiya Shana...
Colt "I'm going to put tires on it and see what happens" Colt's buggy "I'm going to wheel this like a BOSS"
Colt, please do Another run down of your samurai build, I see ford 8 bolts? Really like to gether some idea's thanks, Awesome trail heck of a veiw too, wow 👌
Great video , will be in the black hills over the 4th would love some input on some light moderate trails I could run with my family .
The Black Hills 4 Wheelers and Black Hills Jeeps are 2 great sources for trail input. But I'd say Raseberry Ridge, Dugans Prospect and Jake trails in that order.
Could you explain why people run propane on trail buggies, rock buggies, etc.? What are some Pro & Cons to it, along reason you chose to run it on you Sami build? Thank you for sharing & really enjoying your channel
Propane is cheap fuel injection, always stays at high octane and very simple wiring. Cons, nobody carries a spare gallon of propane.
If you were to build your buggy over again…what, if anything, would you change?
Going to have to watch some axle videos of yours. Picking up a set of Dana 60s soon for my YJ. Any suggestions on an anti rap bar/ rear traction bar?
Barnes4wd makes the one I use on my S10 and it works great
Let's go wheelin'
Just out trashing the dirt and what ever get in the way.for fam
Is this the trail you done some gost driving on
I am surprised that you can wheel that area
Can I request a build video on that Sammy? I know it’s probably out there somewhere, but it would be nice to have it here. Thanks!!
Really cool trails Colt ,thanks for taking us along.
Any time!
@@coltbuildsit how about wr do it for fathers day?,
Father's of our great nation and all,
Seems appropriate...
That looks like a pretty technical trail. It never ceases to amaze me what can be climbed with a well built buggy and an experienced driver. Great video!
You do an amazing job covering the trail while simultaneously being entertaining and educational. 🍻
Thank you
@@coltbuildsit Thank you! I really dig the history nuggets you throw in.
Keep up the good work. I like watching you expressly when I am down. You bring me up
I would love to see a video on the propane fuel system on your rig. How to install, Pros and Cons.
Excellent camera work and killer driving skills. Fantastic video Colt, thanks for sharing.
This is cool colt !!! Heck of a trail
Colt Ceever DOES IT,
The original fall guy.
Wow! What an incredible machine you've constructed! And your driving skills are unmatched. Just the right amount of throttle in tight spots that a lot of guys would try to "gun through" and probably wind up flipping or rolling over. Great video and narrative. Keep up the good work!
Just to let you know I tap the thumbs up before I even watch the video!! You have a long life fan. Probably never wheel together but watching you videos is epic enough
I appreciate that! You rock!
That is a cool off road buggy, is it a jeep, Baja style buggy or what? What size engine is in it and is the engine in the rear or front? Do you ever make it to the southeast area, I’m in Georgia. My brother has a Nissan Titan/V8 with a 3” lift. I have a Chevy Silverado 6.0 LS 4x4 with a 2 1/2 lift!
Dang, this is sweet action. I live in Minnesota and want to head your way badly to do some wheelin'. Awesome Vid!
Kinda boring when it’s just jeep noise. How about adding information about the obstacles. “As I don’t want to flip over, so I come to put my right wheel up and …blah blah blah. “
Love what you do so keep us engaged. You can do it.
Your Buggy is amazing! You have good quality video. Like how you narrate also.
Glad I read the first comment. I thought you were saying “t-bag”…I need to use my Google translated to repeat the verbiage to Midwest. Good stuff, Colt!
Amazing how capable that machine is, the driver is probably OK too.
It looks like these Badlands trails are well designed and marked. I hope people don't take them for "GRANITE".
There should be 1000 trails like this. It’s not harming the planet and there are areas around here (colorado) that would be great for it - the gulches come to mind, spots like China wall…
It’s a fair way to utilize the land with relatively little damage as long as people clean up and follow stay the trail rules and etiquette. Can’t be any worse than the concrete trails they are building along clear creek. They’ve practically ruined that river
Love what you’re doing colt. Some of us are out here rootin for ya. Your thrifty methods give hope to us broke bastards, but I could use some skills
Hey Colt, where can I find more on this RC Crawler ? That’s slicker than snot.
I see why you move south west. Cool trails. Even have a hot lady falling you making sure you are safe.
I've done both of these several times. On three wheels riding the hallway. Nothing like it in Illinois! Thanks for the memories. 😁
I'd love to see Rushmore before i pass on but maybe next time. 🤔
some really unenthusiastic film crew you got there lol
That looks like a fun trail, great video.
Id love to see an in depth look at this buggy, I'm new to the Colt scene,so i dont know if you built it on bleepin or what, but i d rather give you the watch time!
Build a scorpion tail to lift yourself around!
Great job guys. Thank you 😊
I found a GPS track on the 'Jeep the USA' web site for both trails. Great video, too technical for my rig, but hope to be building a buggy in the very near future. Thanks for sharing.
If those tracks are given to them by NFS then they are the compressed "wrong" map of the actual trails. That's why I mapped these, so that anyone with a GPS can follow the trail correctly and not what the condensed versions sent to the masses from the paper maps.
Crazy we were at Rushmore today , been wheeling SXSs down Sturgis last time saw you Wrecker games Sandhollow. Maybe see down Farmington one day . Good luck on channel .
Thank you!
