I am so glad I follow this channel. The reviews on this channel are awesome. I have been wanting to purchase a cold plunge system for a while, but the cost was a little too high. This is an awesome option. I purchased mine today.
Awesome! Thank you! I greatly appreciate the support from my subscribers. I can promise you all that i am just getting started and the best is yet to come :)
Bought Ice Up and set up week ago. Plunged every day since. Very pleased. Doesn’t mention weight of chiller. Picked up from their building and Lucas and I lifted into car. Nobody in my retirement environment to help me get out. Bought platform lift and just left it on. When get ready to take back from FL to TX just jack up and slip into back of SUV. Everything in this video is correct.
Looking forward to the ice barrel 300 review. Can you please test how well it can hold a temperature with just ice since it’s now fully insulated? I am a bit skeptical as to how well it will work.
Just bought their chiller for my DIY setup that I've been icing. After about 3 months of burning through ice (I try to plunge about 3 or more times a week) I figured it was the more cost effective way to do things haha. I got the model with heat as well. Very impressed with the list of features on the chiller hope it performs well!
Thanks for the follow-up David! Can you talk about the pros/cons of a longer tub where you lay down vs a more vertical position like this? Do you prefer the upright version more?
@@watts4reel756 it took a little over a month to come, but they were making a change to a few things on the chiller. Now thats done and its AWESOME they said things will speed up.
@@DavidMausJr Thanks for the prompt reply. I have a cheaper $100 barrel style (one that companies just white lable) to get into the mindset of consistent plunges. Looking into this brand though since I am local to Florida too and they seem like a company that stands behind their product and not just trying to cash grab on the cold plunge craze, Thanks! Liked for that youtube algorithm.
@@seacebedo I have the barrel but the chiller hasn’t shipped yet. I’m going on 16 weeks. Pretty close to canceling this but not sure how that works seeing as I’ve taken partial delivery
Sorry my friend@@seacebedo I hate the long waits. I spoke to the owner this morning and they were able to start mass shipping this week so you should be getting yours soon!
@@DavidMausJr I did mine following Mod Plunge's idea, but with a 1hp Ecoplus chiller instead to keep outdoors and upgraded filter and UV light. Works really well. Very low power usage. I have a timer running it 2x a day for 20min, enough to keep 45°F. Thanks for all your reviews, really helped setting up my plunge!!
Your a really good sales person. You make all the products sound perfect. You really should consider coming out with your own plunge. Love your videos super informative keep it up 👍🏽
Hey thanks Kobe! That would be fun. It makes it easy, I really only review products worth reviewing. (I’ve had a few offers to review products but when I look into them they make no sense to talk about). 🤙🏽
I’ve spoke to the owner a bunch and they moved to a larger warehouse which caused delays but products are shipping and should only get faster from here. I’m confident in them and they haven’t hid anything from me 🤙🏽
Thank you for your videos, with your help, I have arrived at Ice up as the solution for my ice bath need, however, the 39 inches tall barrel seems really tall if a shorter person wants to use it. My wife is fairly short, and getting in, I am concerned she may literally fall into it, rather than step into it, and getting out may be a serious issue as well, to the extent, she may stop using it, which is not ideal. Any thoughts? Am I thinking this correctly? (Alternative may be Polar Monkey 4' tub?)
That is a valid and great concern and to be honest, that was also my concern with the Ice Barrel 400 and again with the Ice Up Barrel, when I first got them. My wife is 5'0" and I have 4 kids all under 13 that use the ice baths regularly. Heres what I found: The steps are great and get you up to the top easily and its a very comfortable setup and makes it easy to get in and out and swing your legs in and out of it. The water inside makes you buoyant and actually helps you get out. I thought it would be an issue, but it has not been. Hope that helps!
@DavidMausJr Thank you very much for the detailed explanation. This was great help. When I place my order I will check to see if I can use ur referrals to help out your channel in the smallest way I can. Thanks again!
If you had to pick between this and a polar monkey for outdoor use what would you choose ? I’m worried about the inflatable over time with the elements.
I’m a fan of both. I’m a bigger fan of the ICE up chiller and tube setup. I think it will hold temp more true outside. But being inflatable is always the long term question.
Great review. I bought the PolarPod and was disappointed. Cheap construction but I guess that’s what I get for trying to save money. Buy once, cry once.
Oh no! I am sorry to hear that. Main reason i only try to review products that should stand to last with good teams behind them. Very impressed by the Ice UP team.
Hey Dave, the Ice Up guys have it right. It's wider, taller and insulated. Had wider tubes and a strong chiller, all at a reasonable price point for all that it offers. Again, the Ice Barrell 300 people should take notice. They missed an opportunity to up their product line. Others will follow with better value and options. Great review once again, keep up the great dissemination of information, and I bet you would be an awesome coal! Coal plunge company if you were to start one!
it will stay "on" 24/7 but the chiller will turn off when it reaches your set temp. The pump will keep the water moving so it doesnt get nasty. Its a solid system and will be cold and clean when you want to get in it. :)
So would you recommend the ice barrel over this product? With the chiller, of course. There are so many options. I'm just confused. Someone mentioned the ice monkey and I looked at it but it's very expensive. Thank you.
Totally! Depends on your goals and budget. It’s nice that this setup comes ready to roll and it’s solid, but you’ll be waiting about a month. You can get the ice barrel and everything you need usually in like 5 days. The setup is simple and less money. I have the links to everything I use in my video descriptions at the bottom to build my same DIY. Let me know if this helps or if you have any other questions. Love to help!

Hey David question for you- How long do you stay in the cold plunge? I go for 10-13 minutes. Is that too long? Is it better to go for a shorter time? Thanks!
I cold plunge way too much. Lol but not all at once. A typical day for me is 3 minutes at 44 in the morning, usually a quick wake up dip of 2 minutes after work and I have been really loving plunging right before bed for another 2 mins. I do stay in 5-7 minutes on big recovery days but not usually any longer. How cold do you have it when you go that long?
Do you still use the edge theory cold plunge? Haven't seen it in your videos anymore. I was thinking of getting one and am 6'0. Would the normal size fit me?
What are your thoughts on the maintenance kit (chemicals) side of things? I have friends who own pools and they seemed to think that was overkill for such a small body of water that already has ozone. Do you think a short person is going to have trouble getting in and out of this? My wife is 4’11” so it’ll be interesting seeing how that plays out lol
I dont want to tell you not to get it if you want it, but i dont use chemicals like that in my tubs. I use some hydrogen peroxide, but this already has ozone so i think its totally set up to stay clean without. Also, my wife is 5' even and she can get in easily, all of my kids climb in as well and its easy. You will both love it!
Thanks again for all the really helpful information. I ordered my Ice Up barrel today!

Do you have to drain it to change the filter? Seems you would given the bottom hose goes to the filter.
No you don’t have to drain it. But there isn’t a way to stop the water from coming out that I can find
Thanks - I asked Ice Up as well and they said they simply kink the hoses to minimize the water when changing the filter.

Is that 1 inch interior or exterior diameter on the hose?
