  • This segment is setup for those 1st time wheelers or ones new to the Black Hills of South Dakota. The rules are a little different here. Check out some of our more mild trails that are rated 4/10 on the difficulty scale. These a great weekend or rental jeep level trails if you are visiting the area. Just don't forget to have a good mapping system like onX Offroad to find your way around.

    Thanks for taking all of us on this little journey. Speaking of mud holes 🕳, they are what sustains our wonderful wildlife. Ripping through them for utube or just " cool " video destroys the habitat. All life needs that water, next time get out and see what tracks 👣 you will find, you may be surprised. Think about being out off road, not much water to drink, the jeep infront of you gets 5 gallons of drinking water, none left for you. You watch them wasting it and pouring it out, laughing. Next water the same thing, now you NEED water, next water same thing as they laugh at you. Keeping our trails open and working together to create more of them is for the future, not the moment . Tread lightly, explore, educate and build some dreams for the children that will one day grow to follow in our footprints.

    We are currently in the Black Hills and are amazed at how green it is compared to eastern Nebraska where we live. Having a great time with the granddaughters who are here for the first time.

    Love the Rats Nest but miss the Samurai. I really like the way the Suzuki sounds when it is rock crawling. Beautiful country there in the Black Hills.

    Clubs play a big part in trail conservation and education. People need to realize that every trail doesn't need to be a rated 10 to be a great trail..m conserve what we got and if we get more in the future see it as a blessing..

    We brought our ATVs to the Black Hills five years in a row until the lockdowns started and haven't been back since. I would love to bring my XJ there someday.

    That’s a fun looking trail to take the kids on and not worry too much about breakage or injury. We have great terrain like that here in PA, but sadly not very many trails available

    Glad you advised us about the trail pass, the site I acquired the GPX file for those and other trails did not mention the pass requirement. I applaud your PSA about not widening the trails, whether it is mud holes or snow drifts. Thanks for sharing.

    Rats Nest started out as a spitting image of the Jeep I had back in the US. Mine had an inline 6, 4.0L engine, and I was SO sad when I had to move.

    Yeah last summer we were staying south of Deadwood, in Sturgis they had softball sized hail and 65+ mph winds. So glad we missed that. It hails ALL the time out there 😕

    I would so enjoy going wheeling with you all! I'm in southern Nebraska. Been to Sturgis on bikes so many times and I kept seeing these roads going off road which I couldn't do. Now I can with the Jeep. I would so love going with any event you have.

    I've been to the Black hills almost every year since 2004 during the Sturgis Rally and a few times on vacation with my kids on vacation. I figured there would have to be some trails there, but hadn't checked it out. That is frikin Awesome!!

    My wife and I have been going to that area for years with our SxS's! She won't take her Jeep, it is a pavement queen...lol. Not sure how you map system works, but the app we use (I won't say which one in case you are sponsored by the map app) runs off satellite so we always can see exactly where we are even without cell signal. Always love the beauty of Mother Nature out there!!

    These videos are the kinds that I build wheeling trips around , problem is most locals don’t want people coming from across the country to their hidden gem riding spots. I hope to see a bunch more informational videos like this.

      Hidden gem ? Don't think so. Beside most trails and roads can be done in a car. Just a few good rock trails.

    There's tons of trails out there that aren't blocked by forestry hills or gate.
    And no signs. Yea I have video on my channel that shows a tow truck getting stuck trying to get to me. Where i was stuck. Because i went slow through a puddle That put me on my side. Sat there 16 hrs trying to get out because i went slow. Lolol. Speaking of gates. If y'all ever open a farm gate. Close the farm gate.

      TWRA holds the keys to the castle for OHV in TN. Forest Service doesn't care and doesn't have the funding or authority to administer OHV trails.

    Coke Any interest in a nv4500&ax15 box nv has 1500 miles and was swapped out under svc contract. The ax5 box is used 50k no issues also have a lower inline 4.0block n stand I let go for free if your ever eastern PA. The block needs cam bearings. Was running low on oil pressure so was swapped out under svc contract aswell

      Unfortunately there are rules, regulations, and laws attached to everything that you do nowadays and they used to call the US the land of the free and home of the brave but if you ask me there is nothing that is free anymore and not even your freedom because you are paying for it somehow someway and the government is just like a woman in that way because the man is going to end up paying for it somehow someway and if you're lucky you might find one or two people out of a crowd of 10 that are actually brave enough to do or say anything to anyone

      100%…I’ve seen firsthand how corrupt our Forest Service leadership is here in Colorado. Selling land to build Mansions, then paving forest roads to get there in areas that have been non-motorized all winter for decades…..can’t live with em, can’t live without em…😂 🔫

      No, the Napier Hood vents are designed to prevent that and unless I was aimed down hill maybe water would creep into the engine bay but I haven't noticed any.

    I am wanting to build a WJ, and was wondering during if the trails are full width axle friendly? I come up to the Black Hills 5 or 6 times a year and for Sturgis.

    the biggest complaint being off roaders veering off onto private property in the black hills . this is a huge no no . residents have zero tolerence for this and rightly so. those people are the ones who ruin any good relations that were built over the years.

    I have a 96XJ project in my garage. I’m in the process of doing a 1 ton axle swap soon as I get my 6.0 LS built I’ll be dropping that in there as well I wanted to be roadworthy, and Trail were the