Hey Colt just put that under the Pacer😉
Me and a few of my buddies ran this trail at the DTC in 22, and I gotta admit, I don't recognize any of these obstacles. It has either changed a lot since then, or we missed most of the obstacles, or my memory sucks! Chances are, it's the memory thing. 😂
Getting older sucks
Frickin two finger driving!!❤
Thank you Colt for mapping this trail for OnX so people can enjoy it better ! I just enjoy watching from the safety of my home in Kansas ! I don't think that my old heart could take some of those spots on some of the trails that you guys go on ! Being a old veteran at the young age of 69 plus experiences as a child makes me want to keep my feet firmly on the ground ! 😅😅😅😅
Colt , I had read some comments on a Rock Crawler video ! Someone made a comment about someone not knowing what a tach was ! I was wondering if there is a tachometer on Rock Crawlers or not ! Either way do you use the tachometer during rock crawling or just pay attention to your speed and the terrain ? To me , I would paying attention to my speed , the terrain and heat gauge than the tachometer ! Is that wrong in doing so ?
I normally watch 2 things, my oil pressure and my vehicle temp.
Cool, awesome crawling!
How far did your wife and son walk?
Nice low rpm torque. Propane 4-cylinder?
That is correct
Excellent, as always.
$25 dollars a month for your channel ? I think not good luck.
You can subscribe for free, not sure what you're talking about?
I see you run a standard transmission, you must feel it’s better than an automatic or is it a preference.
It was what I had, they both have their pros and cons.
Super cool video.
8:36 dang colt, God job.
Colt, are you set up with OnX to submit trail maps for them?
Anyone cam send maps in, they then have to verify it before loading it into their system though.
Question, Why do they pot the signs on the trees and not the rocks?
That's what the NFS in the Black Hills wanted. I asked the exact same question.
Colt does it!
That area is one of the most beautiful in the country, so wheeling there must be a real treat.
Been up there twice. The wheelin is great - Hal
John’s and Cap’n Crunch etc are very cool
I mean….. they suck. Don’t go it’s not worth the drive
❤️🥰👍🤘
Nice to see that little Green Samurai hood on that cool rig….😂
I like the trash bag flopping like a happy lazy dog
You might want to check your CODE it says COLDbuildsit not COLTbuildsit. Lol 😅😅😅😅😅
Haha, good catch. I guess over the years I've been called Colt, Cone, Clint, Cole, Cold, Carl, Coat and sometimes just Dumb.....lol
Cone and Carl are my favorites lol.
Is your wife in flip flops again ?
They're hiking sandals
Greetings in Puerto Rico, the samurai are well preserved, very beautiful and they are ROTATING, blessings for you COLT builds it🇵🇷✌️
Jeez, talk about pucker power. Thanks for sharing.
Do you run Propane or CNG?
Propane
Awesome! I'm planning a trip to the Black Hills later this summer. Where do I find a list of trails/locations by difficulty? These trails on are OnX now, but their difficulty isn't listed. That seems to be the case for most trails in the Black Hills, unless I'm missing something.
Great video!! I just got done building a Sami buggy and love it. Was wondering if you have any experience with working on 95 1.6 16 valve? My engine is rebuilt and runs great but I have this stumble off idle right when you push on the gas that is driving me nuts!! Hard to find people that know the little corks on these, you know or have a Sami guys that could help? Thanks
How close are these trails to the crazy horse monument?
Straight line about 5 miles.....about 20 by road.
@@garryshadwick6609 cool thank you
Wish you could help my 99 Cherokee..2WD, 4.5 inch lift on 33's needs gears and is very cold blooded again lately.
Some squirrel looking obstetrical you ran on this video. I have never been to that location. One of my cousins has seen Mt. Rushmore a couple of times. When he was younger he went on the wheat harvest from Texas to North and South Dakota. He passed away a year ago in September. Not only was he my cousin he was a good friend as well.
Colt your always having fun an I’m always working it’s not fair
That was a tough trail, a guy would be lucky to get out without breaking! 👍🇺🇸🤪
Looks like some fun trails. I’d like to yell at you for wheeling alone. But I won’t. Cause you suckered 3 other walkers to go get help lol.
im always amazed the places those buggies can go i see you run propane seem to work pretty good ,very bright clear video must have good cameras
Please review us your build on the new channel. Like your builds . Nice and easy done LoL
did you sell your rear steer sami? how do they compare? i know you touched on this when you reacquired this one, but i don't remember much other than this one being closer to trail ready.
That’s a great trail , does your buggy run on propane?
nicely done. love the vids, keep up the great work.
Colt, you need to explain in one of your videos on how your propane set up works and is plumbed.
Looks like a fun trail! How far can you go on the two propane tanks?
Colty colt made a video , Again....
Sweet 🤘
That little green buggy sounds exactly like our Yale forklift.
The propane setup and orbital valve are from a toyota forklift.
Fantastic Photo of the TB 10 sign!
❤Love this Trail Mapping series 👍😎✊
I'm a little surprised that Pat isn't with you
Looks like this would be a fun trail for trials bikes.
have you done a video on the changes to the sammy? No more rear steer?
You're a danged ol' wheel man, Colt!!
Hey Colt, does this mean that we are going to see more of your beautiful wife, and Ian? Please say that it is true!!! I love seeing your videos far more than Bleeping, I think that it is because of your voice. Thanks Colt for sharing the Black Hills with me, I live vicariously through you
I think BJ and colt are
Both pretty entertaining. I root for colt though - he goes it alone, seems genuine, will help anyone, and does it in a budget. I’m glad he has a bigger shop now. That little garage hurt my back knowing he couldn’t fit a lift or really even jack up a rig
That Green Little Frog is a crawler. Thanks Colt, great video. Keep it up.
You bet
Nice job. Adding sweet trails to Onx Offroad is the way to go. You gotta love that satisfying feeling when your rig hooks up and crawls the tough ones. Love the video.
You got that right!
Nice crawling!
great as always great content very entertaining
Glad you enjoyed it
👍
Best channel on this thing❤️🇺🇲
Thanks
